Chapter 567 The Adjudicated
Chapter 567 – The Adjudicated
The big fish was bitten by the “fish hook”.
Saul waved his hand and asked Algae to send it to the laboratory in the basement level, while he picked up the mushroom chair and walked towards the lake.
“It’s been a long time, Gaga Drum.” He greeted his old acquaintance first, and then looked at the new second-ranked wizard, “Greetings.”
“Greetings.” Surprisingly, the Second Order sorcerer on the opposite side nodded and returned the greeting, “Sorcerer Sol.”
Sol secretly sized up this unfamiliar second-ranked sorcerer, the sorcerer’s robes he was wearing looked more elaborate and solemn, not too much like the local clothing style of the Stat continent.
Gaga Drum hurriedly introduced Saul, “Sorcerer Saul, this is a Second Order Sorcerer, Lord Justin. He came to find you, uh …… uh ……”
Gaga Drum wanted to say something.
Justin took over Gaga Drum’s words and directly stated his intention, “I would like to ask you to help me heal the injuries and contamination on my body.”
“I have some research on removing contamination, but Your Excellency is after all a second-ranked sorcerer, and my means and methods may not be able to satisfy your needs.”
“There’s also the fact that I’m not very good at treating injuries. I think that since you are a second-order sorcerer, healing sorcery should be better at it than I am.”
Having not opened for half a year, Saul would like to keep this new patient.
It was just a matter of explaining his strength in advance and not letting the other party expect too much, lest business turn hostile.
“I’ve already heard about your abilities from Gaga Drum, but my situation is indeed special.”
Justin stopped mid-sentence and glanced sideways at Gaga Drum.
“Haha, the two lords will talk first, I’ll go to Steward Hopper to hand over the goods.” Gaga Drum was very sensible and left on his own, leaving space for Sol and Justin.
After Gaga Drum left, Justin slowly removed his metal mask.
The man’s face, surprisingly, was sunken inward!
The bridge of the nose, which was supposed to be high, was a little deeper than the eye sockets. It was as if the entire bridge of the nose had been cut off and then hammered hard against the wound.
And in the deepest part of the sunken nose, there were a few yellow-green patches.
“I’m from the continent of Nephrite, and I entered the Masterless Lands five years ago. To be precise, I escaped in.”
Justin’s voice was flat and his eyes were waveless, as if he was telling someone else’s experience.
“I’m a wanted criminal with a removal order from the Judgment Court.”
The Judgment Court, Saul had heard of it, but the removal order ……
He thought of the Jasim wizard who killed two wizards with a black blade and then killed himself.
The other party was exactly from the Judgment Court.
Seeing the change in Saul’s eyes, Justin was clear that the other party had heard of the name Judgment Court.
“You don’t have to worry about angering the Judgment Court by healing me. They won’t enter the Masterless Land, which is why I ventured into this place.”
Jasim’s words were informative.
The Judgment Court would not enter the Masterless Lands.
Why?
It wasn’t like there were barriers or hurdles, even sorcerer apprentices and commoners could come and go as they pleased – as long as they didn’t encounter those deadly dangers.
It seemed that this place was called the No Man’s Land not only because of the pollution and terrible rules it contained, but there should be other reasons as well.
Justin paused for a moment, leaving Sol plenty of time to think before continuing to speak.
“I was injured by a Ruler of the Court of Judgment while I was on the run. A metal curing protection was almost destroyed. After I entered the Masterless Lands, the wound was again corroded by the contamination here.
I’ve tried my best to heal my injuries and suppress the contamination over the past few years, but my body is still quickly going to its limits, and I’m afraid I won’t live for more than a year if I don’t find a way to fix it.”
I don’t know if it was a habit of his character or he was already desperate, Justin remained calm when talking about his imminent fate.
This made Saul somewhat admire his temperament.
There weren’t many people who could be so calm when they felt the slow descent of death.
“Sorcerer Saul, your reputation has spread around this area, but to be honest, not many people would dare to come over to you for treatment.”
Saul rubbed his chin and admitted readily, “Indeed.” “Removing the contamination is exposing your weaknesses to others. The average person won’t come to you.”
“True.” Sol nodded.
But he was only a cover as a healer, and it would be an annoyance if there were too many people looking for him.
“But I’m different, I’ve basically tried everything I can, and the rest are either too dangerous or there’s no way at all. That’s why I came to you. This is probably my last attempt as well.”
Saul didn’t give promises, “Can I see your injuries and contamination first?”
“Yes, but I’ll need to do some shielding.” Justin said matter-of-factly.
Saul agreed.
So Justin wordlessly chanted an incantation, and a golden shimmering metallic liquid appeared at his feet.
This liquid extended in all directions at the feet of the two men, forming a square triangle before growing diagonally upward from each side, eventually forming a closed square tetrahedron.
Saul had been watching the fluctuations in Justin’s magic as he performed his sorcery from beginning to end.
He found that the other party’s technique of casting spells was thick and smooth, but there was a hint of tremor and uneasiness hidden in his magic fluctuations, as worrisome as an anthill in a dam.
Saul then stepped forward, ready to check Justin’s injuries, but the latter suddenly turned around and sat on the ground.
He then slowly lifted the scalp at the back of his head.
The ear-piercing sound of tearing tape rang out.
Saul tried to compose himself and look professional.
The skin on the back of Justin’s head was voodoo-treated fake skin. And the back of his head all the way up to his neck was all made up of metal.
Not the metallic glowing skin that Kori had, but real hard, cold metal.
But on top of this metal, which should be smooth and shiny, there was a thick layer of yellowish-green impurities.
The shape was irregular and the surface was rough.
Saul drew out a glass rod and swept it gently, and saw some fine pieces falling down.
He hastily caught them in a petri dish.
“If you don’t mind, can I perform a little simple test experiment on these first?”
“Sure.” Justin raised his hand, his fingernails transforming into small, sharp knives like metal, and took matters into his own hands, chipping a piece of the impure metal surface down for Saul.
Saul noticed that the metal was still underneath the other man’s metal hindbrain, and wondered if there was still the traditional flesh and blood present.
These newly exposed layers of metal were smooth and bright, but after a few seconds of exposure, some dull color began to develop on them, and quickly shifted towards the familiar yellow-green color.
The surface also began to become rough.
Saul compared the petri dish to the new growth of matter on the other’s head, which was the same from the outside.
“Some of it looks like rusted metal.” Saul said.
Justin put his scalp back on and then stood up, but still with his back to Saul.
“Yes, I majored in metallic sorcery. Your description of rust is actually quite graphic. I am rusting rapidly, constantly and repeatedly right now. And it has spread from what started as my nose, to my entire head.”
It was only when his back was turned to Saul that a slight vulnerability showed in Justin’s eyes.
But when he turned around, the little bit of vulnerability in his eyes was masked.
Saul didn’t stare at Justin again.
He had begun to look down and study the properties of the substance in the petri dish.
He could already tell that this outwardly calm and serene sorcerer was actually very proud inside.
Despite the fact that he could bravely reveal the most vulnerable side of his body, he refused to show a little bit of mental vulnerability for it.
Since this was the case, Saul naturally had to politely evade it.
