268. Chapter 263: Primitive Werewolf

Chapter 263 – Primitive Werewolf
Lily was struggling to hold her feet in the blizzard.

The coldness spread inward from her skin, penetrating deeper into her flesh, blood, and bone marrow.

Her body was as stiff as a puppet, but burning desire smothered her heart. It was like a log that had been lit and then covered over, quietly emitting a great deal of heat and black smoke that smoldered her heart.

Lily felt her blood become sticky, like glue and sludge. They bound her torso, wrapping around her flesh and blood like ropes …… making her a prisoner.

–I am a prisoner within a shell!

The depths of Lily’s pupils once again lit up with scarlet fire.

The remorse of losing her book, the rage of being angered by that rabbit, and the aggression of trekking alone through the snow …… negative emotions turned into fuel, searing her soul and making her blood grow thicker and thicker.

And the big white rabbit jumped with unparalleled agility right in the middle of the blizzard. Every time Lily was about to lose her, it stopped and looked back mockingly; and when Lily was about to catch up with it, it hopped away again, making Lily feel her blood pressure getting higher and higher.

At first, her rationality was dissuading her from calming down.

But as she chased after it, her reason also said: screw it, get after it!

However, the cold wind outside was that harsh, and her torso was that stiff. Now that she was just running, she could hear creaking and squeaking acidic sounds coming from all parts of her …… body had already arrived at the limit.

Just then, Lily subconsciously looked back.

As a result, she realized that the path she came from had already turned into a white snow with no footprints. She looked down, but found that her side was full of messy footprints …… as if she was just spinning in place.

How did this happen?
[You are bound by mortal garb].

An ethereal female voice sounded.

[Thou shalt not approach the Night Rabbit unless you cast off your garments.]

Lily gritted her teeth and removed her clothes without thinking.

Strangely enough, it was as if she felt a liberated nature after that – it was a brand new power, infused into her.

Obviously, she got rid of the warm clothing all over her body, but she felt her skin gradually become warm. The blizzard couldn’t hurt her a single bit anymore.

She once again chased after the big white rabbit called “Night Rabbit”.

Her body is no longer stiff, her skin is no longer cold …… After she removed her clothes, she ran with all her might like a wild animal on all fours, her whole body steaming with white heat in the snowy night. But even so, she still can not run the rabbit.

You are bound by the flesh and blood of matter.

The voice sounded again.

It was like a wind chime or a crystal. Like a spring in a deep valley, it was clear and calm.

[You may not approach the night rabbit unless you throw away your flesh and blood.]

Only the rabbit remained in Lily’s scarlet pupils, continuing to run wildly.

She finally broke away from that ghostly bondage this time, and ferociously lunged towards the rabbit.

The rabbit didn’t react and was pinned to the ground by her.

And the violent hunger and thirst made Lily bite the rabbit’s throat, sucking its blood. The rabbit’s legs flailed violently, but even this could not dislodge Lily, and instead she wrapped her arms around the rabbit like a fierce lover, dropping to her knees and cradling it in her arms, burying her head in the knee-deep snow.

She drank the rabbit’s blood and began to devour it.

As Lily ate and drank, the bones in her body creaked – grayish-white fur grew out of her skin, and her pretty features gradually transformed into the head of a hideous wolf.

Eventually all that remained of the rabbit was the remains.

And Lily, who had transformed into a gray wolf, spun in place in some confusion, blood staining the top of her long wolf’s muzzle.

Just then, she suddenly saw the rabbit–

– – Isn’t that big white rabbit hanging in the sky!
She howled loudly at the moon overhead, trying to run for it.

At that moment, one wolf after another appeared out of nowhere in the snow.

The wolves met Lily’s howl, and together they raised their heads and howled at the moon. A strong feeling of joy washed over her.

[You are bound by the shadows beneath you.]

That female voice sounded for the third time.

[Thou shalt not approach the Night Rabbit until the shadows are cast away]

Lily looked down at her shadow in some confusion, her scarlet, bloodshot eyes gazing at the shadow, and then she tried to bite down into her shadow.

But at that moment, she was suddenly bound and hoisted up by several threads of silk drilling out of her own shadow.

Lily in wolf form struggled hard in her bound position, but she was unable to break the gray threads.

She struggled and struggled and gradually turned into her human form.

And the big white rabbit above the sky looked back at her and left again towards the other side of the sky.

Lily, who was bound in place, gazed at the Night Rabbit that had left her and howled almost mournfully. But in the end, she was unable to break free from the gray threads.

And as the moon set, Lily suddenly came to her senses.

–Self was still in the young master’s study.

Her clothes were thrown aside, while she herself was standing in the same place. Where was the great white rabbit in the cage in front of her eyes, only a book was lying peacefully in the cage.

“Great …… the book isn’t lost ……”

Lily subconsciously sighed in relief, but felt her voice become so hoarse.

She froze for a moment, then realized that she seemed to have something in her throat. She stifled a cough, then spat out a blood-stained clump of rabbit fur.

…… Wasn’t that, wasn’t that an illusion?

Lily was creeped out as she recalled the clear touch of the rabbit as she chewed and swallowed it.

And as she remembered the glee she felt when she tore into the flesh and blood, she was horrified to find wolf fur growing on her skin, and herself gradually crouching, eventually transforming into a gray wolf. …… is the curse of the wolf transformation spell?
Lily was startled, recalling the knowledge from the witch’s inheritance book.

But soon, she realized that it didn’t seem right.

Because unlike the case of being hit by the Wolf Transformation Technique, it seemed like she could change back at any time ……

With a movement in her mind, the wolf fur on her body subsided. She herself crouched on the ground, but resumed her human appearance.

“…… The Secret Continuation Book of the Way of Love?”

Lily murmured, feeling a little frightened at how she had lost her mind. If she had chosen to throw off the shadows at that moment, would she not have been able to come back?
And the desperate desire to gnaw on flesh and blood that welled up from the bottom of her heart after she had turned into a wolf scared her even more.

–The closer the person, the more she loved, the more she revered, the more she wanted to eat. The human form was fine, but if she turned into a wolf …… if Ivars was right in front of her, she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to curb her bloodthirsty impulses.

This form was too dangerous.

It was better to seal it, and pretend that she had never gotten the ability.

Lily thought so in her mind.

…… Despite this, she still felt some regret.

Because that wolf didn’t seem to be an ordinary beast. She vaguely felt that she seemed to have some special ability ……

But in order not to be sick, it is better to pretend that that ability does not exist.

She no longer had the leisure to pack up her things, but that worry also kept her from sleeping over. She was just worried that if she accidentally slept over, she would have that kind of dream …… of turning into a wolf and returning to the middle of the snowy plains.

As a result, she lay in bed and tossed and turned all night.

On the other hand, Ivars and Sherlock also did not sleep.

Aiwas’s side had already prepared the ceremony.

It was just that something seemed to have gone wrong on Sherlock’s side.

“How do I know if we’re going around the sun or the moon? In my past life, I’ve never had to use my knowledge of astronomy – I don’t mean that I can’t learn it, but my brain has gotten used to not accepting this kind of knowledge that isn’t useful to me. Of course, I know it’s useful now, but it’s going to take me a while to get used to it.”

Annoyed, Sherlock tossed aside the Introduction to Astronomy in his hand and iterated it with Introduction to Astrology, “And I’ve been graduating for so long, and Astronomy was still my freshman year subject-“

“But my father still likes you.”

Ivars interjected.

By “father” he meant Professor James here.

His “Mechanics of Asteroids” was of such a high order in the field of pure mathematics that there were not many people in the entire scientific community who could criticize it. In the field of astronomy, James was undoubtedly the first tier of professors.

“How do I know why!”

Sherlock yelled.

He sighed and then explained, “I was asking the professor for astronomy and math advice a lot. But that’s because I didn’t do well in those two classes, I just wanted to pass …… But the professor did treat me well. When I graduated, he even recommended me to join the Inspectorate, but I politely declined him.”

Ivars thought for a moment, “Since you were able to pass then, you should be able to pass now as well.”

“…… Maybe.”

Sherlock was a bit helpless, “But my brain is like a cloud of fog right now, I can’t remember anything here at all ……”

“Looks like the retard curse is still pretty retarded.”

Ivas commented, “Not spiritual enough.”

Sherlock then threw the two large books in his hand at Aiwas’s head in turn, which was easily grabbed by Aiwas with both hands in one hand.

“What about that?”

Sherlock was a little worried, “You’re almost done on your end, aren’t you? I see you’ve been busy for a long time …… Why don’t you undo my curse first, and I’ll hang back after I finish learning?”

“That’s not necessary. It seems like you really can’t get in the door all day and night …… But that’s okay. I can help you with this ritual you’re doing now, and where you don’t know how to do it, I’ll help you cheat a little first.”

Aiwas replied briskly, “But you have to finish these two books before your next promotion. You’ll be inside the promotion ceremony when you advance to transfer, and I won’t be able to help you then.”

“Definitely.”

Sherlock let out a sigh of relief and swore, “I’ll definitely finish reading them before my next promotion.”

— He had no idea when his next promotion would be.

Third energy level to fourth energy level was not something that could be accomplished in a month’s accumulation.

And if he didn’t work, he only needed almost a week or so to teach himself to get started. That should still be plenty of time.

“Then let’s take these two books along with us when we leave.”

Sherlock didn’t want to waste time, “I’ll take a look at …… after the investigation I’ll be able to learn it.”

“OK. Come to me when you feel you’ve almost learned it and I’ll give you a paper.”

Ivars said with a smile, “I’ve been educated in astronomy since I was a child …… Let’s go, it’s almost dawn.”

“By the way,” Sherlock asked casually as he followed Aiwass, “Which one is the ceremony praying to? Is it Weezer? I’ll bring some tribute over ……”

“No, you bring some black pearls.”

Ewas replied, “What this ceremony is praying to is the gaze of the Constant Me.”

UPDATED! Asking for votes at the beginning of the month!
Thanks to Remi w for throwing in an ally!
Oooh it’s still hard, but I’m able to code …… No fever, temperature normalized after a three hour sleep binge yesterday afternoon, didn’t go to the hospital.

If I hadn’t taken yesterday off, today’s update would have coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which would have been the perfect counter-axis darn it (pounding the ground)
