Chapter 307 Manuals
Chapter 307 The Manual
But Saul quickly disproved that guess on his own.
If Kukin had taken over the second storehouse just three days after Saul left, Saul hadn’t been planted with the mark of the Lost Soul Flower at that time.
He hadn’t even arrived in Mill Sail Town yet, and as a matter of fact, the plan to plant the imprint on him hadn’t even begun.
Kukin’s appearance shouldn’t have anything to do with the imprint.
Rum and Anzai had issued separate quests within three days of each other, was there any other relationship between them? Was Kujin allowed to take over the treasury work for a different purpose?
Despite thinking that it was unlikely that Kujin was the maintainer of the imprint, however, just to make sure, Saul asked the diary to fly out the flattened frail imprint.
The imprint did not respond.
“Also, an imprint sustainer needs to be able to have regular contact with me, and Kujin clearly doesn’t fit that bill.”
Kujin didn’t realize that Saul had already thought about so many things the moment he took the manual and imprinted his spiritual power.
He only looked around slightly ruefully after letting go of his hand, and then took the initiative to say goodbye to Saul and exit the second vault.
After Kukin left, Saul checked the imprint again out of caution, and there was still no change.
Subsequently, without further delay, he immediately notified the tower master through the summoning pen that he had returned, and asked the tower master to come over in person.
“Next, it’s up to the Tower Lord to deal with this seal.”
Only after writing the last word did Saul let out a slight sigh of relief.
The tower master should come over soon when he saw the message, but it was also possible that he was busy with something and needed to delay for a while.
Saul believed that this time he wouldn’t let Madam Yura do it for him.
The waiting Saul’s spirit was still tense, wanting to find something to do for himself he picked up the treasury manual that Kukin had just handed over and looked through the custody of the treasury supplies during the time he was no longer there.
Just as Kukin said, the first senior to take over Saul’s job received two consecutive assignments as soon as he took over the warehouse.
Saul carefully examined the mission requirements inside and found that it wasn’t some very important materials – at the very least none of them were numbered.
However, the timeframes requested by the mentors were rather tight, so it was thought that that senior must have had his hands full for some time.
Coupled with his subsequent strong request for a job transfer, Saul guessed that Rum or Mentor Anzai had even “scolded” him.
“Looking at it like this, it’s more like deliberately sending someone away.”
Saul turned to the next page.
Kujin took over the work of the treasury. In the next period of time, there were still a few tutors posting quests.
All in all it was a lot busier than when Saul was around.
Sometimes work just likes to bully newcomers, and the more raw they are on the job, the more likely they are to meet difficult problems.
Kukin took on a total of four assignments during the better part of his time in the second warehouse.
Two with Mentor Anze, one with Mentor Monica, and one with Mentor Kaz.
“Mentor Kaz?” Sol flipped the manual to the next page, “Ah, Mentor Kaz’s was an entry delivery.”
“The turn-in item is …… Nick’s body ……”
A dark light flowed under Saul’s eyes, but there was little change of emotion on his face.
He continued reading.
“Because the body has only just been disposed of, it is currently stored in a sarcophagus …… to release the odor.”
Saul closed the manual and got up, ready to check the sarcophagus.
“Letting the smell go” was a substitute for what Saul had previously called the body “guest”.
It implied a short period of isolation to see if there would be any other changes.
Since Saul had handed over the job, he naturally needed to examine the dangerous object.
Just as he had just stood up, a hand suddenly rested on his shoulder.
Saul was just about to break free when his afterglow saw the pink bandage wrapped around that hand, immediately stopping his subconscious struggling reaction.
In the next second, his eyes went black, and Saul traveled through a dark mezzanine full of eyes, instantly arriving in an unfamiliar room.
This room was dark, so dark that it made him think for a moment that the space shuttle hadn’t stopped.
There were none of the ubiquitous candle lights in the wizard’s tower here. Not a single one.
Saul could only barely observe the room he was in through his semi-immersive meditative thoughts
“This is the topmost floor of the Sorcerer’s Tower.” Golza let go of Sol and took two steps back.
The room seemed to be very narrow, so much so that Golza only took two steps back and his back was pressed against the wall.
“Make yourself comfortable.”
It was only after Sol looked around that he realized that the room was unusually small.
It was no more than a meter wide and just over two meters long.
It was said to be a room, but it could only put down a single bed.
And now, there was no bed in the room, not even a chair. There was only a soft carpet on the floor.
More like a coffin.
If Saul really “sat anywhere” as Golza said, he could only sit on the floor.
He might as well stand.
Golza seemed to be casually polite, Saul did not sit down, he also did not say anything.
“I see that your mental body is unusually solid, having fused the locator?”
Sol was a little surprised in the bottom of his heart, but nodded honestly on his face, “Yes, Lord Tower Master, you can tell?”
Golza didn’t explain how he could tell, he just stared at Sol for a while, and then felt some emotion, “Just entering the third level, you can already fuse the locator into your mental body …… You’ve already boasted of having passed the hardest step in the promotion of a third level apprentice to a full-fledged sorcerer. ”
“Indeed!” Saul thought to himself, “The hardest step for himself at the apprentice stage was actually turning the diary into his own locator, but after this step, I have almost reached the level of an ordinary formal sorcerer in this aspect of locators!”
“After entering the third level, you still come to me for help, it seems like you’ve encountered a tricky enemy this time. Tell me about what you experienced in Mill Sail Town as well as Black Fort.”
Saul licked his dry lips and slowly told about his experiences this month.
On the way back, he had already thought about what to say and what not to say, so the narrative now came naturally.
Golza just listened quietly, his change of mood could not be seen in the darkness.
But Sol intuited that the other party had been calm, as if the death of the Nightmare Butterfly by Kismet’s design, his own sneak attack at the Black Castle, and the suspicion that there was an abnormality in the Kemah Duchy were not big problems.
Golza only moved his neck when he felt something abnormal in his mental body for a moment after hearing about Saul’s fight with Cadiz.
When Saul finished speaking, the dark room returned to tranquility, and the tower lord across from him remained motionless, as if he had been transformed into a statue.
At that moment, Saul heard a scuffling sound coming from across the room, and he endeavored to squint his eyes to look over and found Golza sitting slowly against the wall.
He personally demonstrated to Saul what it meant to sit casually.
Golza seemed relaxed in the darkness, but Saul felt a hint of dissonance in him.
“Are you alright, Tower Master ……?”
“Fine, just thinking about all the things you’ve encountered. Trouble and accidents always seem to like to follow you around.”
A soft laugh came from the opposite side, and in such darkness, Saul couldn’t see the other party’s expression at all.
“Could it be that the Tower Master brought me here to keep me from observing his state?” Sol lowered his eyelids.
Golza continued, “Kismet will soon be forced to leave the Western Continent, you need not worry about that. As for the people who sneaked up on you outside the Black Fortress, nine times out of ten, they are landwalkers. They shouldn’t attack you without reason, that wouldn’t be cost-effective.”
He asked about the abnormality that Sol felt within the spirit body.
“Do you still feel anything wrong with the spirit body now?”
Saul frowned hard as he tried to recall while keeping an eye on the dying imprint within the spirit body, “There’s hardly any bad feeling right now, maybe it was just my illusion at the time.”
“Then let me see.” Though Golza said this, he had no intention of standing up.
Thor was puzzled when he suddenly vaguely saw something lunging at him from across the room.
But Golza was still sitting where he was.
