Chapter 489 – Scorched Black
Chapter 489 Scorched Black
Getting this result, Izzy revoked her departure in frustration. She had to keep working for three more months to sustain her life in the city for this next period of time.
“I’ll just have to wait until the approval comes down before I bring up the separation.”
Izzy returned to the rental house and entered the bedroom, locking the door in the process.
Since his roommate had disappeared, Izzy had locked the door lock every time he returned to the bedroom.
She casually tossed her application return and other materials on the cabinet next to her bed, and then collapsed onto the one-meter-two wide single bed with her entire body.
But just as she lay down, she sat up again.
“Whew, it’s hot, why do I always feel parched lately?”
Izzy sat up and tugged at her collar.
It was now the end of September, and the weather had turned cooler from the heat of the previous period, but she had become even more afraid of the heat.
It was as if there was a fire burning in her body at all times, drying her out.
Just as Izzy was thinking about whether or not she should go to the public bathroom to take a shower, she suddenly heard a strange movement from the next room.
It was as if someone was shuffling their feet next door and walking, the soles of their shoes making a long, harsh scuffing sound against the floor.
Izzy’s hand shaking her collar stopped instantly.
Her body didn’t dare move, and her eyes turned to the wall adjacent to the next door.
“What, what’s going on, why is there suddenly movement next door?”
The wall inside the room here was relatively thin, and a slightly louder movement in the past could have been heard by her roommate.
But it was the first time Izzy heard footsteps as if someone was walking next door.
“Could it be that someone new has already moved in and the landlady hasn’t gotten around to telling me?”
Thinking so, Izzy’s stiff body gradually softened back up.
“Really, shouldn’t I be told before someone else moves in?” Izzy’s hand continued to tug at the neckline, relieving the dry heat that was radiating from the inside out.
Despite some impatience and unhappiness, she stood up, ready to meet her new roommate.
Even though their time together afterward might only be three months.
No sooner had Izzy stood up, however, than the communicator in the corner went off.
This communicator was normally kept in the living room, but only because Izzy was currently the only one living there, she had brought it to the bedroom table for convenience.
When the pleasant ringtone of the communicator rang, the footsteps next door came to an abrupt halt.
Izzy didn’t notice this and picked up the communicator.
“Hello.”
“Ah Izzy, the room next to yours is rented out today.”
It was the landlady.
She said she was the landlady, but in fact she was only in charge of renting out the room, and the real owner was unknown.
“Well, I know.”
“Huh? You got it? Well, he should be moving in tonight, but he doesn’t have a key, so since you’re home, open the door for him.”
The footsteps next door sounded again.
Izzy’s hand shook a little as she held the communicator, “You, you mean, he hasn’t moved in yet?”
“That’s for sure, if someone else had moved in, I would have told you first.”
Izzy didn’t say another word.
“Hello …… hello?” The landlady’s puzzled voice came through, and after failing to get a response from Izzy several times, the other person mumbled and shut off the communicator.
Izzy, still holding the communicator in his hand, stiffened in place.
If it wasn’t the new tenant next door, then who could it be?
Her ears stood up like a rabbit’s, concentrating on the sound of footsteps next door.
The kind of footsteps that trailed off as if they couldn’t lift their feet.
The sound came from behind the wall on Izzy’s side, a little toward the front door, and then ……
“Zee.”
The door to the room was well-maintained, and there was only a small sound as it opened; normally Izzy wouldn’t have been able to hear this sound, but today, for some reason, she could hear it particularly well.
Then she heard the footsteps begin to approach the door to her bedroom room.
As Izzy stiffened and watched, the door handle of the room was slowly turning.
Just like the day her roommate disappeared.
Exactly the same.
Izzy didn’t dare move, she was afraid that her movement would trigger something even more horrible. “My door is locked, anyone outside can’t open it, and if they can’t, they’ll leave, right?”
However the door handle that was only twisted a few times last time turned faster and harder this time!
A couple of the screws used for fixing it visibly wobbled, and then the doorknob turned even faster.
The door lock made a high-frequency crashing sound against the door frame, one after the other as if it was pounding on Izzy’s heart!
Suddenly!
The sound disappeared.
The doorknob no longer turned either, but just rested loosely on the door.
“Is the person outside gone?” Izzy still gripped the communicator in her hand so tightly that she almost crushed the casing.
But the sound of footsteps away that she had been expecting never sounded.
“That man, is he still standing behind the door?”
At that moment, the communicator in Itz’s hand suddenly rang again.
Izzy’s hand shook, nearly dropping the communicator, and in her panic, she accidentally pressed answer when she originally wanted to press close.
The landlady’s voice rang again.
“O Izzy, your new roommate is arriving now. He can’t open the door. In that case, I’ll have him knock on the door and you open it, okay?”
As the landlady spoke, a knock sounded.
Izzy slammed the communicator shut.
It was her bedroom door that she heard knocking.
And, the same knock followed on the communicator, where messages are delayed by a few seconds.
“This must be a dream, right?” Izzy was already numb with fear, “If it’s a dream, please let me wake up soon.”
The knocking quieted down after only one, as if the person outside was politely waiting for the girl to open the door.
“Yes, I locked the door, no one from outside can get in.”
Izzy’s throat felt as if it was burning dry, and she wanted to take a sip of water so badly, but she still didn’t dare move.
Just when she couldn’t help but turn her head to look for the glass of water that was placed on the table, in her afterglow she saw a dark shadow that was coming a little closer to the left side of her face.
The person outside …… came in?!!!!
“Ah !!!!!”
Izzy couldn’t hold back any longer and screamed in shock, her voice almost piercing through the doors and windows.
……
“Ah !!!!!”
Saul was just about to look down to check on the evil spirit in his hand when he was startled by a scream from a doorway away.
“What’s going on? Is there another evil spirit in there?”
Saul immediately reached out and twisted the lock cylinder of the door of the room in front of him with a gentle twist, pushing the door and stepping inside.
Inside the room, Izzy was leaning backward in a soft heap, while Komo was wrapped around her waist to prevent her from falling.
At this moment, waiting for Saul to enter, Xiao Zao raised her head and looked at Saul helplessly.
“Uh, it’s not your fault, it’s that she’s too nervous.” Saul thought back to when he had just arrived in this room and comforted the inexplicably somewhat aggravated Komo.
At that time, Saul came to Izzy’s rented house and used the “Silent Portal” to open the door directly, and when he looked up, he saw a black shadow kneeling outside one of the room doors.
Upon closer inspection, the shadow was not kneeling, but was a charred corpse that could only move a little bit on its knees because both of its feet had melted away.
The other person also had no hands, and was pressing the top of his uneven, equally charred skull against the handle of the bedroom door.
It was a newborn evil spirit.
Without saying a word, Saul flung his tentacles from his palms and jerked the opponent in half almost immediately. He then took out the round-bottomed bottle that sealed the evil spirit and put the already immobile evil spirit inside.
Just after doing this, he was startled by the shrieks in the room and nearly shattered the bottle he had just filled.
After calming Zo, Saul walked over to the girl, ready to put the passed out girl on the bed.
As a result, when he took hold of the girl’s wrist and tried to pull the person up first, the resistance in his palm suddenly disappeared, and the arm that was exerting force jerked back at once.
Saul lowered his head, spread out his hand, and saw that he was holding a wrinkled, flesh-colored “glove”.
On the opposite side, the skin of the girl’s left hand, which was rolled up in the algae, was starting to break from the wrist.
And the flesh that was exposed after she lost her skin was like a burnt and carbonized corpse. ……
Dried and charred black!
Knocking on the door for monthly votes!
