Chapter 758: How about we cooperate?
Chapter 758 – How about we work together
Through the open corridor, step up a few rotating steps and deep into the dark archway.
Saul had followed Ona all the way to the most solemn main hall of the entire castle.
Along the way he saw a few more Ophelia.
Let’s just say the woman was indeed much crazier than her sister.
Upon entering the main hall that Ona had mentioned, Ona didn’t walk in, but simply made a gesture asking Saul to enter alone.
The doors pushed open and the room was unexpectedly dim.
But Saul, with his excellent eyesight, could easily see inside.
The spacious main hall was covered with a red velvet carpet, and overhead was a huge and ornate chandelier.
The walls on both sides also had exquisite bronze-colored sconces.
Only the light overhead and on the sides was dim.
A white porcelain vase with a round base and thin neck was placed under each sconce, but no decorations were placed inside the vase.
There was only a bare bottle.
These white porcelain bottles were laid along with the candle lights until the end of the main hall.
At the end were thirty-three steps of stairs.
On the raised platform above the stairs stood a magnificent throne of interwoven gold and silver.
But the weird thing was that there was no one sitting on the throne, instead, a white porcelain vase of the same size and shape was placed in the center.
Where there should have been a person sitting, there sat a bottle.
Funny and ever so slightly creepy.
The midday sun could barely step into this room, and the windows on either side were hidden behind heavy curtains.
The main hall was incredibly dim.
There was a solemn and eerie atmosphere that crawled like spiders in every corner of the room.
“Ka!”
When Saul completely stepped into the main hall, the door behind him automatically closed.
And surprisingly, the level of light and darkness in the room did not change significantly.
Now in the entire main hall, it seemed that Saul was the only one left.
After waiting for a few moments, Saul broke the silence of the place.
“Your Excellency Ophelia, are you, or your doppelganger, here?”
“Wow!”
The first thing that responded to Saul was a sound of water.
Then there was a murmur of laughter.
“Uh-huh!”
A cranial top suddenly rose from the thin-necked white porcelain vase on the raised platform, and then it continued to rise, appearing to be squeezed and distorted forehead, brow bone, eyes ……
Until the entire human face was squeezed out of the white porcelain vase, those piled up pieces of flesh then began to wriggle and distort, and then little by little they turned into the beautiful face of Ophelia that Saul had just seen several times.
Only her neck was still frighteningly long, more like an intestine.
“Welcome, Lord Saul.”
Saul stroked his chest and curtsied, “Please pardon my uninvited presence.”
Ophelia pursed her lips and smiled, “How could I blame you? Ever since you solved the outbreak of the eye of the wind alone and haven’t damaged a single person, I’ve been wanting to invite you to be my guest in Sky City. It’s only because I was worried that the Lordless Land couldn’t leave you alone that I didn’t take the liberty of inviting you.” Sol was silent for a moment, then said, “The Land of the Masterless won’t be plagued by the eye of the wind again in a short period of time, and I’ve also been monitoring the situation over there.”
“Then, why did you travel thousands of miles and come to Sky City?” Ophelia cocked her head, her neck bent like a wheat stalk.
“I came for the Wind Demon.”
“Heh heh heh, Wind Demon?” Ophelia laughed again, she seemed to enjoy laughing, “Why be so formal, don’t I know what your relationship with her is?”
Sol didn’t blush because of Ophelia’s flirting, instead he became a bit serious.
“I naturally know what kind of relationship I have with Pei’er, but I’m not sure what kind of relationship you have with the wind demon right now.”
One sentence made the playful smile on Ophelia’s face disappear.
“Oh, you’re blaming me for letting someone else send their sister to heaven?”
Ophelia didn’t get angry, but sighed softly.
“What can I do about it. Pelle has long been on the radar of the Stargate Council. According to the plan she was supposed to be a stepping stone for Clark’s promotion, but it’s a pity that Clark himself didn’t fight and died at the hands of someone else.”
She squinted at Saul, “That someone else you should know oh! Now that I think about it, who else would have been so decisive but him?”
Could it be that Ophelia had already guessed that it was Mentor Golza who had made the move to kill Clark?
Then would the Stargate Council and the Judgment Court have found out as well?
Since the last time they parted, Mentor Golza had said that he was going to advance to the fourth rank, and he hadn’t been heard from again.
Thor didn’t doubt that he would be able to advance to the fourth rank, he was just worried if he would be targeted by someone’s design again.
Ophelia lightly nudged Saul, seeing that he was pondering and thought of something, before continuing, ”Although Pei’er escaped because of Clark’s death. But the Stargate, whose plan failed, doesn’t intend to really let her go. It can’t be helped, who let a small amount of wind demon bloodline flow in her body, which is too easy to be targeted.”
“Now that I think about it, when the Stargate Council and the Court of Judgment agreed to help Pei’er advance to the third rank and move into the Land of the Masterless, they probably had already thought about how they were going to use her in the future.”
Hearing this, Sol didn’t argue, but asked the other party, “According to you, if you didn’t have no choice, you weren’t willing to sacrifice Pei’er?”
“Of course.”
“Then your relationship with Pei’er is actually quite good?”
“After all, part of our blood comes from the same man.”
Saul clapped his hands together, “So, if there is a chance that I can get Pelle back, would you be willing to do me a small favor?”
Ophelia slowly straightened her neck, “Oh? So, you were waiting for me at this place?”
Saul immediately felt a mental oppression that hit him like a boulder, causing his body to sway directly twice.
This pressure did not only come from in front of him, but also from those white porcelain vases behind him that were exactly the same shape and style.
“Actually, it would be a good try for you.” Saul said against the pressure, “After all, Pelle is in the middle of the stars right now, and I think you should be interested in that side as well.”
Ophelia wasn’t impressed, “I do yearn for that side of the stars, but it’s equally very dangerous and completely out of my control. And the mere act of trying to bring Pelle back could invite very dangerous enemies.”
“And there’s a good chance that Pelle won’t even be a corpse left over there.”
Ophelia was right about that, the side of the stars was very dangerous, and there really wasn’t even a body left of Pelle anymore.
Saul wasn’t in a hurry, “What if I say that I’ve already contacted Pei’er once and that there’s no danger on her side for the time being? Would you be willing to take a risk?”
Ophelia’s head suddenly stretched out in front of Saul, her long, thin, and white neck turning several times in the air.
“You contacted the world over the stars? How did you do that? Could it be that you have mastered another Stargate?”
Thor leaned back slightly, avoiding Ophelia’s beautiful and terrifying head.
“A special relationship connection was established between Pei’er and I, and we briefly communicated once. But when I subsequently tried to contact her again, I couldn’t do it any more.”
Saul turned his head sideways, and without hesitation, he came to the left ear of Ophelia, who only had one head, and whispered.
“Honorable Ophelia, I am actually also very curious about the world over the stars, so …… how about we cooperate?”
