Chapter 544 – The Vanishing Crisis
Chapter 544 – The Vanishing Crisis
“If we don’t take into account being adjusted in appearance, she is indeed exactly the same as the previous generation of Sorcerer Takamu Tower Master.”
Butler Hope also jumped down and observed the unconscious grudge.
Hope’s eyes were a bit complicated, although he had now recognized Saul as his master, he still had mixed feelings when faced with the appearance of the last generation of Tower Masters.
After all, Camus was the original founder of this wizard tower.
He quickly gathered his emotions and stood up to suggest, ”Lord Tower Master, before Camus Witch left the Witch Tower, she had erased all traces related to her within the tower. Even the characteristics of our memories regarding her spiritual power fluctuations were eliminated, so there is no way for me to accurately judge.”
Saul clasped his arms to his chest, somewhat embarrassed.
If this resentful spirit was the former tower master Camus, then some caution would be required in handling it.
If it wasn’t, the problem was even bigger, a cool spirit that looked like the former tower lord appeared, and there was no guarantee that there wouldn’t be some kind of conspiracy behind it.
He took another look at the small quagmire that was originally the new home of Komoro, but was currently under a death warning from the diary.
“The diary didn’t hint at it when I built the Sorcerer’s Tower, and it didn’t budge when I planned to continue living here. Then it’s basically certain that the danger underneath the quagmire won’t erupt anytime soon.”
But always letting such a thing similar to a time bomb stay under his feet, Saul couldn’t sleep peacefully.
“It’s better to go and see what’s actually there.”
But who to send down there was a problem, 4 consciousnesses he absolutely couldn’t afford to part with, even the most useless Herman would occasionally provide valuable advice.
“Right, almost forgot, I still have the 5th page unused.”
In the 5th chapter book page was Kent, a first-order sorcerer majoring in the fire attribute that he had captured from Biden Academy.
Because Kent knew more about fire-attribute sorcery, Saul had been using it as a reference teaching book, so there wasn’t much soul energy left.
If he wanted to call him out, he had to open the consciousness platform and energize him to do so.
“Previously, when I took the consciousness body away from the diary, it was injected into a container and allowed it to act with a body.
But the fact is that the process of injecting the container is also the process of drawing the body of consciousness out of my mental body, so can I just let it exist in the form of a soul without the container injection?”
Sol glanced again at Hope, the butler standing next to him, and continued to think.
“Just like the butler, it exists in a strange way. It’s obviously a soul body, but it looks and feels like a real person, even the touch feels similar. If he hadn’t voluntarily stepped out of the black iron coffin, I might not have realized that he wasn’t a living person, but a member of the souls manipulated by the Sorcerer’s Tower.”
“Hope.” Saul spoke up.
“Lord Tower Master.” The butler immediately bent down and saluted, looking ready to do whatever he was told.
“I have some relatively intact soul bodies, but they are unable to exist in the outside world in a stable manner for a long period of time. Is there any way to make them like you, to become close to a living form, to move around outside for long periods of time, and to be able to transform at any time and return to the container I keep my souls in?”
Hope didn’t disappoint Sol.
“There is a way, and it is not too difficult for you.
Simply by covering the outer layer of the soul body with a film made up of light-attributed sorcery, it is possible to give the soul an appearance that approximates that of a real body.
However, this film is only a camouflage and does not allow us to have a physical body like a real living person, but it also cannot withstand strong attacks and can only provide you with the simplest of services.”
“Light attribute sorcery?”
“This sorcery is inscribed on the surface of the black iron coffin, I can point it out for you.”
Sol didn’t realize that there was a sorcery hidden in the runes on the outside of the Black Iron Coffin.
He nodded and said to the butler, “Let’s go up.”
Saul had Algae roll up Camus on the ground – calling her that for now – and leave with them.
The small algae didn’t succeed in completing its rooting and looked a bit anxious, but it dutifully listened to Saul and left the second basement level.
Camus was as motionless as a corpse at this point.
But Sol wouldn’t forget how hard she had just grabbed her hand!
“Actually, Camus’s form of existence is somewhat similar to that of the butler as well, except that the composition of the outer skin doesn’t seem to be the same, so it’s worth studying.”
Returning to the laboratory on the basement level, Saul immediately drew a forbidden spirit-type sorcery spell formation on the ground and put Camus in it to prevent her from suddenly waking up and causing trouble.
Afterwards, he transcribed the sorcery structure hidden on the surface of the Black Iron Coffin under the guidance of the butler.
This sorcery is called “Vegetative Body”, which is not that difficult, at least for the current Saul can already learn and master it by himself.
With the guidance of the butler and Agu, it only took two days for Saul to be able to perform this sorcery.
Only the effect could not catch up with the layer of light attribute outer skin on the butler’s body.
Next Saul went into the consciousness platform and pulled the weakened Kent out, replenishing him with a slight amount of soul energy, just for moving around – he was likely to be wiped out in the quagmire by unknown dangers anyway.
Kent, who had already spent a small half year in the black pages of the book, had completely lost the arrogance and hostility he had felt back then when he faced Saul again. Perhaps because, after jumping out of the platform and being affected by the stars in the space of consciousness, Kent, who had returned to this world again, looked like he had some sanity problems.
There was no problem communicating in terms of sorcery knowledge, but it was more like a robot that only knew how to execute simple commands and feed back information.
“Those stars inside the consciousness body are very problematic and dangerous, but unfortunately I don’t dare to take a shot at them right now.”
Self-study was the most dangerous of all.
One slip up and there would be no 2nd experiment.
So despite knowing that those stars within his consciousness were likely a hidden danger, Sol had no way to deal with them at the moment.
But the good thing was that the diary did not warn of the existence of those stars. Saul was still able to sleep soundly at night.
“Go on, go into the bottom of the quagmire and see what’s inside.”
Kent, who had put on the “Vegetative Body”, moved stiffly, but still approached the quagmire inside the second basement level step by step.
Saul was keeping an eye on the diary.
If the diary said that if Kent went down there, it would also bring Saul to death, then he would immediately call off this test.
The diary didn’t react until Kent’s entire body was engulfed in the quagmire.
After five minutes, the apprehensive head once again emerged from the ground, followed by a full torso and legs.
He walked over to Saul and looked at him with a little fear hidden in his eyes.
“No, danger.”
His voice had no rise or fall.
“Nothing at all that particularly distinguishes the existence of a natural environment?”
“No.”
Saul was a bit puzzled, and he looked towards the quagmire, once again thinking in his mind, should he go down and explore it himself?
And this time a quick flash of thought, surprisingly, didn’t cause the diary to warn him!
“What’s going on? Now I can go down and look again? Could it be because the danger that was there has moved away, and the power that sent Camus up has left?”
Several question marks turned in his mind.
But one couldn’t come up with a result just by thinking about it, and Saul decided to go down and see for himself.
Just as he was about to go out of his spirit body, Little Algae suddenly nudged his shoulder and pointed at the quagmire on the ground with her little head.
“You want to go down and take a look for me?”
Little Algae nodded.
“It could be dangerous.”
Where there was no mortal danger for Saul, that wasn’t necessarily the case for Komoro.
Kohlrabi grew a branch in Saul’s face.
“Let the branch go? Alright then, be safe, if there’s danger cut it off immediately, don’t hesitate.”
Little Algae nodded and let a black vine-like tentacle turn into the ground.
After 10 minutes, the tentacle came out of the ground and happily swayed from side to side.
The danger was truly lifted.
At the same time the tip of the tentacle came to crack in front of Sol, and the mouth spat out a bit of brownish-black dirt.
Saul casually took out an empty petri dish from the storage and caught this small pinch of dirt.
“What’s this? Do you think there’s a problem with the presence?”
Algae nodded.
Saul gently stirred the small handful of dirt with a glass rod.
A bit of black, insoluble powder was soon discovered from this dirt.
“This is most likely a trace left behind by the danger that caused the diary to warn of the crisis!”
Saul’s eyes lit up, scratching the chin of the small algae.
“Komoro is awesome!”
I don’t know if I can make it for the third shift, I’ll try
