Chapter 376 – Hubert Leanne realizes that nothing has actually changed

One hour later.

The night was low, the lights were shining, the heart of Helium was filled with a kind of restlessness, and a grand interview program on the crystal screen of the Helium Broadcasting Corporation’s studio building, the landmark of the Protoss Empire, had just ended and turned into other instant interviews.

The building looked even more spectacular at this hour, the beams of light from the running lights at the top weaving through the Helium night sky, drawing even more focus.

A large crowd had gathered below the Helmholtz Broadcasting Company building, and as if summoned by some emotion, they came from all directions, clogging up the traffic around the building, excitement and admiration on everyone’s face, their eyes darting in and out of the building’s glass door exits for fear of missing the long-awaited figure.

The Helmholtz Guard Office had sent an extra team of police officers to maintain law and order, and it was clear that the response to today’s interview and the residents’ enthusiasm for Rocky McCarthy’s character far exceeded their expectations.

Downstairs, on the outskirts of the crowd, a number of media reporters were busy, holding camera equipment and microphones, trying to find a better position in the crowd.

The Helmholtz Broadcasting Company’s own journalists spared no effort, picking up eager-looking people in the neighborhood immediately after the talk show and asking them to tell what they thought of the political luminary – a young and promising politician whose words and actions always seem to provoke a strong reaction from the public.

While being selected as an interviewee, one could even look up and see the interview projected in real time on a screen on the Helmholtz Broadcasting Company’s building.

This kind of aftershow, which further heats up the atmosphere until the moment the man walks out of the building, makes people shudder to think what a spectacle it could be.

At the edge of the spacious street below the building, Myrcella stood on her tiptoes, looking out at the dark crowd, feeling unable to find a way to move forward.

“Sister, he won’t see us later.”

Myrcella said worriedly.

She knew her sister wanted to see him today, if not immediately right away.

Otherwise there was no telling when another meeting with this great man would be possible.

Relationships were sometimes as urgent as military affairs, and a minute late could lead to a total loss, so don’t miss another second if you can help it!

Myrcella could hear the occasional chatter from the crowd, everyone guessing at what moment the political celebrity would appear, some already pointing their crystals at the building’s exit for fear of missing the chance to witness what could be a historic moment.

It wasn’t just the two of them who wanted to meet Rocky McCarthy; everyone else wanted to have even a brief interaction with him as well.

But Myrcella knew that her sister had reasons unlike anyone else’s.

And that made Myrcella more and more anxious as she thought about it.

The guards were maintaining order in the crowd, their Protoss uniforms solemn in the light, their expressions serious, but their eyes could not hide their curiosity about the figure who was about to appear.

The crowd’s anticipation was still rising as the hours ticked by, everyone waiting for the political celebrity who would set the trend of the times, to step out of the building and into their sights.

In the outer ring of the crowd, there were more journalists with heavy equipment, even if they could take a couple of pictures as material for tomorrow’s newspaper would be nice compared to trying to chance an interview with Rocky McCarthy.

The Rocky McCarthy interview is sure to be a popular item tomorrow.

And still the reporters from the Helmholtz Broadcasting Company weaved their way through the crowds, picking out conspicuous citizens and friends, inquiring for feedback and opinions, looking for voices that would represent public opinion.

That’s when the sharp-witted Helmholtz Broadcasting Company reporter locked onto his target – two young girls, whose eyes revealed an eagerness unlike that of the average fan.

The reporter hurriedly stepped forward with his cameraman, politely said excuse me and pushed his way through the crowd to the two girls.

“Good evening, ladies. Can you tell us what you think about the much-anticipated political celebrity of the evening?”

The reporter opened his box swiftly and skillfully, and had finished his question before Huberian and Myrcella could respond.

The two young ladies stood out for their appearance and temperament alone, and the fact that they were dressed in the old aristocratic style uniforms of the Royal Academy of Magic in Protoss, which just so happened to be Mr. McCarthy’s school.

“I have no opinion.”

Myrcella replied briefly.

Many people had noticed the live feed of the interview projected on the crystal screen on the outer wall of the Helmom Broadcasting Corporation building, the young girl being interviewed with a facial expression so raw it looked like she was saying something against her will. This kind of cold-hearted interviewee was a reporter’s nightmare.

But the reporters at Helmholtz Broadcasting were obviously very competent and knew how to deal with the situation.

Any comment at this point would look awkward to him, so he simply nodded his head and turned the microphone over to Hubert Leanne, who looked softer in her demeanor.

“So how do you, as students of the Protoss Royal Academy of Magic, feel about the attitude of your principal, Mr. Rocky McCarthy, towards his candidacy?”

The reporter asked with a subdued smile.

“…… I think it’s better that he doesn’t run for president.”

Hubert Leanne replied hesitantly.

Obviously in a mixed mood right now, she was even more confused by being suddenly chosen to interview about Ranch.

However.

Huberian’s rather soft voice in response was unusually clear in the restless night.

For a moment the atmosphere around them changed somewhat.

The reply seemed to have touched a sensitive nerve in the surrounding fans.

The original atmosphere of pure adoration and anticipation was replaced by a hint of dissatisfaction and hostility, and the originally enthusiastic fans of McCarthy on the side all gazed this way until the interview screen was transmitted to the building’s crystal screen, causing the crowd waiting for McCarthy’s appearance from afar to notice the young girl on the interview screen.

Some of the crowd began to boo, some even murmured.

“Everyone has an opinion, that’s what our interviews are all about.”

Sensing the tension in the atmosphere, the Helmholtz Broadcasting Corporation reporter hastily tried to lighten it up.

Nonetheless, the Helmholtz Broadcasting reporter and interview team had to be on alert in case there were any overly emotional McCarthy fans in the crowd.

“I ……”

Hubertarian’s already confused brain finally came back to her senses, and she realized that she seemed to have said the wrong thing in this atmosphere.

But without waiting for her to go further and organize her words, she felt the countless eyes in the dark crowd all seemingly staring at her.

“Their jewelry …… seems to be the Milford family in the north, right?”

This kind of jewelry was only abundant in the Milford Collar, and their dresses clearly showed that they were noble students of the Royal Magic Academy of Protoss.

“That Milford family, who would oppose Mr. McCarthy, there’s no surprise, it’s originally an old aristocrat in the north.”

“Is it an enemy of Mr. Rocky McCarthy?”

“The two of them, wearing the same old style of school uniforms for noble students, are really the opposition of Mr. Rocky McCarthy.”

The voices rose and fell.

The lonely cold wind assaulted her cool skin.

The terrible gathering malice made Huberian feel for a moment like she was back in that Ichorite when her father had first disappeared.

Nothing had changed.

And she was always the same young girl who would be alone late at night, shivering with fear and bursting into tears.
