Chapter 334 – Too Much Curiosity

Chapter 334 – Too Much Curiosity

Hayden’s second personality was eager to take risks, somewhat impatient, but extremely proactive. Without waiting for Saul to give the word, she sits herself down in the inductive chair and attaches a connection patch to her body.

Saul didn’t object as he walked over to help Hayden organize her instruments, and once everything was in place, he began to pull out his manipulation dials and start recording.

“Now you stay still and stay relaxed, I’m going to record the initial data.”

Hayden was cooperative.

Five minutes later.

“Okay, now on to fine motor skills, like stretching fingers and toes.”

Hayden dutifully did as he was told, but he added a lot more movements to his repertoire. For example, smiling at Saul and sticking out his tongue and sweeping it across his lips.

Saul, however, gave no feedback at all in the face of the rather suggestive gesture, and didn’t even let his pencil pause for a moment.

“Okay, next up is breaking free, you will then attempt to break free of the sealing spell behind you.”

Hayden’s second personality cooperated with Saul in a series of experiments.

Saul found that this second personality was braver, or crazier, than the main personality.

There were some very painful, even cringe-worthy-sounding experiments that she was able to go along with without changing her face.

Especially the breaking free experiment, Hayden was especially hard on herself, obviously already twisted in pain, still using all her strength to break free from the golden spell on the container.

In the end, it was Saul who called off the experiment for her.

For three days in a row, it was the second personality that cooperated with Saul, and it was only on the fourth day that Hayden’s main personality ran out.

Saul was more than a little relieved, because Hayden’s second personality was, in some ways, bold.

But despite the near unconditional cooperation of the two Haydens, Saul was still not quite satisfied with the progress of the current experiment.

Even if the index of changes in Hayden’s spirit body and container were measured any more, her spirit body had been fixed in a container by Mentor Rum’s spell.

With Saul’s strength, he was still unable to unlock a confinement spell formation that a senior first-rank wizard had been involved in for many years and constantly improving.

“It’s best to experiment with a conscious body like Herman’s that is flexible and can move in and out.”

One afternoon, Saul hugged his arms and browsed under the results of these days’ experiments, considering in his mind what the next breakthrough should be.

“What I want to document is the common problem of repulsive reactions when spirit bodies enter different containers. It’s a pity that Mentor Rum and the others don’t have a diary to solve the problem of contamination suffered by spirit bodies in the outside world, so they don’t even really allow spirit bodies that have entered containers to undergo re-transfers, so as to avoid contamination that would cause attrition of the experimental body in the process.”

Sol could understand the mentors’ choice.

He had yet to find out why Herman had suddenly uttered the phrase “kill me” that he had not heard for a long time when he had transferred his consciousness body for the second time and entered the female container.

Could it be that he had accidentally startled some powerful soul in the wizard’s tower when he possessed the body?

Saul had never found the owner of the phrase “kill me”, and no one had even mentioned it in the resurrection experiments of Golza’s mentor.

But he vaguely felt that this sentence …… might be related to Mrs. Yura.

In the resurrection experiment, the one who has the least say is actually the person who is resurrected, right?
Saul had been staring blankly at Herman s experiment record for a long time when a silver butterfly floated in from the distance.

After the newborn Penny transformed into a silver butterfly, she gained a small degree of freedom with Saul’s permission.

It sometimes rested on Saul’s left shoulder, sometimes flew around him, and occasionally wandered inside the second storage room.

She seemed to have lost all her abilities and could only surround Saul like a mascot.

Nonetheless, Saul cautioned Penny not to stray too far from him, much less enter other people’s dreams.

Each time Penny balked.

Saul didn’t need her to swear, either, but only told her that if she did it once, she’d be waiting to be pinned to the pages of a book forever.

Penny was terrified of being put back in her diary and swore back and forth in a little girl like voice every time.

Now, she had slipped enough again and was ready to return to lounging on Saul’s left shoulder. Just when she was less than a meter away from Saul, a black shadow suddenly flew out from the back of Saul’s neck, its jagged shark-like teeth wide open, and its black tongue twitching incessantly like a snake’s tail.

The hunter who had been in ambush for a long time launched a deadly attack on the unsuspecting prey.

“Ka-ching!”

“Ah !!!! Stinky little algae, disgusting!”

The Nightmare Butterfly was swallowed in one gulp by Little Algae and then emerged from its head again, thrashing around high in the air as if trying to shake off the non-existent saliva on its body.

Algae, who had succeeded in her sneak attack, puckered her tongue at Penny.

It seemed that Penny’s arrival had given the algae a sense of crisis, and it would always sneak up on the butterflies when they returned.

Even though she couldn’t touch the butterfly, she never gave up.

And Penny …… Sol suspected in her eyes that this seemingly tender fellow was teasing Xiao Zao every time.

She just wants to make a fool of herself, lower her posture, and integrate into the small group of Saul as soon as possible.

Looking at his own little algae who was so pleased that he was shaking his head, Saul could only rub his forehead speechlessly.

“Forget it, as long as Penny doesn’t intend to make a fool out of Zo, just let them have their fun. There are six members in the diary’s Consciousness plus them anyway.”

“Maybe I’ll have to adapt to a more lively atmosphere than the current one later.”

Penny ducked away from Zoë and landed on Sol’s notes.

Her tentacles wiggled as if she were actually reading.

Who knew that the next moment, she expressed her displeasure with Sol’s experiment!

“Brother Saul, brother Saul, why are you studying corpses here if you don’t continue studying the battlefield of consciousness? Corpses aren’t fun at all, they can’t even dream.”

Saul stood up abruptly, even the stool behind him was knocked over by him and landed on the ground with a “bam”.

The little algae hadn’t retracted yet, and was startled by the sound, twisting his head around in surprise, spitting out his little black tongue, and wondering what was going on.

Only to see Saul’s cold face, his eyes locked on the butterfly, “I’ve never said that word to you, where did you hear about the Battlefield of Consciousness?”

Penny seemed to be startled as well, she flew halfway through the air before landing.

“I was not observing you, when I peeked into some of the history. Didn’t memorize most of it, but still left some bits and pieces.”

Saul sneered in his heart.

He had suspected from the start that this Nightmare Butterfly hadn’t even lost all her abilities like she said.

The Nightmare Butterfly’s form in the diary was a bookmark, not a page.

And compared to the pages of a book, a bookmark was actually something that could exist on its own.

Not being a book page, whether or not it would answer the truth in the face of Saul’s question could not be discerned according to the previous experience with the black book page.

But the initiative is still still in Saul’s hands, and with a single thought, he can make the diary immediately take Penny back and clamp her hard into a pancake!
And why Penny lied and pretended to be useless …… in the first place could be that she had just been imprisoned by the diary and had become Saul s possession and was used to acting cautiously.

As for now ……

Algae rolled up the stool and put it back in place, Saul slowly sat down, one hand leaning on his chin, “Since you still remember some of this, let’s talk about what you remember. Why the sudden hatching? Why did you observe my history?”

…… Probably after realizing that Saul wasn’t a brutal person, he decided to slowly spread his wings in order to increase his importance and status.

The Nightmare Butterfly stood still on the paper, looking harmless.

It sighed, “Alas, who made us Nightmare Butterflies so curious that we have turned ourselves into an endangered race!”
