Chapter 825 – Seven Second Memory

Chapter 825 – Seven Second Memory
“Interesting.” Looking at Alfonso who suddenly appeared, Saul thought to himself, “I’ve been chatting with Xander for so long, and I didn’t see him come over, and he just popped his head up when he saw this mermaid. It’s hard to believe that this mermaid is special other than being good looking?”

Saul’s heart had begun to stir, but on the surface, he still didn’t move and turned back, “I heard that there’s a real mermaid princess here, so I came over to see how it’s different from the other mermaids.”

Alfonso stepped around Sol and walked in first, “Pearl is the mermaid with the strongest royal bloodline. But that’s about it, in other ways, she’s not special. Not even as good as Coral in terms of intelligence and mental body.”

He walked over to the glass wall and placed his hand on the glass.

Pearl immediately sank down in curiosity, staring wide-eyed at Alfonso’s palm against the wall, and tried to move closer.

Just then, Alfonso’s hand suddenly turned over and his knuckles hit the glass with a very loud thud.

Pearl, who was just about to approach, was startled, and the whole fish panicked, flipping several times in the water, wagging its tail, and swaying all the way to the corner of the room, and then looked at Alfonso in horror.

Alfonso, his face expressionless and the corners of his mouth downturned, turned to Saul and said, “I’ve done this trick a dozen times, and every time she’s been startled.”

Thor thought it was funny, but couldn’t be bothered to laugh, so he tapped his hands together, “I heard that fish only have a seven-second memory.”

He walked over to the glass as well and waited seven seconds, then followed Alfonso’s example and placed his hands on the glass.

Alfonso frowned, “It’s not so bad that it’s only seven seconds, usually by the next day she forgets ……”

Before the words were out of his mouth, Alfonso’s eyes widened.

Because the pearl in the corner really was back.

She stared at her milky white eyes glowing with pearlized light and approached Saul’s palm with curiosity like she had just done.

As Pearl came closer, Saul also knocked on the wall, and was surprised to see Pearl swim back to the corner in fear.

After that, Saul counted to seven seconds and repeated the same action.

Once again, Pearl is lured out of the corner.

Alfonso’s frown grew tighter.

Saul didn’t scare Pearl this time, allowing the other man to observe his palm through the glass.

He looked at the clueless Pearl and said what Alfonso hadn’t said, “Is this mermaid princess’s intelligence …… continuing to decrease?”

Alfonso’s brow furrowed into a knot.

Saul tugged on the mermaid he had led over, “I want to see the difference between mermaid royalty and ordinary mermaids, can I take some samples from Pearl?”

Alfonso’s lips pursed white for a few seconds before he spoke, “What kind of sample do you want?”

Saul counted them one by one, “At least a vial of blood as well, a palm-sized amount of skin, and if possible, I’d like to intercept a bone, preferably a spine ……”

“Enough!” Alfonso suddenly bellowed.

Sol looked up blankly and looked at the other with an innocent expression, “What’s wrong? Are pearls as rare and precious as the mermaid royal bloodline?”

Alfonso said with some difficulty, “Pearl is one of the mermaids with the most return manifestations among the current returning mermaids. You can see that her tail is all green-colored scales. Although her intelligence is a bit lower, she is also an important experimental subject. I’m also studying how to extract a sufficient concentration of the mermaid royal bloodline from her, so you can’t move around for now.”

Looking at Saul who seemed to still want to fight for a bit, Alfonso hurriedly added, “You can look at Pearl as the current Alessandra. It may be true that she is not as precious, but she is still irreplaceable at the moment. You can see that her tail scales are all green in color, very much like the Green Scale Clan mentioned in the ancient books. I won’t easily turn Pearl into an experimental material until I’m sure.”

Having said that, regardless of whether or not Saul recognized it, Alfonso was already ready to send off, he raised his palms at Saul, a preparatory action for his impending instantaneous movement.

“If you really want to study returning mermaids, go look in the Red Sea, you can also find ones with higher bloodline concentration. When you can determine the direction of your experiments through other returning mermaids, I’ll bring you back to study the pearls.”

Saul asked rhetorically, “There are still returning mermaids in the Red Sea?”

“Not many, but there are. Okay, don’t resist.”

Saul wasn’t going to dwell on it much at this point, and he could still use the name of visiting Xander to see the mermaids in the future anyway.

However, Alfonso’s palm was halfway up, but he didn’t even perform a teleportation.

“What’s wrong?” Saul didn’t even feel the ripples in space.

Alfonso had a tangled face and slowly retracted his hand, “Lord Frim has something to summon all the third-ranked wizards to go over immediately.”

Normally Alfonso should have gone over immediately, but he was still a bit relieved. He once again instructed Saul, “Pearl is currently the only sample, no matter what, you should not move her until I give my consent.”

“Okay, I won’t move.” Saul nodded his head, displaying a look of reluctance and having to agree.

Alfonso couldn’t wait any longer, he glanced at Pearl and then his figure disappeared.

“Probably went to the Judgment Court.” Sol’s face immediately relaxed.

Saul rejoined the glass.

Pearl inside the glass was still lying across from Saul, only now her gaze was looking at the place where Alfonso had disappeared, as if she didn’t understand how the person had suddenly disappeared.

At this point, Penny, who is watching the scene, says in her diary.

[Hee hee hee, brother Saul, didn’t you say you couldn’t move her?

Saul held the mermaid, “Yeah, I’m not moving.”

He gave a gentle push to the mermaid who was floating up by the floating technique.

Saul’s mermaid flew towards the glass and surprisingly went straight through and fell into the water-filled room across the room.

In the water, the mermaid showed a smile and seemed comfortable.

Saul knew that the one controlling the mermaid’s body at this time was the quasi-fifth-ranked sorcerer Floco, so he didn’t deliberately remind him.

Penny, on the other hand, chirped.

[Quickly! Draw her blood, peel her skin, and break one of her bones.]

Saul ignores Penny and fingers the water.

“Honorable Floco, don’t do damage that can’t be repaired.”

Floco could hear Saul’s voice even though he was in the water.

He nodded and then approached the pearl.

Pearl sees Floco flying towards the glass and is first scared, then quickly curious as he approaches Flom.

Froome doesn’t draw blood, he just steps forward and takes Pearl’s hand.

Pearl, confused, is held by Floco, and surprisingly, subconsciously looks at Saul outside the glass.

Realizing that Pearl was looking at himself, Saul waved his hand as well, and then he noticed that Pearl’s expression became even more bewildered.

“Why does she have this expression?”

Without waiting for Sol to figure it out, Floco ran out of the water with that ugly fish face.

The whole process took less than a minute. Not even a drop of water was brought out from inside.

“This so-called mermaid princess, what flows in her body isn’t my bloodline either.”

“Isn’t Pearl a Cyan Scale Clan?”

“It should be some side branch with a mixed bloodline.” Floco looked a little disappointed.

Perhaps deep down he still wanted to find his bloodline descendants.

Not lost for long, Floco raised his hand and a drop of dark red liquid floated from his palm towards Sol.

“This is the bloodline I extracted from her, only a small portion of it will not affect her body. As long as outsiders don’t drain her blood to check, they won’t notice that some is missing. It will repair itself in a couple months.”

This really helped Saul, he hastily put away the mermaid bloodline, “Thanks a lot.”

“By the way, there is one more thing.” Floco said hesitantly, “I don’t know if you care, but her mental body has been artificially damaged. By very clever means. I’m afraid you’d all agree that it was innate.”

The next chapter is in the evening, it’s double monthly, thanks for the support, readers and lords!
