Chapter 764 Field modification of locator
Chapter 764 Field Modification Locator
Saul signed the substitution agreement on the spot.
Though the paycheck was pitifully small.
After signing the substitute agreement, Laura didn’t delay for a second, slipped him a copy of the previous instructor’s lesson plan and left.
Saul stepped up to the podium, casually seated some of the apprentices who had stood up to salute, and began to look through the lesson plan.
He hadn’t taught much of anyone else, and his only current apprentice was still a level one apprentice and part-time cleric.
So he had never thought about how to give a lesson.
But since he had decided to approach the boy without the power of sorcery so that the abnormality in him wouldn’t disappear, Saul naturally wanted to draw the two closer together first.
It would be best if the boy could take the initiative to come up and contact him.
In an instant Saul thought of his persona, a young sorcerer with some skill, some arrogance, but often poor luck.
Saul quickly went through half of the previous instructor’s lesson plan, and also realized that they had talked about how to use composite runes to improve otherwise simple sorcery spells, making them more effective, less energy intensive, and so on.
Most of the students below weren’t paying attention to Saul’s movements, they were more likely to be munching on heavy sorcery books or writing their own study notes.
It didn’t seem like they really cared about what this class was going to be about.
Saul looked at the class schedule, third level apprentices only had two classes a week, and one class lasted one morning.
And what was in this lesson plan could be taught for a year.
Saul snapped and threw the two-finger thick lesson plan back at the podium with a loud clang.
Several of the sorcerer apprentices sitting in the classroom were startled and looked nervously at the new lecturer, fearing that he was also going to look at anyone who didn’t look good enough to be beaten up.
Here, it was all too common for senior apprentices to bully lower level apprentices, and for lecturers to bully apprentices.
Some people relied on their special status or ability to stay out of it, while others couldn’t stand it and walked away.
But most of the apprentices still stayed in the Grand Lecture Hall, after all, this was the cheapest academy out there.
As long as they still wanted to continue to advance, these apprentices with little background could only endure the humanistic environment here, and then work hard to study hard, hoping to advance to full-fledged sorcerer one day.
Saul’s sudden action of slamming the book scared some of the apprentices in front of him, but the further back the apprentices were, the smaller the reaction was.
Especially those in the last row didn’t even raise their heads a bit, concentrating on their own business.
And Saul’s target was resting his chin, looking sideways at the sky outside the window, and didn’t know what he was thinking.
Saul ignored them for the time being, and instead propped his arms on the podium, leaned forward with his upper body, and said in a somewhat higher tone than usual, “Let me introduce myself first, my name is Saul, and I’m your substitute lecturer. Unsurprisingly, I won’t be here for very long, so I’ll be arranging my own lectures for this time. If any of you still want to learn the lessons on the program, you can come over and study on your own, and as long as you don’t make any noise, I don’t care if you listen to me or not.”
As soon as Saul’s words fell, everyone looked at each other in disbelief, and there were also some people who immediately took out other books and started reading them.
The three apprentices in the last row still didn’t have any reaction.
Saul did not panic, his left hand snapped his fingers, the left side of his body was immediately a mass of red smoke and quickly condensed into a few large letters.
Locator Selection.
The eyes of the several third level apprentices who had been paying attention to Saul immediately widened.
“I noticed that while you all have a connection to your own locator now, most of them don’t have a strong connection.”
Saul walked off the podium as he spoke, casually picking up an apprentice sitting in the first row and pulling him to the front.
“Just like this apprentice, who went through the trouble of finding a locator that didn’t suit him, and then pushed himself and remodeled himself to fit into the one that didn’t suit him.”
Saul nonchalantly ripped open the apprentice’s robe with one hand, revealing the chest inside.
This apprentice had a metal cylinder in the center of his chest.
It was hollow, the kind that a hand could go straight through.
When the outer robe was torn off, the metal cylinder immediately emitted a whistling sound of “whine, whine, whine”. “This junk is essentially a wind attribute locator. Oh yeah, what’s your name?”
“Dai, David, mentor.”
Davy was all confused.
Although third level apprentices were no longer particularly nervous and careful about concealing their locator, being exposed in public like this and being called trash made him very upset.
But stronger emotions than displeasure were fear and shame.
Because he also knew that his locator was really trashy and had almost no possibility of being promoted to a full-fledged sorcerer.
And after this matter was known by the other apprentices, they definitely wouldn’t look at themselves as evenly as before.
David tried hard to suppress his mental body, so that his excitement wouldn’t conduct to his body and be seen by Instructor Sol.
Just when Davey had already despaired about his future, thinking about whether or not he should also drop out of school and then go find an ordinary job like the other third level apprentices who had no hope of promotion, he heard Saul’s voice again.
“I don’t know where you got this garbage locator formula from, or the formula you got is itself crippled, anyway after your own modifications. It deserves the name of junk.”
David’s head was already dropping to his chest.
But then, Saul’s words suddenly changed.
“But you can also be proud of yourself, because the only thing you did right was not completely destroying yourself for this piece of junk locator, which with a little bit of modification can barely be promoted to normal quality.”
Saul snapped his fingers again, and the red words “Locator Selection” on his side changed to the words “Suitability”.
By now, with the exception of the three apprentices in the last row, everyone else had raised their heads, staring intently at Saul and the nervous David, afraid of missing a single word.
“David, you are wind attribute, the locator’s choice of metal sorcery material will actually restrain the flexibility of wind.” Saul raised his hand and surprisingly directly pulled out the metal cylinder from Davy’s chest.
Davy’s legs went soft and he almost fell to the ground, but he was pulled by Saul and didn’t fall down.
Saul took the locator and gave it a gentle shake, and the entire locator was suddenly in pieces and suspended in the air.
Saul raised his hand and flicked it, directly throwing several metal parts out of the window.
“First remove the junk parts that are no longer usable.”
Another seemingly unremarkable board appeared in his palm, with burn marks on it.
“Then replace it with a more suitable material. Oh, this lightning strike wood is of average quality, but it’s not cheap, so you’ll have to replenish the magic crystals to me later.”
David nodded his head blankly.
He was already dumbfounded, how did he feel like Mentor Saul, like, like he was going to remodel his locator on the spot?
Saul’s hand was like a precision machine, and with a few strokes on the lightning-striking wood, he turned the entire board into uniformly shaped parts.
And these parts, mobilized by Saul’s magic, directly formed a cylinder with a hexagonal cross-section in the air.
Saul then popped David’s original locator materials into the new wooden barrel one by one.
“Then put in the barely usable junk left from your locator, so that it becomes a normal quality locator.”
Sol drew miniature sorcery spells directly in the air with his hands, then inscribed them onto the new locator before returning his hand and shoving the new locator into Davy’s chest.
Davy looked down at his new locator, his face first in shock – after all, he hadn’t tested this new one at all – then turning to surprise!
“You might need a little time to get used to it, go back to meditating.” Saul shoved the frozen David back into his seat again, “At the very least you have that thirty percent hope of being promoted to full wizard now.”
After that, he walked back to the podium again.
This time, even the three sorcerer apprentices in the last row looked at him with shocked faces.
“So, do any of you see what the really important step in my transformation is?”
