Chapter 626 – Layers of Illusion
Chapter 626 Layers of Illusion
The little bit of face that was pulled out of the ground by Saul showed a twisted smile, all five features had been pulled and distorted, but didn’t care at all.
“Welcome to my estate, little toy. You are one of the most interesting I have encountered in all my years.”
“Oh, I’m a toy? And what are the others out there?”
“Toys that are nothing interesting.”
This witch’s sanity had probably dissolved with the alienation in the first place.
“If the alienation of this manor was caused by the eye of the storm, it’s likely that it’s in this original owner.”
“But now there’s clearly an anomaly above the manor as well, and it’s even already continuing to affect my emotions.”
The visions in front of them and the chaotic fluctuations overhead could both be caused by the eye of the wind.
Saul decided it was better to test the witch in front of him before considering the cause of the chaos above.
The tentacles he had adsorbed to the witch began to slowly exert themselves, churning from the witch’s face into the deeper tissues of her flesh.
If someone who didn’t know better looked at it, they would think Saul was a horrible murderer.
The witch didn’t put up any resistance either, and looking at her expression, she seemed to be enjoying the feeling of being penetrated.
Soon, Saul discovered the same contamination that belonged to the Black Tide from within the witch’s body.
But within this contamination, there were many other miscellaneous things.
“Negative emotions …… Confusion …… Unconsciousness …… The components of the pollution in this witch are so complicated.”
Substances mixed with gray, dark green and black were sucked into Sol’s tentacles, while simultaneously eroding each other inside the translucent tentacles.
“She wasn’t alienated by the Black Tide’s contamination. It’s more like after being contaminated, she was corrupted by the Kuroshio contamination.”
But the level of contamination and the level of chaos in the witch’s body didn’t seem to be worthy of the term Eye of the Storm, a word that foretold doom, yet.
As the pollution was analyzed by Sol little by little. The witch’s originally crazed eyes gradually calmed down.
She looked at Saul with an attitude of admiration that was no longer as lofty as admiring her own toys. There was also a sense of confusion in her eyes as if she was waking up from a dream.
“I …… you …… why can you let me regain some sanity?”
The witch’s half-rotted face rose gradually out of the black stains, barely poking out half of her body as she slumped helplessly to the ground.
“The fact that the contamination in your body can still be lifted individually means that your alienation is not completely irreversible. If you listen to me properly, perhaps I will consider helping you regain your sanity.”
The witch opened her mouth and ran her hands over her cheeks as if retrieving her presence.
Suddenly she whimpered and laughed.
“So, I’m not completely alienated. But this matter, surprisingly, was told to me by a strange witch.”
Saul frowned and squatted down, “What exactly are you alienated because of? Is it related to the eye of the wind in the Lordless Land? Do you know what the eye of the wind is?”
However, the witch had not heard of the term eye of the wind.
From her disoriented eyes, her confusion could barely be seen.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. When I failed in my research, my magic backfired and I was horribly contaminated. But when my outside turned into a monster, surprisingly none of my friends and servants around me came to my rescue! They all thought about leaving this manor before I completely lost control!”
“Ha! Obviously I could still talk and see at the time, but they ignored the fact that my sanity was still intact and went so far as to seal off the entire room.”
The witch’s eyes hid undisguised resentment.
If that group of people had appeared in front of her again back then, the witch could have gone up and ripped them apart alive.
“My body had all melted beyond my control, but my spirit hadn’t completely mutated yet. I begged over and over in the room for them to come back and save me.”
“It was obvious that it might have been possible to save me with just a single potion and a single magical purification, but they chose to just seal me up, identifying my madness and alienation, unwilling to even part with an eye to properly inspect my state!”
“You don’t know what it’s like to be a person who can’t move, can’t speak, and whose eyes are all filled with nauseating hallucinations …… like this waiting to die a little bit in incomparable pain!”
“I don’t know how long, just when I was about to be unable to hold on, there were actually other people who entered my manor and sent someone to lift the seal. I thought I had finally waited for a chance to ask for help.”
The witch let out a miserable laugh, but then it turned into a nervous, strange laugh.
“It was I who was naïve, someone who was recognized as tainted, someone who was turned into a puddle of flesh, even when the flesh had dried up. How could they believe I’m an ordinary person?” The witch looked at Saul, her despair and pain waning a little.
“They didn’t listen to me at all, left this place, and even reinforced the seal. My agonized and powerless shrillness has actually become their capital to show off!”
The witch’s body was still rising, and she could already straighten her body.
“Until one day, I suddenly woke up.” The witch began to laugh, “My power got bigger. Everything in the manor was at my command. It was as if I was back at my most powerful.”
“No, I’m even more powerful now than I was before!”
She looked over at Saul, her eyes red, her pupils so large that they took up almost the entire whites of her eyes.
“You, too, are nothing more than my latest toy!”
The witch’s figure moved as if she was about to approach Saul.
Saul suddenly raised a hand, “What do you think of this toy of mine?”
The witch was stumped by Saul’s question, her limited intelligence couldn’t figure out why Saul asked, but she subconsciously answered.
“You are an interesting toy.”
Saul withdrew his hand, and even the arm that had transformed into an octopus tentacle on the ground retracted into his sleeve and changed back into a human arm.
“I see.” Saul looked at the witch and surprisingly directly touched the other party’s pitch-black face with his hand, “Actually, the space I’m in right now is not a real space either. This is also your toy room, and all of us are nothing more than toys manipulated by your strings.”
The witch’s face changed, as if she wanted to say something else.
However, the basement where the two were suddenly shuddered violently.
But this time, the impact did not come from the room above their heads.
Rather, it was the outside world!
Saul clearly felt an extremely powerful presence enter this space.
The entire world seemed to be trembling.
If this place was a dream, then this dream was about to shatter due to the intervention of an extremely unstable force!
It was a third-order sorcerer who had entered!
Saul’s face was solemn, and he knew that it should be Pei’er’s side that made the move!
However, his own side had yet to confirm the exact existence of the eye of the wind.
Could it be that this place really wasn’t the eye of the wind, but the source above his head that was emitting chaos and malice was the eye of the wind?
If Saul and the others entering this manor was like a small stone thrown into the surface of a lake, which would cause ripples in the water, that powerful existence of the third rank was like a brick smashing hard against a mirror, which would directly break the mirror into pieces.
Soon, the entire space trembled once more.
The image in front of Sol’s eyes suddenly distorted and trembled like a bad signal.
For a few seconds, Saul seemed to see that the place he was in was not an empty hut with the windows of the surrounding rooms sealed, but a room full of clutter.
There were metal shelves that had fallen across the room under his feet, and tables and chairs that had been twisted and deformed by the crash in front of him.
The walls and the floor were left with traces of a large amount of blood spray.
It was as if a horrific battle had once taken place here.
And behind the crooked tables and chairs lay a corpse with only half of its upper body left.
That half of the body was also bloody, as if it had been gnawed on by something.
And the corpse lying on the ground unexpectedly possessed the same face as the witch just now!
The image in front of his eyes fluctuated once again, and reappeared as an empty room with the windows sealed around it.
Saul closed his eyes, and at the end of the just flashed back image, he saw a huge rat in that cluttered room, with a large amount of blood staining the corner of its mouth.
Didn’t make it yesterday, the pain
