Chapter 497: Phagocytosis
Chapter 497 – Devouring
The evil flowers retreated quickly along the outer wall of the tall building.
Eight spider legs stretched out behind An, the tips of which were as sharp as knives, ruthlessly inserted into the branches, and were then brought down to the ground.
The ground was still surrounded by some vigilantes, and when they saw the larger-than-human flower crawling downwards using the branches as limbs, they immediately raised their hands and aimed the iron pipe-like sorcery props in their hands at the giant flower.
But before they could release the secondary flame beads that came with the props, they saw that there was actually a woman climbing behind the flower stem.
When the two approached, they were even more shocked to find that the lower half of the woman’s body also had eight more spider legs!
For a moment, several of the vigilantes didn’t know whether to aim the iron pipe at the weird giant flower or the woman behind it.
The giant flower did not even put a few people in the police force in the eyes, it suddenly jumped from the height of four floors, branches randomly pierced through a few unlucky people, in the midst of a scream, with a field of blood drilled into the entrance of a nearby underground waterway.
That entrance was very small, and there was a railing separating it, and after the slender flower stem pierced through, the huge flower bud couldn’t even get in.
The monster immediately abandoned the flower part.
It was blocked by the railing outside the underground waterway, leaving behind a huge floor of bloodstained petals that looked like door panels.
And Ann also saw the railing partition, although she could use her sorcery to cut through the railing, it was clearly just a pipe entrance in front of her, with an equally narrow interior.
Even if Ann could unfurl the railing, it would be impossible for her to expand the passageway by a full circle.
With a flash of sternness in her eyes, she actually directly gave up her body, changed into her soul form, and followed her in.
This was actually very dangerous, after all, she wasn’t in full soul form, and all her energy came from Sol’s replenishment.
However, right now, Ann could no longer care so much.
Some time ago, she was attacked by an unknown root system while she was out with Sol.
She was almost pulled into the dirt.
Just as she was halfway into the earth, Ann suddenly felt a familiar aura above the plant that attacked her.
The scent was like a mint in a salted fish, sobering her steeply and jolting her old memories, muddled by the fusion of her souls, awake.
“Duh, Mo!” Ann uttered the name through gritted teeth.
She chased the fleeing flower stem all the way down, and halfway out of the underground waterway again, into some kind of crevice.
Not knowing how far she had chased it, Anne, who had been traveling through the soil, suddenly felt that she had passed through a barrier, and the area before her suddenly became open.
Open, but dark.
An could sense that dozens of meters away in front of her, there was a huge object that was extremely wide, with no visible edges blocking her forward direction.
And the flower stem she had been tracking jumped to the top of the huge barrier in three or two jumps, and then sagged helplessly, as if it had turned from a living thing to a dead one in an instant.
And the familiar scent that Ann had been tracking disappeared.
Ann floated in front of the giant object, still unable to distinguish what was in front of her.
Her current location was only a part of the middle section of the giant thing, the top and bottom were hidden by darkness, so she couldn’t see clearly, and she couldn’t see the edges on the left and right.
Ann reached out and struck at the giant thing, only to find that the thing in front of her was smooth and jade-like, yet it managed to block her entry.
“Is there sorcery on this that resists spirits?” Ann looked up and down, but didn’t feel any magic on the giant object in front of her.
“Why is Dumor …… in a place like this?” The tracking scent disappeared and Ann, a little anxious, panicked, knocked on the giant object again.
Suddenly, dozens of light-colored roots grew out of the surface of the giant object, directly wrapping around Ann’s arm, and then pulling the person towards the interior.
With the appearance of those roots, An felt a familiar aura again.
“Dumo! Do you only dare to be so sneaky and hide in the shadows? Where is the vigor that you had back then to steal the position of the family heir from me?”
The spider leg behind Anne turned into a residual shadow and sliced down viciously.
Only the sharp spider legs only cut through a layer of epidermis of the slender root system, and couldn’t help An break free from the bindings.
Seeing this, An launched another attack with Pollution Erosion attached, and after a few strikes, she finally cut off two of the roots around her, and slightly broke free from her bonds.
But before she could completely move away, suddenly several more roots came together and formed the shape of an arm, choking her face and pulling her hard into the interior of the giant thing.
Ann’s upper body instantly disappeared, leaving only the lower part of her waist still struggling. Her eight spider legs kept striking the giant thing, trying to pull her upper body out, but to no avail.
At this moment, a dull and depressing voice resounded within this dark and chaotic space.
“You’re still so stupid, I only laid down a little bait, but I actually made you chase after it like a mouse.”
The smooth surface of the giant object fluctuated like water, revealing a male face.
As soon as the man’s voice appeared, Ann’s struggles became even more violent.
Her spider legs finally pressed against the surface of the giant thing, and her waist pushed hard, violently pulling her head out from inside the giant thing.
“Dumo!” An’s face was as disfigured as a melted wax statue, but her features were still there as she laughed fiercely, “Hahaha, look at your disgusting appearance! When you defected to Baidong for a vain legend and buried the entire family in the Valley of the Drooping Hand, it turned out that you did it just to turn into this inhuman, ghostly appearance you have now!”
The human face twisted slightly, “You always manage to provoke me easily.”
“What angers you is clearly your stupidity.” Although Anne was in her spirit state, her soul was obviously heavily damaged, and the upper half of her body was beginning to melt away.
As she spoke, the five features on her face slid downward.
But even in such a bad state, An still taunted Dumo.
“The Baidon family really thinks highly of you, is this cultivating you as a demon? Could it be that you handed over that treasure to Baidon?”
Dumo’s sculpted face trembled gently, then slowly regained its composure after a few seconds, “Do you want to know what I’ve been through? Then fuse with me, you will naturally understand everything about me, and you will also understand that my choice in the beginning was not wrong, my dear …… sister!”
On the surface of the smooth giant, a few more light-colored roots appeared, dodging the spider’s legs, wrapping around Anne’s upper body, strangling deep into her spirit, and continuing to pull the person towards the interior of the giant.
A color of pain flashed across Ann’s face, but her mouth was unforgiving, “I’m not your sister, after you betrayed the Blood Rose Clan, you’ve been removed from the clan!”
“Removing your name is fine, the direct Blood Rose lineage is all dead.” Human Face said with full concern, “But you are still my fellow sister, the other half of the soul, I need you to fuse with me, only then can we accomplish the most powerful blood and flesh sorcery the Blood Roses have ever done – Spirit and Flesh Fusion!”
As Andi struggled, the melting of her features had run down her skin to her neck.
The voice came from her chest, “Fusion? You’re simply trying to devour me!”
“Don’t think like that, the essence is to merge as one.”
Watching Anne’s body being pulled into the giant thing little by little, a pleasant smile appeared on the human face.
“Sister, if you really like the Blood Roses that much, I can re-establish the Blood Rose family, so just come in obediently.”
Once again, Ann’s face was pressed against the giant thing and gradually blended in.
Her voice came out from her abdomen again, “You betrayed the Blood Roses for that vain legend, and the Blood Roses don’t need you to rebuild them, hold on to your hardback book and live on!”
Upon hearing the words Hardcover Book, Dumo’s face twisted once again, and his voice became even more sullen.
“Unfortunately, that legend is false. What can make me enter the fourth rank is really still the family’s flesh and blood sorcery ……”
“No.”
“What?” Human Face was startled by the sudden voice, he looked to the bottom, at this time, most of An’s body had been pulled into the giant object, and the rest of his body melted beyond recognition, powerless to struggle anymore.
Where was that sound coming from?
“I thought you were this giant barrier, but it turns out you’re just a broken spirit body kept here.”
The human face was stunned to realize that the voice was actually coming from his own mouth.
“You, how could you?”
“Do you think I’ve had my intelligence eaten away by contamination, or have I been overwhelmed by hatred?
“Neither! I was deliberately devoured by you.
“Poor and foolish brother, how could you be so naive as to think that it must be my consciousness that was devoured after we became one?”
