Chapter 765 – Third Level Apprentice Nathan
Chapter 765 – Third Level Apprentice Nathan
The staircase classroom was quiet for a minute.
Saul frowned with a look of disappointment.
“Can’t anyone read such a simple question?”
Saul’s words jolted all the apprentices in the stepped classroom like a bell ringing.
Only David, who had just been transformed into a locator, was still sitting in his chair with his eyes closed in serious meditation.
He understood that this might be his only chance to be promoted to a full-fledged wizard.
Coupled with Saul’s reminder just now, he naturally wouldn’t be distracted from other things.
But under Saul’s reminder, there was finally a third level apprentice who raised his hand.
“Instructor Saul, is it a good idea to choose a locator that suits you?”
“That’s anyone’s guess.” Sol waved his hand, clearly disapproving.
A few more people followed up with answers, something about matching attributes and catering to oneself, but Saul always shook his head.
At this time, the apprentice in the middle of the last row suddenly spoke up, “Mentor, are you trying to say that it’s important to perceive yourself clearly?”
Although the one who answered the question wasn’t Saul’s target, it didn’t matter though.
“That’s right. If you can’t recognize yourself, then there’s no need to mention any adaptations or attributes ……”
Sol went on briefly about how to understand your attributes and know what you’re better at.
“…… Of course, everyone’s situation is very complicated, and the way I said may not be adapted to everyone, but this is exactly what you need to think about as sorcerer apprentices. If you just take in information rigidly, then even a cat could be a wizard.”
“Meow?”
Kate, who was sprawled out in the window of the large lecture hall, stated having been offended.
Perhaps seeing that Saul could still joke and wasn’t as serious and unoffendable as the other lecturers, an apprentice sitting in the front row carefully raised his hand to ask a question.
“Mentor, can you give us another example of how to recognize the self?”
Saul walked down the aisle with his hands behind his back and paused for a moment beside the apprentice who asked the question, who immediately had a few drops of sweat seeping from his forehead.
Saul thought to himself, “I haven’t even begun to scare you yet.”
He continued to walk forward, “I hope you are genuinely hoping that I will give you an example, rather than using you to give an example in place of your thinking process. Such a you will quickly become alienated even if you advance to a full-fledged sorcerer.”
Saul kept walking to the last row and suddenly pointed at his target, “I’ll pick a random person to give you an example. What’s your name?”
The target apprentice was a bit surprised, not expecting Saul to pick him.
One must know that the previous lecturers never cared about the apprentices in the last row of them.
Still, he stood up, “Tutor, my name is Nathan.”
Saul nodded, purposely not looking at him, as if he really was just a random apprentice.
“Just now, Sorceress Laura has already told me that the apprentices in the last row are all apprentices with high hopes of promotion, so they usually don’t care about your progress. But that’s precisely why my using you as an example won’t affect your own thinking, since you’ve already thought about it all pretty much.”
Saul waved his hand, “I’ll be checking up on you, don’t resist.”
Without even giving Nathan a chance, Saul finished and scanned the man from head to toe with his mental power.
Nathan was a bit stunned.
His expression was strange, seemingly surprised, but mixed with a bit of realization.
Saul took Nathan’s change of mood to heart, “He’s a little surprised, but it doesn’t seem to be that he’s surprised that I’m using him as an example, there’s also some certainty that this is going to happen. Did he have a premonition that I would do this? Or had a premonition that what happened today would happen?”
White Porcelain Cat!
Saul realized plainly that this Nathan was afraid that he had also made use of the White Porcelain Cat’s ability!
“So I kind of turned out to be lucky for him? Or he was lucky to appear in front of me while I was waiting at the Broken Tower.”
No wonder Saul met Nathan after waiting for only two days.
So it was a two-way run!
Sol smiled and began to go along with the white porcelain cat’s luck, telling Nathan about him.
“You’re well endowed, with a stable mental power and sufficient magical reserves. Your locator also fits your body quite well.”
Naturally, Saul couldn’t reveal all of Nathan’s situation to the others, but only spoke of the several ways Nathan could learn about himself.
The apprentices in the entire classroom turned around, including the other two in the last row, and then all of them started taking notes.
There was a slight wait for Saul to finish talking about a few generalized methods.
A bit of anxiety then appeared on Nathan’s face. Obviously these explanations from Saul were valuable, but they were not enough to satisfy his needs.
Saul became more and more certain of his suspicions before continuing, “Your locator proves that you know yourself well enough, but ……”
A “but” that put Nathan back on edge.
“Your locator is overbearing and you, well, lazy.”
“Mentor Saul, Nathan is actually working very hard.” It was still the apprentice in the last row who answered the question who spoke for Nathan.
“It’s not enough.” Sol, however, denied the thoughts of the bystanders, “I think it might be that you were too lucky to get a fairly correct answer after only a few efforts, which led to the fact that even though you got the questions right, you didn’t summarize the real laws embedded in the questions. So you …… are about to suppress your locator now, right?”
Saul smiled, this time he didn’t help Nathan transform the locator, instead he walked slowly and leisurely back to the podium with his hands behind his back.
In stark contrast to Saul’s leisure were the shocked expressions of the other apprentices.
They looked at Nathan one after another.
Saul’s last words were clearly a reminder to Nathan that he was already in a dangerous state.
Could it be that this one of the geniuses in the class was actually the poor bastard who was already going to be alienated?
Of course, no one dared to say what was on their minds, but the sight of them looking back at Nathan from time to time had already revealed their true intentions.
Nathan clenched his fists and his face went a shade of red and white, but he didn’t explain anything, just sat back down after Sol left.
Although a class was a morning long, close to four hours, no lecturer really lectured all the time.
So after this lecture, Saul let the apprentices in the classroom examine themselves, and was not allowed to ask him questions.
Instead, Saul closed his eyes and meditated while thinking about how he could continue to communicate with Pelle of the Illusory World if he had Ophelia’s help.
This was obviously the real purpose of his visit.
He waited until noon, when Saul heard a special bell, like a bird’s call.
Only then did he get up and leave the classroom.
Immediately after Saul left, the apprentices in the classroom whispered about him, the new substitute lecturer, praising him for his real skills, and fearing and celebrating.
At that moment, a middle-aged man hurried into the classroom and came straight to the last row, “Nathan, lend me some money.”
Nathan had wanted to go after Sol immediately, but was stopped by the visitor, but with a surprised face and without any impatience.
“Paul? You don’t have to go with the airboat now?”
Paul was exactly the third level sorcerer apprentice who had interrogated Sol in the airship.
He was expressionless and looked a bit gloomy.
“There was a death on the airboat, and now that it’s being impounded and searched, I can only bring Mina to stay at Green Lane first.”
Nathan asked curiously as he pulled out his money, “How is it that a dead person needs to have an airboat impounded now?”
Paul shook his head, “I don’t know, it’s just that Sky City seems to be under martial law right now, it’s easy to come in, but you have to go through a strict search to get out.”
Nathan’s expression twitched, but still quickly said indifferently, “Whatever happens, it’s the business of those bigwigs, and has nothing to do with us sorcerer apprentices.”
Paul said, “I hope so.”
After leaving the Grand Lecture Hall, Saul did not go back to the inn immediately.
He took a look around the neighborhood and then met Wizard Laura.
Laura seemed to have heard about the content of Saul’s class from the other apprentices and was a bit surprised.
It was rare that a full-fledged wizard would go to lecture on locomotion.
For one thing, it was equivalent to a pressed skill, and for another, even a first-order formal sorcerer’s understanding of locator was limited, so it would be a shame if he was asked by an apprentice.
“Sorcerer Saul is really powerful, I think you’ll soon be able to enter the House of Seeking Knowledge.”
Sol was about to reply when he suddenly realized a familiar magic wave approaching, so the reply became ……
“I hope so, but there are times when I …… really lack a bit of luck. This time, coming to Sky City didn’t go as smoothly as I had previously envisioned.” He said with a bitter smile.
With a sincere face.
