Chapter 574 Sailing in the Darkness and Fog

Chapter 574 – Sailing Through Darkness and Fog
With a loud bang, that Annihilationist immediately spat blood out of his mouth and flew ten meters away, only finally stopping when he hit the trunk of a giant tree in the sky, sliding to the ground like a broken sack.

The last look that came out of his eyes was one of great dismay and bewilderment – perhaps he had conceived of all sorts of powerful enemies and traps in his life, but probably he would never have imagined that he would one day be smashed by a dog.

Carrying Dog’s chain, Sherry took a step in front of the cultist, who could no longer move even a single finger, and stopped at a relatively safe distance.

The cultist was still alive – or rather, in this “dream world”, it seemed that the real-world fatal injuries were not enough to kill him, even though his head was almost smashed into his neck cavity, and most of the joints of his body showed a strange and terrible state of bending, this guy was still alive, just weak. The guy was still alive, just too weak to move, and could only stare at him with a look of indignation mixed with a bit of fear.

Shirley ignored the other party’s frightening gaze and slightly raised the chain in her hand, so Dog stepped forward and came up to the cultist.

“What in the world are you ……” Annihilation cultist throat hard to let out a voice, he watched that hideous and horrifying profound hound to come to his side, the slightest bit of fear finally uncontrollably surfaced in the bottom of the eyes, and not far away, with him symbiosis of the Not far from him, the “Sue Bird” also struggled a few times, as if trying to fight back, but was quickly silenced by the extreme weakness of his symbiote, which made his voice sound more and more bluff, “What are you going to do?!”

“This place is a dream world, I won’t be able to catch you in the real world,” a smile slowly emerged on Sherry’s face as she lifted the arm that was symbiotic with the chains and rubbed the dark chain gently against her face, her expression still harmless, “And in case I meet you defenselessly, it would be dangerous if I don’t detect it in time, “And in case I meet you unguarded, it would be dangerous if I don’t detect it in time. didn’t notice it in time would be dangerous, so I have to leave a little mark ……”

“Mark ……?”

The Annihilationist who fell to the ground froze for a moment, and in the next second, he saw that the Profound Hound that came over suddenly opened its mouth wide, and its hideous and horrifying skeletal teeth mercilessly tore down – he only had time to let out a scream in fear, and then the terrible pain almost tore apart his consciousness, and one of his arms had already been transformed into a piece of flesh and blood in the Profound Hound’s mouth. Hound’s mouth into fragments of flesh and blood.

“I remember your flavor, we’ll catch you in the real world-” Dog raised his head, his blood-filled orbs staring intently at the wailing Annihilationist, a hoarse, low voice coming from his skeletal patchwork chest, and “Capture you alive and He will reward us ……”

The wailing sound came to an abrupt end, and the cultist instantly widened his eyes and stared at the hideous Profound Hound in front of him, his mouth wide open, not knowing whether he was in shock that this Profound Demon was able to spit out human words, or whether he sensed a great fear and danger in the last sentence he had just heard – “He “He will reward …… What is the origin of this weird girl and this weird demon? Who is the “Him” they mentioned?

In the next second, the Annihilationist’s figure suddenly began to fade and distort, and in almost just one or two breaths of time, his figure disappeared into thin air in front of Sherry and Dog.

“Sure enough, he ran away,” Dog turned his head, shaking his head from side to side, some helplessness in his tone, “It should be that this guy’s accomplices in the real world sensed something and forcibly ‘dragged’ him away …… This kind of spiritual level transfer we can’t stop.”

“It’s fine, didn’t you memorize his scent?” Shirley waved her hand, followed by a serious face to confirm, “Can you really find it in the real world?”

“Don’t go too far away – if the guy happens to be within my sensory range, I’m sure I’ll be able to find him,” Dog said sullenly, “The Phantom Hound is the best demon at tracking, and he can’t erase the the traces.”

“That’s good,” Shirley sighed with relief, “If only we could actually catch him alive, even if it would top two rolls ……”

Dog ignored the second half of Shirley’s recitation, tilting his head back, he heard the chaotic wind and noise of the forest coming from all directions, saw that the trees in the distance were becoming transparent and darkening in patches, and the signs that the dream was about to unravel were becoming more and more apparent.

Clearly, something was exerting its influence on this dream – it was about to welcome awakening.

……

Something seemed to be coming from the darkness, it sounded like chaotic winds whistling and snapping the branches of the treetops as they blew through the trees, but when you listened closely it seemed like it was just an illusion.

Duncan didn’t have the extra energy to pay attention to the vague noises coming from the darkness, he had already had his full attention drawn to the unthinkable scene before him.

It was indeed the Lost Country – after spreading his senses deeper into the vines, in the center of the darkness and fog, he saw the familiar Ghost Ship.

But …… why? Why did the figure of the Lost Country appear in this place?

Duncan closer to see the “Lost Country” seems to be floating in a layer of pitch-black water, thick as ink darkness as if swallowed like obscuring the lower part of the ship, and in the towering deck, the entire ship is a dead silence, can not hear any sound coming from it.

After a moment’s hesitation, he “flew” onto the deck of the “Lost Country”.

In this darkness, he was moving in a purely “point of view”, which gave him sufficient convenience.

The deck was empty, and as far as the eye could see, the scenery was old and familiar.

Following the route he remembered, Duncan slowly made his way around the deck, as well as the nearby cabins.

Everything was unmistakable.

But he knew that this was not the real Lost Country, nor was it a projection of the Lost Country or anything of the sort – for he felt no close connection between “the ship” and himself, no feedback from the flames.

This ship was made by some other force. Once again, the faint sound of wind and noise came from the darkness, and it was a little more pronounced than it had been a moment before.

Duncan focused on those sounds coming from the depths of the darkness for a moment, then made his way to the aft deck area and stopped in front of the captain’s cabin door.

His eyes moved upward and suddenly settled.

On the frame of this door was inscribed a line of unfamiliar words – “May He wander in dreams.”

Not “The Door of the Lost”?

Duncan was dismayed, for he clearly remembered that the door to the captain’s cabin was inscribed with the words “The Lost One’s Door”, and that it was the only way to get to his “bachelor pad”… …The Lost Country ship that appeared in the depths of the dark fog was the same as he remembered, so why was the writing above this door different?

He withdrew his gaze from the doorframe and looked at the door panel in front of him – and the next moment, the door opened silently, as if by invitation.

The familiar captain’s cabin appeared before him, lit by a dim light, with all the furnishings and the goat’s head on the edge of the nautical table appearing in the light.

A goat’s head?
Duncan’s mind snapped.

He remembered that when he mistakenly entered the subspace, he did not see the goat’s head on the “wrecked Lost Country” on the side of the subspace, and there was no goat’s head on the “modeled Lost Country” in his bachelor’s apartment.

The existence or otherwise of the goat’s head seems to be a very subtle but crucial “point of difference” between the various “versions” of the Lost Country.

A series of conjectures and memories instantly surfaced in his mind, Duncan had already passed through the door of the captain’s cabin, he cautiously came to the nautical table, and his eyes looked towards the black “wood carving” on the edge of the table.

The goat’s head was still on its base, as motionless as a real wooden sculpture, and did not react to the captain’s approach.

Of course, this could also be because Duncan’s presence here at the moment was a mere “viewpoint” rather than a visible entity.

Duncan did not try to disturb the goat’s head on the table, but continued to watch cautiously.

Soon enough, he realized that something was wrong.

The chart on the table – that was supposed to be a sea chart, which was supposed to record the tracks the Lost Country had sailed on, the known city-states and shipping lanes on the infinite sea, and yet now it presented a picture that Duncan had never seen before – a completely unfamiliar “Map.”
It looked as if it were a forest viewed from the air, a miniature holographic projection of rolling ridges, huge plant structures, and strange locations scattered throughout the dense forest as if they were clusters of buildings, and the translucent icon symbolizing the Lost Country was floating in the air above the miniature projection, and was moving through the forest at a very slow speed.

With great consternation, Duncan stared at the strange “chart” for a long time.

Of course, he was unable to recognize any reference value from this completely unfamiliar map, but he recalled another strange chart he had previously seen on the wrecked Lost Country ship in subspace.

On that ship sailing in subspace, the chart also presented a strange scene: in a chaotic and dislocated unknown sea, there were chaotic and strange navigation records everywhere.

Now, he saw another unexplainable “chart” on this ship floating in the dark fog of the Lost Country, and this time …… it even showed that the ship was sailing in a forest!
A bizarre thought came to his mind – how many different ships are there?

How many different “versions” of the Lost Country were sailing in different dimensions at the same time, recording different routes?

At the same time that Duncan had this strange thought in his mind, a slight creaking sound suddenly came from the side, interrupting his thoughts.

He instantly turned his eyes in the direction from which the sound came.

The black goat’s head on the edge of the navigation table was turning its neck a little, turning its eyes this way.

A hint of sanity seemed to gradually appear in the pitch-black eyes carved out of obsidian.

In the next second, Duncan heard a hoarse, low voice reach his ears-

“Who’s there ……”
