Chapter 904: The Locked Up Continent
Chapter 891 – A Continent Locked Up
Sol was momentarily shaken by the starry sky outside the diaphragm.
Many speculations flashed through his mind, the first of which was whether the chaotic domain was floating in the universe? It was just protected by a diaphragm that wouldn’t disintegrate in the universe and didn’t have to fight against the dangers in the universe.
But this diaphragm didn’t seem to be a complete isolation, after all, it had leaked a hole, and there was no telling if this hole would eventually turn into a festering anthill.
Saul first examined the hole where the fate line had drilled out, and realized that the in and out of the fate line hadn’t affected the shape of the hole. And this tiny eye of a needle hadn’t leaked anything else from the world of the chaotic domain to the outside.
Even a speck of dust.
In other words, this rift was a hole for the Fate Thread, but not necessarily for this world.
After all, a rift the size of a needle’s eye can pass through many substances.
Slightly reassured, Sol continued to manipulate the Fate Line and continued to explore outwards.
But after continuing to explore outwards, Sol realized again that it wasn’t really the universe out there.
After drilling out the rift and extending it some more, Sol then saw land below the stars.
He then realized that where he was was supposed to be on a plane, or a surface.
It was only because when he initially drilled out of the rift, the rift was aligned with the starry sky, so he then saw only the starry sky.
“This is sort of sitting on a well and watching the sky.”
After all, on a spherical astral body, standing tall, one could see far.
He noticed that there seemed to be more bumps on the ground below.
But Saul couldn’t tell what those bumps were for the moment.
For here, there were no mountains, no deserts, no woods, and no rivers.
After ascending another long distance, Saul began to feel the strain, and he finally stopped, and endeavored to perceive the ground below.
And judging from the direction in which the stones were piled up, the gravity of this place was exactly the opposite of the chaotic domain that Saul was currently in.
A land that was even deadlier than the chaotic domain.
Saul continued to extend his destiny line upwards, and the starry sky above his head twinkled, reminding him of the stars in his consciousness space.
“Could the Chaotic Domain be a world that was thrown out into the cosmos, and this outer layer is a shell of dust that the protective layer has accumulated after long periods of roaming?”
He felt no discomfort or premonition of danger on the Fate Line, and continued upward.
Thor saw a land mass.
Kind of like the surface of the moon that Saul had seen in his already vague memories, but there were no meteorite-impacted craters, and the ground was fairly flat, except that it was still rough from the dirt and rock that made up the surface.
It was just a shame that the Fate Line wasn’t a complete substitute for visual perception, and the information Saul could pick up at such a distance was becoming fuzzy.
The two worlds existed as if they were foot to foot, close together.
The line continued to rise, rising to a certain height before turning back.
Grayish-white, huge as a hill, quiet and motionless.
Or rather, he is in the universe, but in a place where he can see it.
By this time, Saul’s mental powers had begun to destabilize, and exhaustion surged through him.
“Time to go back.”
The Destiny Line began to contract rapidly.
But I don’t know if it was because the arrival of the thread of fate had finally touched some power, but as it returned to the rift, a nearby ground suddenly shook for a moment, and then the dirt on the surface rustled and slid down.
Something grayish-white was revealed.
Sol accelerated its return.
He was no longer mentally stable now, and didn’t want to go directly head-to-head with the creatures here.
But he was still a step slow. As the thread of fate was about to retract back into the fissure, the grayish-white thing suddenly and completely burrowed out from under the dust.
With a lurch in his movement that was about to retract back, Saul came face to face with the newly appeared grayish-white sorcerous body, and then a few moments later, he once again commanded the thread of destiny and drilled it back into the ground completely.
The thread of fate returned to Saul’s body, and Saul immediately commanded the small algae to spit back the dirt mixed with black powder that he had just swallowed, restoring the mountain wall to its original state.
That thing didn’t come after him, and it didn’t even have a mental power fluctuation exploring this way.
Saul stood in place for a long time until a voice rang in his head.
Herbert: [Master, are you alright?
The conscious body in the diary didn’t see what Saul saw through the fate clues.
In their perception, Saul had stood still and froze for ten minutes.
“It’s okay.” Saul first soothed the somewhat uneasy body of consciousness didn’t, then cocked his head and said suspiciously, “I was just outside the chaotic domain, let’s call it outside, and I saw …… a human skeleton there.”
……
Shortly afterward, Saul returned to the rift and saw Ann, who had been waiting next to the cliff rift.
“Master, are you all right?” Ann greeted him.
“Anxious to wait?” Sol asked with a smile.
“A little worried.” Ann said matter-of-factly, “I’ve never been down to the very bottom of the bluff. In fact, I was the one who never found the bottom, and there’s an unknown terror there for me.”
Before Saul replied to Ann, he saw the little girl probing behind Ann, Lucia, who had been taken down by Ann earlier.
The girl had a round face, which was kind of cute in the chaotic domain, but …… she didn’t have a nose.
Or rather there was no sort of bulging nose, and there were two narrow holes above the mouth.
This would be a mutation that belonged to Lucia. The people of the chaotic domain basically had them, some mutations made them stronger, while others didn’t do much.
Scorpion’s mutation in the first place didn’t do much, so much so that he was one of the first to be abandoned when his tribe’s resources were in crisis.
But Scorpion was lucky enough to bring back a big snub afterward, and was sort of salted.
Ann turned around and saw Lucia, and with a glare in her eyes told her to go back.
Lucia spat out her tongue and retreated back to the tent.
An remembered that her previous conversation with Lucia was all overheard by Saul, and was a little embarrassed, “Her nasal passages mutated and she could smell the distinctive scent of white bones, so I would bring her out to look for the wreckage. After a long time, the little girl was quite well-behaved, so I took her as an apprentice.”
Ann spoke as if reporting.
“Of course, I won’t interfere in your private lives. Did you come up with Lucia’s name as well? People over here are usually used to one-letter names.”
“Yes, her original name was Deer. But I changed her name mainly because there are dozens of girls named Deer in Blackwater City alone. Their families always want to hunt a deer and come back while they’re out and about, so a lot of the kids are named after hunters.”
Is that such a plain and simple hope?
Saul’s newly somewhat tense nerves gradually relaxed as he walked back to the edge of the cliff, the sole of his shoe kicking a small stone.
The small stone flew out, landed in the crack, and kept descending, disappearing into the darkness, and eventually no sound came up.
“This chaotic domain should be a broken world side.”
Ann nodded, she had noticed it too.
Sol looked sideways at Ann, who had come up to her side and was standing side by side, “Do you know what the edge of the world side looks like?”
“I haven’t been to the world side, it’s basically occupied by powerful wizard forces and wizard families. However, I heard from the elders in the family that the world side is also very dangerous, if someone who is not powerful enough occupies the world side, they might also be the ones to be devoured by the world side in turn, turning it into the world’s sustenance.”
An frowned slightly, recalling the past, “They said that the world side is the incomplete world. That’s why it’s called world side, not small world. The incompleteness of the world side seems to be reflected in the fact that it has sides, and the sides are constantly breaking and reorganizing.”
“Is that so?” Saul crossed his arms, “But I found a diaphragm down there, and beyond the diaphragm is another world with no visible edges. It’s not like the side of the world here, it’s more like a continent that’s locked up.”
