Chapter 776 – Sixth and Seventh Order
Chapter 776 – Sixth and Seventh Order
Going back from the Grand Lecture Hall, Sol entered the inner city where only formal wizards of Sky City could reside and turned into a quiet alley.
The wall stacks on both sides of the alley were filled with pink and white tweed flowers. Every day they bloomed and shriveled, showing proof of their power from head to toe.
Saul didn’t live in the inn anymore, but used his identity as a first-order sorcerer to rent a small two-story building of uniform size here, and personally set up a grassroots sorcery spell formation inside and out.
During this time he was basically certain that Sky City was sealing off the city in a covert manner.
Although there were people who were able to leave, they were bound to be carefully screened, and those who weren’t allowed wouldn’t even be able to bring a single message out.
Saul did not personally try to see if he could leave Sky City.
He still had important things to do, and didn’t really want to leave Sky City.
Also this was a bottom line.
If he personally tried to find out if he could leave, once he was rejected, the fragile balance of interests between him and Ophelia could easily be broken.
Even if the other party would still help him connect to the Illusory World because of the influence of the karma theory, it was not certain what would become of their relationship after this matter.
Since he couldn’t leave Sky City for a short period of time, Saul couldn’t always stay at the inn, so with Nathan’s introduction, he moved to this small building.
After returning to the small building, the first thing Saul did was to go and talk to the Water God.
A month had passed since the last time he communicated with the Water God, and now he was certain that he could pull the Water God into the consciousness platform again.
And with preparations this time, the consciousness platform would last longer than last time.
However, when Sol saw the white cat again, he realized that his mental fluctuations were much worse than the last time he met.
“What’s wrong with you?”
The white cat was originally lying on the ground, and immediately resumed its elegant crouch when it saw Sol coming over.
“It’s nothing, it’s just that I haven’t been able to make any offerings these days, so I’m not in very good shape.”
Ever since Sol took away the white porcelain cat’s main body, Nathan had suspended the propagation of replicas. Lacking souls to help the Water God counteract the curse of the deep sea, he was left to carry it hard on his own, which naturally consumed his mind.
Saul hadn’t gotten a good understanding of the Water God’s state yet, so this time he went straight up to check.
The white cat-like Water God was originally a bit wary, but he suddenly remembered the look that Saul displayed as he transformed into a winding curve, and in the end, he didn’t move around.
Sol checked and took two steps back, “The seal on you is very powerful, no wonder it transformed into a deep sea in your world of consciousness.”
The Water God, however, shook his head, “Actually, this seal was originally even more terrifying, it’s just that after hundreds of years, it was weakened by time. I was also only able to sense the outside world more than ten years ago, and it was only in the last two years that I was able to offset the curse a little, allowing the seal to break a little faster.”
Thor simply sat on the circular platform as well, facing the white cat.
“Aren’t you the Water God? Why would you be sealed? And still with the deep sea like this ……”
Sealing a self-proclaimed Water God’s existence with water was also quite a hard taunt.
“…… You’d better not call me Water God. My real name is Floco.”
Thinking about the reason for being sealed, the white cat’s spine curved slightly and straightened up again in an instant.
“Actually, I accidentally offended another Fifth Order when I was traveling through the Stargate. At that time, I had just been promoted and my heart was high and proud, as a result, I was directly destroyed by a few blows to my main body, and my mental body was nearly annihilated, or the enemy left my consciousness behind and sealed it in the deep sea in order to humiliate me.”
When Floco said this, his tone was light and somewhat relieved. These things had been pressed in the bottom of his heart for hundreds of years, and the original indignation and excitement had all dissipated, and saying them out to Saul instead added a hint of relief.
Saul listened to Floco’s story, his heart chilled, “Both are fifth-order sorcerers, are the ones outside the Stargate that much more powerful than you?”
“The higher the rank, the greater the gap in strength between the same rank. You are not yet a fifth order and you don’t know it well, in fact, the minimum requirement of the fifth order is to be able to pass through the stargate and travel to all walks of life with your own strength. As long as you can do it, are the fifth order, may do between the fifth order, strength than the apprentice and the fourth order of sorcerer between the gap are big. That’s why many people are unwilling to cross the stargate even if they have the strength of the fifth order, just because they’re afraid of encountering a situation like mine.”
“The gap in strength between fifth-order sorcerers is surprisingly so large.” Saul was suddenly curious about what the requirements were for reaching the sixth order again.
He thought that when Floco was alive, the wizard world here should not have been closed, so perhaps he knew exactly what the strength of a high rank wizard should be like.
So Saul asked directly.
Floco wasn’t surprised, everyone would be interested in the top levels of strength.
The group of sorcerers was even more of a curious existence.
“Although you’re still only at the third order …… however, there’s no harm in telling you.”
“An existence of the fifth rank can be promoted to the sixth rank as long as they can manage to completely destroy a world. Note that it’s complete destruction, killing all the humans on the continent like this doesn’t count. It is said, it is said, that the most powerful kind of Sixth Order can directly disintegrate a world by simply adjusting one of the underlying rules.”
“Tsk!” Sol couldn’t help but smack his lips.
“As for the seventh rank, in that world of mine, it’s known as a Creator. That is, you can create a world independently.”
“This, on the contrary, is similar to popular mythology.”
Floco was still talking, “Ironic, isn’t it? A Sixth Order wants to destroy the world, but a Seventh Order wants to create it.”
Sol nodded, “But there are signs. Wizards are like that. Chasing knowledge, learning knowledge, understanding knowledge, mastering knowledge, questioning knowledge, and finally creating knowledge with knowledge.”
Floco looked at Saul in a daze, “You’re talking like a sorcerer with these words.”
“Didn’t I look like one before?” Saul asked with a smile.
“Do I need to say what you were like before?” Water God Fluke muttered in his mind, but didn’t want to bring up that term again.
Finally having a slight understanding of strength after the fifth rank, Sol considered for a moment and brought up another matter.
“Floco, if we follow the previous progress, how long will it take you to remove the seal?”
The white cat’s tail flicked slowly from the left to the right, “It’ll probably take a few hundred more years. How easy is it to try to scoop the ocean dry with a small spoon? But I’ve been locked up for hundreds of years, so I’m long past the point of being in a hurry. Anyway, as long as the people in the outside world still have the idea of praying for luck, they will naturally send me offerings.”
A fourth-ranked sorcerer was basically an immortal existence, and a few hundred years was even less long for a fifth-ranked sorcerer, but who would want to be trapped in the body of a cat if it was possible?
Saul leaned forward, his arm resting on his knee, and revealed a compelling smile.
“Floco, it’s hard to scoop up dry seawater, but setting off a tsunami sometimes just takes a big bang. Have you ever considered getting out of a trap that way?”
Floco looked up at Thor with a “finally here” solemnity in his cat eyes.
“Of course I’ve considered it, but I’m just a cat who can’t even speak where I’m sealed, and I can’t do anything other than pass on some luck.”
Sol patted his knee, “But didn’t you meet me now?”
The white cat nodded slowly and said with a bit of curtness, “Yes, it’s been hundreds of years, and this lucky power always feeds back to myself.”
