Chapter 713: Pack up and take away

Chapter 713: Pack Your Bags and Take Them Away
“Saul !!!!!”

The thunderstorm turned the entire Kemah Royal Palace a gloomy gray.

In one of the palace’s corner towers, candles were lit in the long corridors, but the light was still dim.

Only Kori’s long, flowing red hair shone softly like satin.

It had been a few years since the girl with the two twisted braids and a little freckle on her face had grown up.

Keri thumped into Saul’s arms and tugged at Saul’s collar, “Why did you come over? Didn’t you get promoted to the third rank? Aren’t you not allowed to leave the land of no master? Did you sneak out?”

Listening to Keri’s questions one after another, Saul smiled and tapped her forehead, “Out on business, passing through Kemah, if I don’t come to see you again, I guess I’ll be held in grudge, right?”

Cori covered her head and jumped back again, “Heh, do you know whose head you’re knocking? You’re knocking the head of the future Marquess of the Kemah Duchy!”

The hallway was quiet, with only Korie’s playful voice.

“A female marquess? I remember you as the daughter of a count.”

“The Lord Earl has passed away. Archduke Kira intends for me to inherit the title and raise it to Marquess.”

Sol listened and was silent for a moment, “You’re about to be promoted to the second rank, aren’t you?”

Cori pulled Saul towards the corner building, “Yes, how can I not desperately try to catch up when I’ve already been surpassed by you by so much?”

“Can you dive into sorcery here?” Sol followed Korrie to the laboratory Kira had prepared especially for her inside the palace.

There were many materials in the lab, as well as bottles and crucibles that were sizzling in the flames.

Just besides these, there were mountains of parchment, delicate flower marigold paper, and several suspended feather quills.

On a chair next to these, there was also a courtly gown casually slung over it.

Saul then looked back at the black wizard’s robe that Korrie was wearing at the moment, and couldn’t help but ask worriedly, “Do you have to help Archduke Kira with a lot of things while you’re here?”

“It’s not a lot, it’s just that sometimes it’s necessary to ……”

“I’ll talk to Archduke Kira and take you away, okay?” Saul asked seriously.

The fine pen and paper on the table represented official business, while the gorgeous court dresses represented socializing.

Looking at the way the dress was casually laid out, Saul could almost imagine how Korrie quickly took off her robes and replaced them with comfortable yet plain wizard robes when she entered the separate space that belonged to her.

Korrie sauntered over to the courtly gown, her fingers tugging at a satin flower on it.

“I would leave with you, but …… the Duchy of Kemah still needs me, and my family needs me in this position.”

Saul frowned, “When you first just entered the Sorcerer’s Tower, didn’t you say that you didn’t want to return to your family?”

Cori spat out her tongue, “I was still young at that time. Of course when you’re little you can say and think anything.”

Saul stepped forward and pressed his right hand against the back of the chair, his fingertips just touching the neckline of the court gown.

“So can you now.” Saul purposely patted his chest with his left hand, “I’m a third-ranked sorcerer now, and I’ll soon become fourth-ranked. Guaranteed to let you do whatever you want.”

Kerri “pfft” laughed, then said seriously, “I believe in you, and I believe that you will be the fastest third-ranked sorcerer to advance to the fourth rank!”

But then she changed her tone, “It’s just that you have your responsibilities, and I have mine. Archduke Kira brought me back and helped me advance, and now that she’s in trouble, I can’t just leave her behind. As for the family, if I don’t take over the status of Marquis, my mother can find me crying every day.”

“What kind of trouble is Archduke Kira in?” Sol understood that what was really dragging Korie’s feet was actually Kira’s help.

“The Duchy of Knuckles was at peace for a while after a Second Order died in the last war. But recently they’ve been trying to raise a new Second Order sorcerer, so there’s been more provocative maneuvers on the border.”

“Now that Lord Golsata has also left, the only Second Order sorcerer left on Kemah’s side is Grand Duke Kira, and she needs to raise a new Second Order sorcerer as well.”

“So you’re the candidate?”

Korrie smiled bitterly, her long red hair not looking as bright as it had just been.

“It’s the only candidate.”

Thor’s eyes twitched slightly before he spoke again but changed the subject.

“By the way, I have another gift for you.”

“What? What?” Korrie almost pounced, “It’s a gift from a third-ranked wizard, it’s just so much to look forward to!” This guy!

Saul was indignant, “So you’re saying, if my gift isn’t worth it, aren’t you embarrassed to take it out?”

Cori pulled the corner of her mouth, “Of course, if this gift doesn’t match your status as a third-ranked sorcerer, I’ll see if you blush!”

Saul was speechless, but still took out a tome from the spatial sorcery props he carried with him, the storage device.

“A sorcery book?” Keri’s eyes lit up and she immediately took it and flipped through it.

Looking at it, she was mesmerized.

Moving naturally, she pulled back the bench and sat on it.

The light in her eyes grew as she read the text of the book in the common language almost word for word.

It was as if she had forgotten that Saul was still standing beside her.

Saul chuckled silently, not bothering Kori.

He took two steps back and narrowed his eyes to the top of Kori’s head.

He saw a white translucent silk thread on Kagome.

The thin thread slowly extended in front of Saul, with a section in the center that seemed to be broken and connected.

This was Korrie’s thread of fate.

Confirming that the other party’s thread of fate had appeared by his side, Saul disappeared into the room with satisfaction.

Until he disappeared for a long time, Korie didn’t even realize it.

Instead, Saul’s figure appeared beside Thrower, who was stuck at the top of the tower of Kemah’s palace.

Originally, the servants and maids of the Kemah Duchy tried to help Throwback find a warm and cozy stable, but Throwback couldn’t even look at the stable, and finally flew to the roof of the tallest building in the Kemah Duchy against the wind and rain.

As if to represent its owner’s supreme status.

Saul stroked Throw’s feathers and raised his hand to use his magic to hold an umbrella for it.

When he looked up again, he saw Kira, who was also fully immersed in the torrential rain.

Kira was wearing dark green long-sleeved pants and half armor on her upper body.

She jumped hard on the ground and leapt to the roof.

“I’ll help you with the Duchy of Knuckles, please give Kori her freedom.”

Whoever heard Saul’s words, Kira visibly froze.

She bit the corner of her pale lips for a moment before saying, “Actually, I would like you to take Korie away. She is a seeker of knowledge, and this place is not suitable for her.”

Kira actually thought that?
She continued, “Korie is a seeker of knowledge and should not be trapped in worldly power.”

Saul said calmly, “I will need to consult Korrie on that one. But in any case, thank you for letting Korie go.”

Kira’s smile was slightly bitter, “You and your mentor are really different.”

What’s with the sudden mention of Mentor Golza?

Thor: “Kori is a bit busy right now …… I’ll get her opinion when she finishes her book.”

Having said what he wanted to say, Saul lifted his foot and straddled Throw.

“I have something to leave for a while, and I’ll be back before dark the day after tomorrow. At that time, I will take Corrie away if she wishes.”

Throw flapped his giant arms, and the wind and rain had to make a detour even before it.

Eventually the giant bird flew farther and farther away, disappearing to the southeast.

A day later, the only second-ranked sorcerer left in the Knuckles Duchy was found to have suddenly dissimilated and then died a violent death.
