Chapter 282 Lies
Chapter 282 Lies
The wizards of the Kemah Duchy were vaguely polite to Saul, not knowing if they were in the way of the Witch Tower power behind him or for other reasons.
Because Yura lost her temper and locked herself in the single carriage, they invited Sol to temporarily enter their frame to rest.
But Saul was now only one step away from being a third level apprentice, and was completely unmotivated to entertain others.
“Thank you, but no, can you tell me what’s going on?”
As it turned out, Brie was a bit hesitant.
Just then, a bird song came from the sky, and almost everyone lifted their chins to the sky.
It didn’t take long for a huge dark brown hawk-like giant bird to fall from the sky.
Still hovering for a moment about ten meters from the ground. The man on the bird’s back didn’t come down, but poked his head out and said to Saul on the ground, “That guy ran away again. Do you know where he’ll go?”
Saul shook his head.
Kira bristled, “What’s Kismet, the killing star, doing running to the western continent? It’s really like a vulture that smells blood, it’s annoying!”
“So you know his name!” Saul spat in his mind, “Then why are you still calling someone Silver Hair? Kismet is probably going to be mad at you.”
She asked Sol again, “How did you end up with him?”
“After I escaped from the town ……”
“Bang!” The wagon door was pushed open again, hitting the frame hard.
“This is a matter for our Witch Tower, not for you, an outsider!” Mrs. Yura was still staying in that mannequin body.
Despite only being able to blink and move her mouth, and having a stiff facial expression, the chilling aura around her still allowed those around her to clearly feel her anger.
Only Kira in the room dared to confront her, “What dozen princesses from the Knuckles Union entered this town, and now there are no corpses left. Naturally, I’m going to find Sol and ask for clarification! Even if Golza is here she won’t say anything, jump around again and I’ll split your shell!”
Now Yura was so angry that the joints around her body were making horrible “creaking” sounds, but she really didn’t speak again.
The might of a second-order formal sorcerer was not something to be trifled with.
Saul hurriedly said what he encountered after entering the town, picking up what he could say.
The court sorcerers of the Kemah Duchy on the side also had chills when they heard it.
The Wizard Tower had actually lost a second level apprentice and two third level apprentices inside this time!
Luckily, they had waited until Archduke Kira came over to the town to pick them up.
If there were those who were in a hurry and rushed over last night, they were afraid that they would have to become a part of this blood-colored town.
But when they heard the end of it, they questioned what Saul had told them that wasn’t quite clear.
“Lord Saul, why would that little girl named Penny be willing to send you out when she tricked the others into death?” Court Wizard Brie opened her mouth to ask.
His expression was still respectful, but the skepticism in his tone was also very obvious.
Saul wasn’t angry, he knew that normal people would feel skeptical.
“For one thing, I’ve already seen that the so-called escape tunnel is actually a trap, she can’t fool me; for another, I made a deal with her in exchange for freedom.”
The other court sorcerer frowned in obvious disbelief and scowled, and just as he was about to speak he was interrupted again by Kira.
“Come on, he’s an apprentice taught by Gortha himself, what’s the point of you guys asking so many questions?”
The moment Golza’s name came out, the scene instantly quieted down.
This man was the top second-ranked sorcerer in the western continent. The most crucial thing was that he was also particularly unreasonable!
Not to mention hiding the truth, even if the entire town was slaughtered by Sol, who would dare say anything.
“The things you need to be concerned about are already clear. The other side’s princesses went in after Saul. Whether they were tricked into going in or sent to the door on their own, it doesn’t make much difference. They must be dead by now anyway. Tell the people from the Knuckles Duchy to get their asses back and tell their Grand Duke that if they want to stall for time, they shouldn’t send the princess in and send some real money. If they want someone to take it out on them, let them go to Kismet, a second level full wizard roaming around.”
Kira glanced at Saul again, and obviously knew that he was hiding something.
But whatever underhanded tactics Saul was using, or lying to hide his gains, it made no difference to Kira.
It had been clear from Golza’s attitude last time that he thought highly of Saul.
There was no need for Kira to make things difficult for Saul over an enemy princess. “I’m going back, you guys clean up this place and don’t let the pollution spread!” Kira finished speaking and gently patted the bird’s back.
The giant bird let out another long chirp and lifted its wings and flew away from Mill Sail Town.
The remaining people looked at Saul with some awe in their eyes.
It wasn’t Saul they were fearful of, but the Golza behind him.
The first Bri wizard who had spoken out was now standing across from Saul, uncomfortable as if there were countless bugs crawling on his body.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first as well.” Saul still kept his smile and said goodbye to the people of the Khema Duchy.
The atmosphere across the street instantly became much lighter, and those present could not wait to clap their hands and send off.
In order to ease the relationship, Sorcerer Bree offered to send a more luxurious carriage to Saul as a substitute.
But Saul refused.
Saul walked back to the carriage and looked at Mrs. Yura who still had unhappiness written all over her face, angry women were not to be messed with.
He put away all his aura and respectfully asked, “Vinnie, shall we go back now? I still want to explain the details of the town to you.”
Saul’s subtext: there are some things that can’t be told to others, but need to be explained to Yura.
The doll’s tense lips suddenly relaxed a lot, and she slightly tilted her head sideways, revealing two words from the crack of her lips, “Come up here!”
Before leaving, Saul entrusted the old madman to the Bree Witch.
It was thought that in order to ease the tension that had just arisen, Brie would definitely place the old lunatic properly.
Although he might not be able to cure his madness, he would definitely be clothed and fed for the rest of his life.
Although Saul was higher than Brie in terms of status, he was definitely inferior to the other in terms of handling worldly affairs.
He also specifically instructed Brie not to get anything fancy for the old madman, just let him live as peacefully as possible.
Wizard Brie received the old madman covered in woe from Saul’s mage’s hand, promising that he would definitely do what Saul told him to do.
As Saul turned to leave, he suddenly heard the old madman mutter a whisper.
“The butterfly …… flew away.”
Saul’s footsteps paused for a moment, and Penny’s tone flashed in his mind.
He closed his eyes and when he stepped again, his face had regained its composure.
The carriage then started, but not to return to the Wizard’s Tower.
They were going to the Black Fortress first, to deal with the legacy of Mochi Mochi.
Saul goes over Mooch Mooch’s and Angela’s deaths again to Yura in the wagon and highlights the fact that Billy may have a hard time escaping the town.
“Ma’am, did you see Billy escape outside of town?”
“Saw it.” Yura admitted outright, “It was because Wright and I happened to be near the gates when Billy came out that Wright was dragged into Mill Sail by Billy.”
So Wright was dragged to his death by Billy?
The people from the Duchy of Kemah had already checked and there were no survivors within the town. The blood and flesh contamination in the town was now confined within the walls, but if it wasn’t handled carefully, it would soon spread, and then it would set off a huge blood panic.
A curse that even a third level sorcerer apprentice couldn’t escape from, it wouldn’t be surprising to exterminate a large town.
So while Saul and the others were away, the people of the Khema Duchy were still busy.
“Did Billy escape then?”
“Ran away, after he dragged Wright as a scapegoat, he didn’t dare to see me either, and escaped on his own.” Yura fiddled with the ruffled hem of her doll maid’s skirt and said with disinterest, “Actually, I don’t care, everything that needs to be done with Wright is done anyway.”
Saul lowered his eyes.
Pulling someone as a scapegoat and escaping himself was something he had encountered before. If it wasn’t for the fact that he had been vigilant and had prepared a counter-kill beforehand, it was still unknown if he could sit in the carriage today!
The wizard world was basically like this, either pursuing knowledge or pursuing benefits.
Those who pursued knowledge could die for the sake of knowledge, and those who pursued benefits could let others die for the sake of benefits.
