Chapter 354: Sweet Dreams

Chapter 354: Have a Good Dream
“Hayden, that’s all for today. You go back to ……”

Saul’s words ended abruptly the moment he saw Hayden.

Hayden was currently sitting on the floor, his back leaning helplessly against the wall.

She lifted her head with difficulty and pulled a smile at Saul, “My lord, I may not be able to move now.”

Both of Hayden’s eyes fell out and rolled onto his robes and under the lab bench on the side.

The culprit for his eyes falling out was the white prismatic crystals sticking out of the sockets.

Saul immediately received both the notes in his hand and the Alpha Necklace into his compressed traveling bag, and then walked quickly to Hayden’s side.

He carefully examined Hayden’s skull and found that apart from the eyes, the ears, and the sides of the neck, there were crystals precipitating out.

They were like bone spurs, sticking out from under the skin without causing the wound to bleed.

It seemed that the artificial blood in the experiment’s body was fluxed and became part of the crystals the moment it flowed out.

As a soul-infused experimental body, Hayden was originally required to have regular checkups every six months.

However, the last checkup was advanced due to the termination of the experimental program, and now that nearly half a year had passed, Hayden’s body was unexpectedly showing signs of collapse!
Saul could have followed Mentor Katz’s example and helped Hayden remove the “rust” in his body, but looking at Hayden’s current condition, I’m afraid that the problem is with his brain.

That’s the part that Tutor Rum is in charge of. Saul doesn’t know how to do it, and he doesn’t even know how it works.

“My lord, am I, am I finished?” Hayden’s voice trembled a little.

The tip of his tongue, which was occasionally exposed, had dots of crystals on it, and the white skin at the collar had a similar substance on it.

Body parts like hands and feet that were farther away from the head, on the other hand, were normal.

But when Saul reached out to pinch his musculature and found that it was on the hard side and also felt like a hard substance, he knew that it wouldn’t be long before Hayden’s body would be pierced by crystals as well.

The soul infusion experiment was terminated, and this body of Hayden’s actually couldn’t even last a year.

Saul seriously doubted that even if he did regular overhaul of the experimental body, I’m afraid that it would only last for two or three more years.

Saul gently buckled Hayden’s body to the ground, then ran his fingertips down her back.

The clothes on Hayden’s back immediately split and fell to the sides, revealing her back, and the golden spell formation on her back.

Nothing went wrong with the golden spells, but between the changes in the spells, a face in excruciating pain was revealed.

Obviously, Hayden’s true feelings had been cut off by the spell formation, or else she would be twitching in agony on the ground right now, instead of just flattening out on the ground like a dead fish.

“It’s good that nothing went wrong with the spell.” Saul was more or less relieved, “Hayden, your body came from a transformed Level 2 Apprentice corpse, and now the filler inside the corpse has apparently undergone an irreversible reaction. Although I can help you temporarily weed out these crystals and allow you to regain basic mobility, this can only treat the symptoms but not the root cause.”

Saul turned Hayden’s body out and found that a layer of white crystals had also appeared on his lips.

“And there’s no way to fully restore you to your previous state with my abilities. But you do have an option ……”

Saul paused for a few seconds to let Hayden digest the previous information.

Only when he saw Hayden’s slowly pursing lips did he continue, “I will temporarily seal you in a solution that will dissolve the crystals in your body, as well as the padding in your body, leaving you temporarily paralyzed. And do your best to restore the contamination of your spiritual body in the process.

After that I will find you another body. But in the meantime, you will be in a state where you can only think but not move for a long time.

In order to prevent you from going crazy, I will seal your consciousness at the same time and make this all a dream.

Just this dream can not wake up is not certain …… All of the above are never verified experimental conception. So, are you willing to take this risk?”

Sea Lantern slowly opened her mouth, which was already covered in crystals, like a crystal cavern instead of a human mouth.

“I’m willing.” Her voice was a little muffled, but her tone was firm.

Saul froze as he heard two voices in it, one of Hayden and one of his second personality.

In this moment of life and death crisis, they unexpectedly made the same choice without hesitation. Saul nodded with satisfaction, “Then I will begin.”

With that, he got up and began to configure the solution.

Most of the materials he had already prepared, so he just needed to configure them on the spot.

The material that held the solution was the sarcophagus, which was large enough and well sealed.

During the process of configuring the solution, he began to use knives, saws, and the like to cut off the large prismatic crystals that were evident on Hayden’s body.

No witchcraft could be used for fear of triggering a mutation reaction.

At the sound of harsh friction, his consciousness drifted to the necklace in his arms.

Then he shook his head and laughed lightly.

Just now, when facing Nick’s body, listening to the sound of “break it”, Saul had also suspected Kori for a moment.

Her father was the Duke of May Highlands, the highest level of nobility in the Duchy of Kemah. And the apprentice Bree wizard who had once sent a slender ghost shadow to Saul was also a court wizard that only high-level nobles could access.

The letter that Kismet had given to Saul had also reached him through Kori’s brother who had given it to Kori.

Coupled with today’s “poisonous, fragile” birthday gift, Saul is difficult not to produce a series of associations, and even began to doubt their own friendship over the past three years.

But when his chaotic thoughts were interrupted by Hayden’s change of heart, they were smoothed out by the shift in focus.

When he calms down, he’s able to think more.

At the very least, when Kori had first reached out to Thor, no one but the tower master had known of his gift.

This time even without the aid of the diary, Saul was willing to trust his own judgment, his own intuition.

But it also gave him a wake-up call.

Saul clapped his hands together and picked up Hayden, who was already clean and slippery from his treatment, and slowly lowered him into the solution that was already starting to show a violent reaction to the sorcery.

During this time, Hayden kept his teeth clenched.

No matter how much pain the cutting of the crystals and the corrosion of her skin by the solution caused, she did not let out a single moan.

At the last moment, when her face was submerged in the solution, Hayden laboriously twisted her head towards Saul and looked up at him with eyes that were no longer in their sockets.

Saul leaned down, and despite the fact that his arms were also submerged in the solution from holding Hayden up, and despite the fact that Hayden likely couldn’t see a thing at this point, he continued to smile with a gentle smile on his face and said, “Go to sleep, and have sweet dreams.”

……

The thick and irritating liquid seals the five senses, darkness descends, and the pain is far away for a moment.

A tiny bit of light flickered, and silver butterflies floated past, unveiling the roiling blackness.

Sunlight beat down, shining on Hayden’s eyelids.

Hayden opened his eyes and subconsciously raised his hand to shield them from the sun.

The bright light penetrated through, turning the palm of his hand a slightly transparent orange-red color.

He propped himself up on the ground and sat up, realizing that he was lying on the grass in the small garden of his home.

“Hayden!” His father came over angrily, still waving his riding crop in his hand, “If you don’t learn the Common Tongue properly, I won’t enroll you if the Sorcerer’s Tower comes back next year to recruit apprentices!”

“Then I won’t enroll you!” Hayden laughed out loud and lay down with his hands resting on his skull.

The small grass softly supported his body.
