Chapter 766: Temporary Sailors

Chapter 763 – Temporary Resident Sailor

After Duncan opened his eyes, everyone instantly came together.

The translucent green fire was still burning between the folds of the shroud, and Duncan blinked to extinguish the flames before they could completely destroy the shroud, and then he took a moment to gather the information that he had just seen before settling his gaze on the Sailor.

The dry body stood a little farther away, keeping its distance while not being able to stop itself from probing and looking this way, looking hesitant.

“Uncle Duncan, what do you see?” Nina came over and tugged on Duncan’s arm, tilting her head and asking with a worried and curious expression.

“…… Captain Kalani’s memories,” Duncan exhaled softly, not selling the story, “It records the Sea Song’s experiences after it got lost and the return voyage… …”

“The Sailor’s ears perked up and he unconsciously took small steps in this direction.

Duncan, for his part, did not hold back in the least in telling everything he had seen in that vision.

After his words fell, all eyes on the scene instantly fell on the “sailor” who had already moved to the coffee table with small steps.

Anomaly 077 was still stretching out his ears to listen to it, suddenly heard the matter of Captain Kalani handing over the route to the outer barrier to himself, suddenly his expression stiffened, noticed that everyone was looking at him and immediately took half a step back, staring at his eyes and waving his hands repeatedly: “Hey you guys don’t look at me ah, I don’t know about the route, what route ah! …… This I also confused ah!”

“It’s not bad, the movement of their chanting isn’t very noisy – but now I don’t sleep in the box half the time, the captain gave me a bed ……”

Frem: “……”

The “sailor” shut his mouth momentarily.

“Just as her logs crossed the border in this form, she may have left information about the ‘route’ with you in other ways as well, and even if the border distorts that information, interferes with your memories and even your self-awareness, this ‘route’ ‘ wouldn’t disappear – it would still be in you, in some ‘form’ that we don’t understand right now.”

“The Sailor thought hard and slapped his face, “Yes, I remember opening my eyes and lying in a box, two men in blue and black robes chanting and sprinkling ashes and spices on me, and a rocky Sanguine like you was about to nail a coffin lid on my head, and when I wouldn’t let him, he gave it to me. I wouldn’t let him, so he gave me a hammer – and then I opened my eyes and it was fucking 1864.”

The two anomalies were suddenly discussing very sinister topics like no one else, and Duncan couldn’t help himself halfway through the conversation, interrupting with a dry cough: “Ahem, this is not the time for that.”

“I’m not done yet,” Duncan waved his hand, “It may not matter whether you remember or not – because this important route may not have been simply ‘memorized’ in your mind from the start ‘ in your head, and Captain Kalani’s reference in her log to her ‘leaving the route in your hands’ is a phrase that concerns me …… She seems to have viewed the route as some sort of ‘object ‘, or …… some other ‘entity’, perhaps when she left that log she realized it would come to this.”

The living room was quiet for two seconds, the atmosphere seemed slightly awkward, Alice however seemed to be completely oblivious to this, seeing as no one else was talking she asked curiously, “Ah, so then what?”

The tall and silent Freem stared at him for half a day, at this time suddenly asked, “Then what do you remember? After returning to the Boundless Sea do you not have anything else that you remember more?”

“Really? Then what’s the quality of your sleep?”

Duncan paused at that, and after a moment’s reflection, his gaze fell back to the Shroud.

Only Alice was still muttering to the sailor, “Hey, how do you know it’s from 1864? Didn’t you just open your eyes and get stoned?”

“And? I was sitting up when I heard someone yell something next to me, I didn’t hear what exactly, and then I saw a girl come up and give me another hammer – and then I opened my eyes and it was 1901, and Captain Lawrence was trying to hold me down on the bridge with a bunch of sailors in flames, and I couldn’t resist … …what happened afterward you know ……”

“You don’t know?” Helena sniffed and furrowed her eyebrows, looking at the other party with great skepticism, “Captain Kalani said that he gave that route to you …… You don’t have any impression at all?”

“I’ll tell you what, I’ve slept in a crate before, and I’ve had people chanting and spilling and nailing next to it ……”

“Sailor” exclaimed from the bottom of his heart, “I envy you for being able to sleep ……”

“First of all, I’ll take your word for it that you should indeed have forgotten about ‘The Line’,” Duncan said to Anomaly 077 with a serious look on his face as he adjusted his expression, “but what was recorded in Captain Kalani’s journal must be true as well, and the ‘route’ is in you.”

“I don’t have it!” The dryad opened his hands, looking even more confused than when he was just thrown out of the portal by Aey, “I just remembered about the logs, and remembered them vaguely …… You guys do know that I can’t even remember exactly how I returned to the ship back then!”

Everyone in the parlor stared at each other, Helena coughed awkwardly, Duncan spread his hands slightly helplessly, and everyone began to try to divert their attention away from the topic ……

“Sailor” opened his mouth and pointed at himself, “What if I don’t remember ……”

“I asked Captain Lawrence about it later, and he said that it was the only time in history that I came close to losing control of the ship completely …… In addition, I actually woke up several other times, but I don’t remember any of those …… “

“The Sailor listens in stunned silence, and seems to be getting convinced, but then he suddenly gets a little skeptical: “…… Can Captain Kalani really do something like this? I thought it was just some sort of ‘accident’ that her log turned out the way it did …… After all, she’s only mortal ……”

“But she has faced our Lord directly before,” Helena suddenly broke the silence, “and any mortal can hardly be regarded as purely ‘mortal’ after having faced the gods directly …… ‘ anymore.”

“Sailor” stopped talking. “We will need some time to deliberate on how to organize our next actions, including verifying the information on whether or not the ‘route’ really exists on you,” Duncan said with an extraordinarily serious expression as he looked into Anomaly 077’s eyes,” But either way, you’ll have to be with us for the next while – to sail with the Lost Country if necessary, so be prepared for that.”

“The Sailor shivered visibly at this, “Huh? I thought it was just a matter of coming over to deliver a piece of information ……”

Duncan looked at him silently.

“The Sailor’s expression instantly changed, “Of course, as you know, I’ve been a loyal member of the Lost Country Fleet from the beginning, and it’s been my lifelong desire to ride on that legendary expedition ship ……”

Duncan’s face relaxed as he smiled and nodded, the others also smiled at the sailor, Sherry even stepped forward to pat the other’s thin arm, “Don’t be nervous, the captain’s actually quite nice! And it’s not boring to stay on the ship, there’s all kinds of fun every day …….”

She didn’t have the heart to say that she was also one of the biggest “hilarity” on the ship ……

Everyone was happy, except for Helena, who watched the scene with a complicated expression.

She still couldn’t help but think of the warriors who had come to the ark to receive their blessings not long ago when the Sea Song was preparing to depart, and remembered those positive, determined and faith-filled faces.

It was still hard for her to believe that those warriors had faded away into the long hours of time – even the only one who had returned to this world had become like this.

“It’s time for us to leave,” the Popeess sighed softly, “We’ve been intruding here for too long – there’s a lot waiting for me and Frem on the other side of the Church.”

Duncan glanced up at the mechanical clock on the wall across the living room and realized that the day was over.

“I will not see you off then,” he said casually, “I have some things to arrange as well.”

Helena nodded, and after saying goodbye to the others, she and Frem turned towards the door – but as she was about to leave she stopped abruptly and looked back at Duncan.

After a brief hesitation, she said, “The border rally point for the Church of the Deep is located on the southeastern border, near the waters where you last rendezvoused with the ‘Tidal Wave’.”

“Understood,” Duncan nodded gently, “I will contact you before we depart.”

The two Popes departed, and a few moments later there were two vehicles out the window heading off into the vast night beyond.

Silence returned to the living room for a moment, and Shirley was the first to stretch long and hard, “Yawn …… I’m sleepy, I’m going back to bed!”

Vanna and Maurice also followed and left the living room.

“There are still quite a few empty rooms here,” Lucrecia, as the hostess of the place, began to arrange the accommodation for the ‘new members’ at the moment, she looked at the dryad in front of her twice, “Do you have any requirements for the room? Floor or ventilation wise.”

“No, no,” the dry corpse instantly waved his hands, looking rather nervous, “Just find me a place to stay at random, I don’t sleep anyway ……”

His gaze suddenly fell on the staircase railing not far away.

“Hey, this railing is good, you guys give me a rope, I’ll hang here is quite good, the front is also sunrise, just in the morning can bask in the sun …… Oh, although recently there is no sun ……”

“Are you sure?” Duncan raised an eyebrow at that, “Let me remind you that Nina wakes up the earliest every day, and that girl is prone to waking up in a daze, and if she comes down the stairs in a daze and looks up and sees you hanging from the railing, it won’t be a simple shock – you’ll really be seeing the sun. ”

“You must stay in your room!” Lucrecia was beside herself with anxiety, and immediately said to the dryad, “Don’t really scare Nina – I’ll lose my house by then.”

Nina whispers behind Duncan, “I’m actually in pretty good control now ……”

“Sailor” blinked, listening to the words of Captain Duncan and the witch lady, and watched the “sun shard” face aggrieved next to the muttering appearance, suddenly felt …… here The atmosphere seems to be different from what I imagined.

It’s not bad.

He pulled the corner of his mouth, revealing a somewhat frightening smile.

“Okay, I’m at your disposal.”

(Happy New Year everyone!)
