Chapter 608 – The Man in the Water
Chapter 608 – Man in the Water
Saul sped all the way to the outside of the Sorcerer’s Tower.
It was hard to reach the gate, but there was no sign of Senior Byron.
After his eyes turned around, Saul then saw Marsh and a person fully dressed in a black cloak in the mushroom field to the left of the Sorcerer’s Tower.
He walked over to them and before he could shout out, the other person had already noticed him and turned around.
Under the hood, there was still that familiar face, looking at Saul with a shallow, not very eager smile.
“I thought you would have named the Wizard Tower Saul Wizard Tower.”
Saul smiled back as he walked over and punched Byron in the chest, “Senior wouldn’t have asked all the way over here, would he?”
Byron still didn’t like to talk and just shook his head.
Saul knew that if he didn’t continue to press the issue, then Byron would probably finish shaking his head as an answer.
Saul swept Byron over, “Let’s go, how about asking the senior to take a look at my wizard tower?”
The two of them walked in the Sorcerer’s Tower, and the environment here made Byron feel both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.
“Not bad.”
The two wandered all the way to the third floor, and Byron gave a short comment.
“Has Kori recovered?” Saul invited Byron to visit his lab, not forgetting to be concerned about his best friend’s condition.
“Korie has fully recovered, and has also advanced to the third level of apprenticeship by the way, and is now preparing for her advancement to full sorcerer.”
Byron paused for a moment, “However, it’s not suitable for her to come to the Lordless Land, it just so happens that there have been quite a few changes within the Khema Duchy, so let her go over there to assist.”
Keri came from a noble family in the Kemah Duchy, and could indeed participate in the internal affairs of the duchy.
Byron’s right index finger and thumb were suddenly inserted into the palm of his left hand, and his left palm cracked open with a slit that did not bleed.
When he withdrew his right hand, a small transparent orb was added to his fingertips, and an irregular piece of metal was sealed inside the orb.
“Alpha?” Saul instantly recognized it as the radiation toxin that Kori had invented.
“Kori said it was an enhanced version.” Byron put the small ball into Saul’s hand, “She said that her strength is too different from yours now, and she probably can’t help you when she comes, the only thing that might help you shade a few people is this enhanced version of the Alpha toxin.”
Saul took the Alpha and asked with a heartbeat, “Is there an antidote?”
Byron immediately answered, “No.”
Saul showed his teeth, “Well, it looks like she’s leaving that dilemma to me.”
At the very beginning, Cori invited Saul to co-develop the antidote, only to be interrupted by the Gudo sorcerer right at the beginning, and then because of the Sorcerer Tower rebellion, Cori changed her direction and abandoned her original research direction.
However, the idea of separating souls and consciousness that Korrie proposed at the time was still quite suitable for Saul to continue his research.
Saul put away the Alpha Toxin and sighed softly, “It’s good that she didn’t come over.”
He put away his smile and looked at Byron, “Actually, senior …… I don’t know if I should let you stay in the Lordless Land now. There might be a huge crisis brewing inside the Lordless Land right now, and there’s even a danger of you being contaminated at any time if you stay here.”
When Byron heard Saul’s words, the expression on his face didn’t change much, he just calmly asked, “Saul, I came here, can I help you?”
Saul was dumbfounded, then lost his smile, “Then I’ll continue to ask for your help in the future, Senior.”
Thus, Byron took up residence on the first floor of the Wizard Tower, just in time to fill the empty seat left by the old witch.
Saul informed Byron of his experiences in the Masterless Land, even the several encounters with Kismet.
Unsurprisingly, Byron listens to these things and has no gossipy reaction at all.
After that, Saul solemnly told him that if he found any unusual contamination in his body, he must tell him in time to clean it up.
As long as the body is guaranteed to have no pollution unique to the land of the Lordless, even if the black tide breaks out here in the future, Byron and Saul, who have no pollution in their bodies, will be minimally affected.
However, Byron, after hearing about Saul’s research on Black Tide pollution, was interested in the black powder he brought back from the chaotic domain.
It just so happened that Saul had a lot of things to be busy with, so he distributed some of the samples to Byron and left him to do his research.
…… Pelle’s eyes snapped open.
When she woke up from her dream and made the motion of opening her eyes, it all felt as if she wasn’t opening her eyes, but rather pulling off a piece of tape that was tightly attached to her skin.
That kind of tearing with a bit of sticking pain made her brain follow suit.
“When did Clark’s strength become so terrifying? Or did the Stargate Council behind him make a secret move?”
Pelle didn’t get up from the stone platform right away, she was trying to think so that she could get her brain active again.
“The precognitive dream of falling towards the stars that Nerilla saw I didn’t see instead. Is it because the Falling to the Stars itself was Nerilla and not me, or is it because the future has been altered?”
Either way, Pelle couldn’t accept that she would end up dying alone and mad among the stars.
“The old witch’s main consciousness also doesn’t have a nightmare …… Could it be that the mutated person really wasn’t me? But it always feels like it’s not that simple. Well, the mind is inherently stupid when it comes to being an old hag ……”
A few images suddenly sprang into Pelle’s mind.
It was the sight of her being teased by Saul over and over again, and being unable to do anything about it.
It was the sight of her being provoked by Saul time and time again, and still proudly showing off her powerful pride.
It is her time and time again for a few hundred magic crystals, willing to work for Saul’s joy ……
“Ah!!!”
Pei’er clenched her fists so tightly that even her toes curled up.
It was so humiliating to think back on it now!
She couldn’t wait to delete these memories immediately!
After lying on the stone platform and twisting her ego for a few minutes, Pelle quickly calmed down again.
“Relax, on the path of a sorcerer, the experience of a few failed experiments is nothing at all.”
It was only not long after her mood had just relaxed, she thought again of the scene when she had deliberately charmed Saul and the other party laughed.
“That brat, sooner or later, I’ll let him know the power of a Third Order Sorcerer.”
Thinking of this, she seemed to have made up her mind as she rolled over and jumped off the stone platform, and then her entire figure became a blur, as if it were a wisp of fresh wind from the canyon, drifting out of the cave.
Pei’er didn’t go to another cave in the secret room, but directly walked out of the hidden passageway, then followed the original cave all the way down.
Although her strength had not been restored at this time, and her soul was entangled in Clark’s nightmare power, she was, after all, a third-ranked sorcerer, and none of them could discover her whereabouts along the way.
So she traveled lightly and came to a cave in the most downstream part of the cliff.
There was an underground river here, and half of the cave was flooded by it.
So this was actually an abandoned cave. Even if someone wanted to fetch water, they would choose another river that was closer to the settlement.
At this moment, Pei’er came to the underground river and her figure reappeared.
She slowly squatted down, and then placed her right hand on the water.
A string of low, dumb and obscure goblin words came out from her mouth.
The voice, however, strangely burrowed into the river water, so that even Pei’er herself did not hear it.
Immediately afterward, the originally calm underground river suddenly rippled.
And bizarrely, even Pei Er s right hand placed on the surface of the water was also the same …… as the river water, swaying like a wave.
That complete right hand also gradually became larger as the ripples spread, slowly extending to the size of a round table desktop, and the thickness also became as light and thin as gauze.
Then, it was as if there was something underwater that topped Pei Er s enlarged and thinned right hand and slowly stood up from the bottom of the water.
It was like a person draped in a sheet.
Only the person in the water was draped in Pei’er’s skin.
“You finally bothered to contact me, my stubborn sister.”
Pelle said with a sullen face, “Both the Stargate Council and the Court of Judgment have violated their agreement to secretly control the Masterless Lands. Ophelia, I hope you can still smile when you hear this news.”
