Chapter 607: Compulsion
Chapter 607 Compulsion
Richard believed that at the very least, within this second, half of the people in the entire assembly hall were as brain-dead as he was at first.
And the other half of the remaining people had already roughly heard about this matter.
The skeleton “crown” on the platform once again made a clicking sound, and the brain in the crown’s cage rose up and wriggled, projecting its thoughts once again into the minds of every member of the congregation:
“Yes, it is true that she uses brute force to weaponize the Hounds of the Profound, which is unthinkable, and sounds ridiculous to the point of being comical, but do not take it lightly, do not be careless, this power is far beyond what you can imagine – not to mention, there is more to her than meets the eye.
“During our most recent operation, this heretic also made an appearance, and she directly caused our ‘allies’ to suffer heavy damage; available clues indicate that this heretic is able to resist the spiritual power of the Sun Remnant, and that it is highly probable that her intrinsic nature has shifted away from the human race or that she has sacrificed her soul to a more superior transcendent being-
“She summoned a green flame and burned our allies with it, those flames are extremely dangerous, and such flames have appeared in Prand & Frost before, available intelligence suggests that the dangerous flames are coming right from that dreaded Ghost Ship.
“She is a follower of that phantom captain.”
The acolyte paused, not directly mentioning the ghost ship or the name of that captain, but as the words fell from his lips there was an instantaneous, slight commotion throughout the hall, with Annihilationists discussing in low voices, a series of cryptic pronouns carefully brought up in their cautious, suppressed, rapid-fire conversations, and an unseen tension spreading through the assembly hall.
Richard, however, breathed a sigh of relief – for once, at least, most people’s attention had finally shifted in the other direction.
And after a moment’s pause, the acolyte on the raised platform resumed speaking, “All present know what happened to the Frost – we suffered a major setback there, another acolyte was martyred in the flames, and we’ve been unable to confirm the full extent of that defeat until now,… ‘His’ power wiped out almost everything related to the Holy Lord in the entire Frost Sea, including our fellow churchmen, and the divine source in the deep;
“In Prand, the same ‘erasure’ took place, and the flames burned everything, including the Children of the Sun and the ‘Remnants,’ and all beings associated with the event did not escape ‘His ‘ liquidation, entire city-states were blockaded and subsequently purged, intelligence was cut off, those in the know disappeared into the grind of historical dislocation, and then the Church of the False God of the Deep took over everything ……
“With such a thorough ‘cleansing’, there wasn’t much intelligence to get out, and we spent a long time investigating the truth of what happened in the first place, and in the end, we could only determine that it was that ship and its owner who were at work …… That one from subspace The shadow that returned, this time stood against us.
“And now, we can be certain that ‘he’ has struck again, and that his followers have been directly responsible for major losses in our last few operations.
“And he has more than one follower.”
There had been complete silence in the hall, and a strange tension hung over everyone’s heads as the Saint moved those black skeletons beneath his body, and under his control, the visions of light and shadow floating in the air began to change, and the girl in the black dress became someone else – the famous “Witch of the Sea The girl in the black dress became another person – the famous “Witch of the Sea”, Lucrecia Abnormale.
“The heretic you have just seen has great power and a bizarre and sinister style of behavior, but she is only one of the followers of that phantom captain, and by no means the most powerful one, and the available evidence suggests that the ‘Witch of the Sea’ has also returned to her father’s command ……”
A buzzing commotion resounded through the hall as the congregation mingled and discussed those recent news circulating within the sect, while the acolyte on the raised platform quieted down and simply slowly shook those long eye stalks as he gazed down the hall at his followers.
After an unknown amount of time, a voice finally broke the silence, it was a somewhat raspy sounding voice from near the high platform, “Saints, we received word a while ago that that fleet was rebuilt, it seems ……”
“It seems that the news is true,” the Saint’s voice resounded in everyone’s mind, “I’m afraid that there will be more ‘followers’ appearing in that dream world next, it’s just that the only ones with clearer intelligence at the moment are the ones you’ve seen These two–“
The visions in the air changed, and the figures of the “Witch of the Sea” and the girl in the black dress appeared alternately in the projections.
“Lucrecia, a witch, master of many sorcery and curse powers, learned in the transcendental realm, she has a powerful army of servants, and an equally powerful ghost ship, the Dream of the Nameless One can weaken her power to a certain extent, she should not be able to bring that ghost ship and her army of servants into the dream realm, but even if you only face her alone, you must be on up twelve points of vigilance.
“The heretical female who calls herself ‘Sarah’ is most likely an assumed name, has a very young appearance, but that appearance could also be false, possesses strange powers, anomalous demonic contractors, and can be confirmed to be immune to at least the spiritual contamination from the Sun Remnant, and furthermore, in addition to the information known just now, there is one more thing about this heretic that is Extremely abnormal place, and that’s exactly the focus of what I’m going to say next-
“The Spectral Hound that traveled with her has the ability to reason and communicate.”
A commotion instantly reappeared in the hall, and this time the sounds of discussion coming from all directions were even more numerous and wider than just now. A Spectral Demon with reason?
If these words hadn’t come out of the Saint’s mouth, I’m afraid the first reaction of the Annihilationists on the scene would have been – where did this crazy talk come from!
Richard stood silently between his compatriots, he had anticipated such a situation however.
If he hadn’t personally experienced that unimaginable scene, he would never have believed that a Profound Hound would be able to spit out human words and communicate with his own sanity – although the process of that communication was not pleasant.
“Saint, are you telling the truth?” A member of the congregation couldn’t help but look toward the high platform and boldly asked, “A Profound Demon that possesses reason?”
“Unbelievable, but the evidence is overwhelming,” the pile of bones on the high platform slowly squirmed, and the surface of the brain encased in a prison of bones somehow floated with a faint glow, which seemed to be some sort of emotional response, “Therefore, we must do this particular Psi-Hound and its indentured servants more attention.”
The Saint raised one of his eye stalks, and without realizing it, his tone seemed to take on an uplifting and encouraging power.
“The intervention of that phantom captain is a challenge to us, a danger that I will not hide from my own countrymen, yet our cause has been doomed to danger from the start, and we cannot back down, nor will we choose to; operations in the Dream of the Nameless will continue, and so sooner or later, we will also have to deal again with ‘his ‘ followers.
“These ‘followers’ are powerful, but nowhere near as powerful as their masters, and they are few in number, and with adequate preparation on our part, these ‘followers’ are not invincible.
“And now, we have been able to determine that at least one of the ‘followers’ carries a secret of extreme importance in its body – that Phantom Hound of Reason, an enigma we have never seen before in our quest for truth, perhaps in it lies the final piece of the puzzle in the path of ascension.
“Find the heretic who calls herself ‘Sarah’ and capture her and her demons at any cost – the task is difficult and dangerous, my compatriots, but trust that it will be worth your while, the path to pure advancement has finally been revealed to We have been shown our true colors, and the difficult challenges are proof of the rightness of this path.
“There is no need to worry, compatriots, we do not need to confront that captain directly, we only need to find his followers, it is feasible …… and by the time our cause is finally accomplished, by the time the alternation of the ages is over, even that phantom captain will no longer be a threat to us, he will be a a phantom, remaining in the last second of this deep sea era ……”
The saint’s voice echoed directly in the depths of everyone’s mind, on that high platform, the black skeleton interwoven into the throne clicking, thorn bushes like bone spines and shell-like structures as if beating drums like a collision non-stop, and the surface of that living brain is floating layers of dense light curtains, accompanied by compelling words, the power released from the brain invigorated the spirit of everyone in the hall and gradually implanted a fervent fervor in the bottom of their hearts and minds. their hearts implanted the seed of fanaticism-
This seed took root and quickly counteracted the previous nervous awe brought on by the mention of the phantom ship and that phantom captain, and even turned this nervousness and awe into some kind of unexplained motivation, into a firmness of faith and mission!
Richard dumbly raised his head, subconsciously gazed at the saint’s eye stalks swinging in the air, he also felt the heat and impulse beating in his chest, and felt his beliefs become a little bit stronger, and the fear that had taken root in the bottom of his heart after seeing those ghostly green flames before was gradually dissolved. ……
However, at that moment, a soft voice drilled into his ears, as if the owner of that voice was lying on his shoulder, pointing at his ears, and “drilling” the voice directly into his brain: “Ah, he’s advising you to die… . the Rabbi is so sorry for you all ……”
Richard was jolted “awake”, and for a very brief moment, he felt a sudden chill, he felt as if something was spreading along his chest, along his neck, towards his brain, he felt that he had just heard a suspicious whisper, and that it originated from something very dangerous! ……
But he only blinked, and felt the warning signs in his mind dissipate.
He just looked around a bit puzzled, and then back up at the saint on the raised platform.
Why were his compatriots around him so excited, so fearless?
What the saint was saying was indeed true, and his pep talk made sense, but what about the dangers of the operation? Was everyone blind to it?
Richard frowned, always feeling that something was wrong, this trance-like feeling …… that made him feel as if he were falling into an odd dream, obviously awake at the moment, but his thoughts always seemed to be piled up with a chaotic, confusing blockage, as if… …as if his brain had been stuffed with cotton.
But soon enough, he forgot about this quandary, and the new changes in the hall diverted his attention.
A sudden “heat” swept through the assembly hall.
