Chapter 350 Forward warning

Chapter 350 Long Range Warning
Monroe was bleeding halfway down his face but seemed to be unconscious, and when Saul didn’t go in right away, he just kept his hand up like that, his thumb and forefinger close together, making a show of squeezing something.

Saul almost asked “what do you want”, but the moment he opened his mouth, he swallowed his voice.

He saw that Monroe’s fingers were slightly concave. It was as if he was actually squeezing something.

Saul took a step forward, his foot on the doorframe.

Until now, the diary hadn’t given the slightest hint.

“No big problem.” Saul didn’t feel relieved when the diary didn’t prompt.

After becoming a sorcerer’s apprentice for the past few years, he was no longer that white-skinned mushroom who needed the diary to help him judge any danger.

Just with his spiritual probing and intuition, Saul was basically certain that what Monroe was holding was not considered dangerous to him.

But rather creepy.

“Do I really have to take this thing? It feels like it’s a nuisance whether it was left for me by Kongsa or not.”

Despite thinking that he could deal with what Monroe was holding, Saul was also considering whether to take it or not.

After all, there were quite a few troublesome things on his body, and there was also a mission on his body right now that had a time limit of five years, or could end at any time as well.

However, when Saul was hesitating, a voice suddenly rang in his ear, with a bit of impatience, with a bit of madness.

“Ahhhhhhhhh! Brother Saul! I want! Brother Saul! I want I want ah!”

A silver light flashed and Penny suddenly appeared landing on Thor’s left shoulder shouting into his left ear, then jumped to his right shoulder and again instilled magical sounds into his right ear.

“Brother Saul! I want that! Master! Give it to me, I want it!”

Saul felt like he had black lines all over his face.

“Quiet!” He mentally chided.

The diary then flipped open with Saul’s mind, with a gesture of throwing Penny in.

The obsessive magical voice immediately disappeared, but the Nightmare Butterfly didn’t give up, it flew in front of Saul and kept circling around inverted eights.

Saul could now manage to look around and ignore the flash of silver.

His next step was to walk straight in and come to Monroe.

And after Monroe said his last words, he waited for Saul without moving a muscle.

Saul stood, in front of Monroe, and didn’t reach for it first, but asked in his mind, “Penny, what is Monroe holding?”

“It’s cryptocrystalline mass. It’s like me, a substance between the physical and the conscious. Master, will you give it to me? With it, I’ll be able to regain a lot of my strength!”

“Cryptocrystalline matter?” Sol had heard this word before, but here, it seemed to have turned into a substance. And it was a substance with properties as magical as the Nightmare Butterfly.

“Master, you can only use blood and flesh to store cryptocrystalline substance, using any other sealing method you have available will easily result in the loss of cryptocrystalline substance.”

“Is it because blood and flesh can access the Cryptocrystalline Substance?” Sol asked in his mind.

“Not exactly, fizzle fizzle fizzle fizzle ……” Penny actually made a sucking sound, “When you store it in flesh and blood, your consciousness will also tell itself that there’s something there, and then your nerves will send back an uncomfortable sensations, thus locating the presence of the cryptocrystalline mass both physically and mentally.”

“But if you put it in a box, when you look at the empty box and have the slightest thought as to whether there is nothing in it, you will never find the Cryptocrystalline Mass again.”

“Hiss-” Hearing Penny say that, Saul suddenly became interested in the Cryptocrystalline Plasm, “Interesting.”

Without further hesitation, he placed his hand underneath Monroe’s fingers and moved it upwards a little.

Saul, who was no longer a white boy in the wizarding world, didn’t need to be reminded by Penny to strengthen his cognition by murmuring in his mind.

“There’s a fully transparent substance there, and now my hand is about to touch it.”

“There’s a fully transparent substance there, and now my fingers are five millimeters away from it.”

“Now I should touch it.”

Saul had just thought that when his fingertips suddenly touched something.

There was no temperature, or rather the temperature was consistent with his surface body temperature.

But he could feel what he had touched, and his fingertips sank slightly in front of his eyes.

Then Saul’s thumb pressed up against it as well.

He pinched the cryptocrystalline mass from both the top and bottom, following Monroe’s example! After making sure Saul held it steady, Monroe finally released his fingers.

“You’d better put it in a place where the very thought of it would be uncomfortable.” Monroe pointed back to his own eyes, “That way when you forget it’s there, there’s still subconsciousness left in your body that sends out uncomfortable alarms to help you remember it again.”

He looked much more normal again now.

Sure enough, fear stems from the unknown.

When you’re on the same frequency as what you think is a wizard lunatic, you realize that the other person is sane and you were originally the chaotic, unknown fool.

“This is something Kongsa handed me when he came back for the last time. He said that one day, you will definitely come to her, and when you do, he asked me to give this to you.”

As Monroe spoke, he bent low to pick up the eyeball he had just dropped from the ground.

That eyeball was already visibly cloudy and deformed.

After picking it up from the ground, Monroe didn’t care if there was dust on it or not, he just shoved it into his mouth.

“Cluck …… cluck ……”

There was some translucent pulp flowing out from the corner of his mouth.

“She also said …… cackle …… if you want more, go find her on the cliff on the east side of the Drooping Hand Valley.”

Saul’s fingers squeezing the cryptocrystalline mass tightened slightly, a slight tingling sensation coming from his fingertips.

“The east side of the Valley of the Drooping Hand?”

“It’s the Forest of Four Seasons!” Penny, who had lifted her gag, immediately informed in a low voice, “But that’s what we call it, the wizarding world generally calls it ‘Elven Valley’!”

Elf!

Sol’s heart skipped a beat.

Kongsa was actually trying to trick him into going to the Elven Valley?

“Thanks, I don’t want it.” Saul was tempted to say that.

But he was just about to give up when the diary suddenly flipped open and black writing began to emerge on the white paper.

[November 13th, 316th year of the Solstice Calendar

Madness has called to you.
You choose to ignore it;

Chaos invites you to dance.

You shake your head and refuse;
Misery serves up a delicacy, you put down your napkin.

You put down your napkin;
Resentment fades from your clothes.

You close your eyes.
So when life passes you by.

Please don’t complain that you can’t do anything about it.

“This is a …… death warning!”

And, analyzing the language and text, this is definitely not a death warning that will happen in the near future.

It was like the first level of a quest line, where picking the wrong one could change the final ending for better or worse.

This is not the first time the diary has issued a distant warning, but it is the first time it has issued a distant warning of death.

Saul immediately took it seriously, even as the touch of the cryptocrystalline mass in his hand became clearer and clearer.

“I know,” Sol stared intently at Monroe to see what else he knew, “I’ll be there when I need to be.”

Monroe smiled, “There’s no rush, it’s about to snow, so it’s not too late to leave when it melts.”

At that moment, Penny chimed in, “The Forest of Seasons, there is no winter. So you can’t get in during the snow season.”

Even though the diary had issued a death warning, Saul didn’t panic very much.

He even let out a laugh, “Just as well, I’m afraid of the cold.”
