Chapter 365 – The White House

Chapter 365 – The White House

This Monroe’s mental state wasn’t quite right anymore.

Sol blinked and didn’t point that out.

Mark on the sidelines likewise didn’t have an extra reaction.

Rather, it was only after hearing the two mention it that Saul remembered that they had been in this hellhole for most of the year, possibly even longer, how they had solved their physical needs such as food and drink.

Saul himself did not have a problem, he had already known from Kong Sha’s request for help that they were trapped here, and had put a lot of food in his compressed traveling bag before he came.

It was just that the stock was definitely not enough for him to eat for another half a year.

“Where’s Kong Sha?” Sol asked.

Mark shook his head, a bit of worry on his face, “Konza was the initiator of this adventure, and one of the craziest, she even went into the Dead Season once, and was badly injured before she ran back.”

“Could the exit of the valley be inside the Dead Season?” Sol asked.

“No way, absolutely not!” Monroe’s reaction was huge, and he said with a face of resistance, “If the exit is inside the Dead Season, then I’d rather not go out for the rest of my life!”

Mark also sighed, “The deeper you go into the Dead Season, the more terrifying it becomes, you’ll know when you go and see it later. The Dead Season isn’t far from here.”

A gust of wind blew and the ankle-length grasses on the ground were crushed, and by the time they rose again, they had turned from green to yellow.

“Fall is coming!” Monroe called out happily, “Get some food!”

“I’m going to get food too.” Mark pressed on as well, “Sol you can turn around on your own, there could be cryptocrystalline matter hidden in these houses. Remember, where the land turns black under your feet is the dead season, just don’t go that way.”

Mark commanded and tried to run away, only to be grabbed by Saul.

“It’s possible to encounter elves in the fall, right? What are elves really like? Is there any other way to encounter an elf besides running?”

Mark broke free for a bit and didn’t, before he helplessly turned back and said quickly, “You can’t see them. If something strange is attacking you then it’s definitely an elf. If you don’t want to use sorcery then run first, and after escaping from their line of sight, just find a random house to go in and hide. That’s why we stayed in this habitat.”

Mark’s eyes were red, like a lone wolf that had been starving for days.

Saul let go of his hand, and the other man disappeared behind a white wooden house with a whoosh.

There was no one else around before Anne whispered, “Obviously he was calm just now, but suddenly he looks like a starving ghost.”

Morton did have a guess, “It could be that the fall appears briefly and they have to prepare enough food while they can.”

Agu suggested, “Master, although you have prepared food as well, we can also go and gather some food just in case.”

Sol nodded and assigned tasks to the four.

Herman went after Mark’s trail to look for food, Agu and An, whose mental bodies were even sharper, split up to look for cryptocrystalline matter, and Morton followed Saul.

“Don’t go too far, and if you find the cryptocrystalline substance, call me over immediately. Your bodies are slow to perceive and can’t carry cryptocrystalline substance.”

An and Agu nodded.

Agu said, “Got it. When we find the Cryptocrystalline Plasm, we’ll keep an eye on it and not let it disappear.”

The few people split up.

Saul took Morton and decided to start by looking at the houses on the edge.

While it may have already been searched, Saul was confident that his mental powers were strong enough that he might find something the others had missed.

This white wooden house was the elf’s habitat, and it was also the place where Mark and the others found the cryptocrystalline mass.

Approaching the white wooden house, Saul didn’t rush to enter, he first turned around outside and realized that there was something strange about the exterior structure of this house he had chosen.

It had one door and four windows.

Two of the windows were on the same wall as the door, the other two windows were on the left and right side walls, while the back wall did not have a single window.

The door wasn’t big, and Saul had to duck his head to pass through it.

The windows were even smaller, though the heads were large, like a vent.

There was no doorknob, no lock, and the elf didn’t seem to need to lock the door.

Thor entered with his head down, and Morton had to stoop even more to walk in. The house lifted less than two meters, and it was a bit depressing to stay inside.

At a glance, apart from a few straw mats, no other furniture decorations were found.

“Do elves live that simply?”

One of Saul’s hands transformed into an octopus tentacle-like shape – it had almost become his instinct, and did not cause a shock to his mental body.

He observed with his eyes while brushing every inch of the ground with his tentacles, all the while analyzing the living habits of the elves in his mind.

Although he originally somewhat resisted elf related knowledge, …… come all the way.

Unfortunately, he and Morton searched the first room and found nothing.

So they went to the second neighboring house.

The second house was one door and six windows.

Four of the windows were all on the same wall as the door, and the other two were also on the left and right walls.

Before entering, Saul stopped to look around, “Morton, don’t you think this house looks a little like a man’s head.”

“Very much so.” Morton agreed, “And it’s ugly.”

Saul let out a laugh.

Indeed, if someone looked like that, they must be ugly.

The house was slightly larger, but Saul still had no luck inside.

“Should we call Penny back?” Saul hesitated for a moment, but then dismissed this idea of his, “Penny didn’t come back of her own accord, so she should have something to do. Finding the cryptocrystalline substance is not the most important thing at the moment.”

Right now, other than using the Cryptocrystalline Substance as some sort of resource to replenish Penny’s energy, Saul didn’t have any particular need for it.

The two of them walked out of the house, pondering whether the next step was to continue searching for the Cryptocrystalline Plasm or to check on Mark and Monroe first.

“I’m afraid the other two haven’t found the cryptocrystalline mass either.”

If Ann and Agu had found a clue, they would have definitely informed Saul.

However, when Saul lowered his head and emerged from the white wooden house with six windows, he saw two women coming around the back of the house in front of him.

Saul was in a trance for a moment before he hesitantly spoke, “Kongsa?”

The woman walking in front also saw Saul, her red lips curling into a smile.

“Ah, you’re really here.”

Even in her loose-fitting witch’s robe, Kong Sha’s slender figure would still be vaguely outlined between walks.

Judging from the magic fluctuations on the other party’s body, she was still a second level apprentice, but her aura was much better than in the Sorcerer’s Tower.

It was as if the matter of being trapped in the Elven Valley was torture for others, but it was enjoyment for her.

In comparison, the female apprentice who followed behind her was much inferior, and her entire body seemed to want to shrink into the wizard’s robe.

“When you invited me, you didn’t say you were asking me to save the day.” Saul turned his eyes back to Konza’s face.

Konza blinked and smiled a teasing smile, “But you came anyway. I was afraid that if I did ask you to come and save the day, you wouldn’t come.”

Confessa points to the female apprentice behind herself, “Introducing, Cassillo, just promoted to third level after coming in.”

Saul had actually noticed Cassillo a long time ago.

She coweringly followed Kong Sha, and didn’t dare to raise her eyes to look at Sol. Only when Kong Sha introduced herself did she raise her head quickly, but it only allowed Saul to glance at her features behind her bangs before immediately lowering her head.

Through the broken strands of hair, Saul could still see her pale, trembling lips.

Such a person was a third level apprentice whose strength had already exceeded Kong Sha’s?
How is it instead like her follower …… or captive?
