Chapter 6: Mudbloods

Chapter 6 The Mud Legged Man

The next day, Chen Fei went to find the alchemist of the medical center after completing his duty of standing guard.

“You want the formula for the qi and blood elixir?” Zeng De Fang looked at Chen Fei with some surprise.

“May I?” Chen Fei asked archly.

After thinking about it for a day yesterday, Chen Fei finally decided to try alchemy, after all, this was one of the original reasons for staying in the medical center in the first place. As for the medical art, it was a complete system, Chen Fei did not know if the panel could be simplified.

Even if it could, but it was estimated to be a huge amount, Chen Fei was still short of money today.

Thus it would be more appropriate as far as alchemy was concerned, as long as Chen Fei learned to refine one type of elixir, he would have a relatively stable income, and after that, he would seek out higher level elixirs, creating a virtuous cycle.

“You’re a guard of the medical center, it’s nothing to give you a copy of the qi and blood elixir formula.”

Zeng De Fang nodded and said, “But it is only the most common qi and blood elixir formula, which does not contain some of the unique techniques of the medical hall. And if you want to open a furnace to refine it, you must pay for the herbs yourself, the medical center will not provide them for free.”

“This I understand.”

Chen Fei nodded, before proving that he possessed the ability to refine pills, the medical center would not provide herbs for free. And even if he proved that he could refine pills, it would still depend on the quality and texture of the finalized pills, and if it was too poor, the medical center would not accept it.

“Well, take it, just return it to me after three days.”

Zeng De Fang got up, rummaged through the cabinet behind him, and took out a pamphlet, handing it to Chen Fei.

“Thank you, Elder Zeng!” Chen Fei arched his hand in thanks.

“It’s fine.”

Zeng Defang waved his hand, no longer bothering with Chen Fei. Chen Fei was also sensible and softly left the pharmacy.

Zeng Defang looked at Chen Fei’s back and shook his head slightly. Like Chen Fei, those who wanted to learn alchemy and have a skill, Zeng De Fang had seen many of them, but there were very few who could truly get started and refine pills that would satisfy people.

In Zeng Defang’s opinion, Chen Fei should also be one of those who were not doing anything.

Chen Fei returned to his room and carefully looked over the Dan formula in his hands.

After burning incense, Chen Fei put down the formula in his hand and closed his eyes to recall what he had just seen.

The content recorded in the Dan formula was not complicated, it was an introduction of the medicinal materials needed for refining, as well as some of the medicinal properties of the medicinal materials and the matters that needed to be paid attention to when refining.

The formula was only a few thin pages, and thus many things were very briefly described. If one wanted to rely on such a formula to completely refine the Qi and Blood Pill, one would at least have to fail dozens, if not hundreds, of times before there would be any possibility at all.

And that’s still if you’re gifted enough to succeed like this.

If you are not fit to eat this bowl of rice, even if you fail a few hundred times, I’m afraid you won’t be able to get started. Because this alchemy is actually just like practicing martial arts, especially with one’s talent.

Sometimes if you can do it, you can, and if you can’t, you can’t.

[Alchemy: Qi and Blood Dan (Uninitiated)]

A new note appeared on the panel while new simplified information flashed, Chen Fei’s face couldn’t help but show a hint of a smile as the simplification of the Qi and Blood Dan only required one or two silver.

Chen Fei’s first alchemy choice for the Qi and Blood Dan was that this elixir was basic enough. The more basic it was, the less silver taels would be needed to simplify it, this was an experience that Chen Fei had recently worked out.

And although the qi and blood elixir was basic, the audience was not at all small.

Whether it was those martial artists who had just come into contact with martial arts, or those who were at the Skin Training Realm in general with Chen Fei, the Qi and Blood Pill possessed a notable effect, allowing one to have a strong qi and blood flow, and to cultivate martial arts techniques better and faster. Even the higher level Flesh Training Realm, when they were usually strapped for cash, would purchase Qi and Blood Pills to take, and the effect would still be there as well, just a little weaker.

Thus, if Chen Fei could refine a qi and blood elixir, he would not worry about selling it at all, after all, amongst the group of martial artists, there would always be more at the bottom.

“Panel, Simplified Qi and Blood Dan!”

“Qi and Blood Dan simplification in progress …… Simplification successful …… Qi and Blood Dan → Fried Pork Liver!”

“……”

Chen Fei blinked his eyes, almost thinking that he had misread it, after the qi and blood dan was simplified, it turned into a stir-fried dish, and it was also a stir-fried pork liver?
Was there any necessary connection between the two?
Both tonify blood and both require the use of fire?

Chen Fei was a little confused about the connotation of panel simplification, but from refining pills to stir-frying vegetables, Chen Fei’s certainty grew at once. Stir frying something like this was something that the average person would be able to do, and it was nothing more than a difference in flavor.

Chen Fei was plotting to go to the market tomorrow to buy some pig livers, while amongst the medical center, gossip about him began to circulate.

There wasn’t anything special, it was the matter of Chen Fei taking a qi and blood dan formula from Zeng De Fang, which spread out and became the talk of many people after tea.

Two days ago, Chen Fei had just clashed with Pu Liao and was treated as a rash youth. Now he turned his head and went to get a Dan Fang, presuming to become an alchemist, making many people happy.

Not only were those who were also retainers mocking Chen Fei, even those handymen who heard these two things felt that Chen Fei didn’t know the heights of heaven and earth.

Those servants were originally a bit jealous and envious of Chen Fei, who was also a servant and had now become a retainer, but now that there was more of this kind of thing, they were naturally happy to taunt him.

“Not practicing martial arts properly, but still presuming to become an alchemist. Alchemist is something that a mud legged person like him can think about, he simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

On the wine table, Pu Liao threw a few peanuts into his mouth, and in his words, he looked extremely disdainful towards Chen Fei.

“Just because he used to be a leg of clay, now that he has a chance, he’s desperately trying to climb up the ladder. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know that sometimes a mud leg can only be a mud leg for the rest of his life.” The companion laughed.

“Originally I had thought that he would be able to get on a bit, and it’s not like I couldn’t bring him along. As a result, he even asked me for the secret book directly, at that time, if it wasn’t within the medical center, I would have wanted to slap him in the face.” Pu Liao coldly said.

“It’s still Brother Pu who has good composure, in the place of a few of us, I guess we would have been unable to hold back a long time ago!”

“Don’t talk about him anymore, just a laughing stock.”

Pu Liao waved his hand and said, “There will be plenty of ways to cure him in the future, do you really think that the secret book given by me, Pu Liao, is that good to receive!”

The gossip within the medical center had yet to reach Chen Fei’s ears, who was currently in the middle of stir-frying pig livers over a fire in an abandoned courtyard.

The pig livers were fresh, all just bought at the market. After frying it later, Chen Fei also planned to eat it himself, after all, it was also considered meaty.

After becoming a medical center nurse, the food given by the medical center has been much better, there is some meat foam in every meal, and there is some big meat every few days.

But for a martial artist, especially an extremely strapped martial artist like Chen Fei, any bit of meat and fish could not be spared.

In just a few moments, a hint of meat flavor came out from the pot. In his previous life, Chen Fei actually knew how to cook, although he could only do some home cooking, but dealing with a fried pork liver was naturally no problem.

Stir fry, start the pan, plate.

The steaming hot fried pork liver was completed in such a simple manner, Chen Fei looked at the panel.
