Chapter 234 – Only Heart’s Locator
Chapter 234 – The Only Mind’s Locator
Kagome had never really lost in the confidence department.
While watching Korie dashingly disappear over the top of the ramp with a heavy metal mask on her face, Saul was slowly making his way down.
Speaking of which, compared to Korrie, he was considered to have seen the Tower Master often, but he didn’t seem to know as much about the Tower Master as Korrie did.
Mentor Guido was really good to Korie, not only teaching her knowledge, but also often chatting with her about gossip.
Before returning to the second storehouse, Sol decided to make a trip to the library first.
Ever since he opened the small map of the 19th floor tower owner’s private library, he rarely went to the public library.
The last time he went, he even bought a copy of Teach You to Hide in the Cracks from the administrator. However, because the other book, The Book of Emptiness, had been inexplicably thrown back onto the bookshelf by the tower owner who had suddenly appeared, it resulted in him not delving into the book, The Seam, just yet.
This time, Saul had solved his own minor troubles, and the Tower Master had not ordered any other tasks. After pondering the direction of his recent studies, he chose the latter between studying the Nightmare Butterfly and the Locator.
The ability and power of the Nightmare Butterfly was indeed desirable. But the danger it represented was also staggering.
Especially since Saul had just stabilized his spiritual body, he didn’t want to do any more dream world roaming for the time being.
In contrast, the locator was the main basis for his advancement.
There was a saying circulating within the Sorcerer’s Tower that an apprentice without a locator could not be considered a true second-order-Kori.
This was equivalent to the fact that in terms of grading by knowledge (the difficulty of sorcery knowledge differed between the 0th and 1st orders) and in terms of grading by strength (with or without a locator to protect the mental body), the general apprentices still recognized the latter more.
And although Saul hadn’t met a bottleneck in mastering higher level sorcery for the time being, he still had no clue about his locator.
Even though he had gotten two locator formulas and insights from Kong Sha, they still did not provide him with any practical help in selecting a locator.
So after he finally had some free time today, he decided to go to the library to take a good look at the theories on locator.
Upon arriving at the library, Saul saw a few young faces standing cautiously outside the door peering inside.
Needless to think, they must be new apprentices.
Only a newcomer would be so cautious even before stepping into the library’s front door, and fearful of the young janitor who stood inside the door with a smelly face.
Saul passed a few small children and walked straight into the library.
As soon as the young librarian saw Saul, he first froze, quickly scanning over his circumference, and then he actually showed some uneasiness.
“Good afternoon, may I ask if the library has any books on locator theory?” Saul remained polite, as if he wasn’t even aware of what had happened last time.
And the young administrator collected his jaw in a rare moment when facing Saul.
“The knowledge about locator is in the thirteenth row, fourth column.” He whispered.
Surprisingly, it was right in front of the row for evil spirits?
The library of the Sorcerer’s Tower wasn’t a place where you could just wander around looking for books, especially the shelves after the 8th row, you didn’t know what knowledge you’d see next, so almost all apprentices chose to consult the administrator first.
That’s probably why these administrators exist.
Saul came to the corresponding bookshelf and didn’t hold back another glance towards the 14th row, 4th column there.
At the bottom of the bookshelf there, there was still a person lying.
But this time, what was exposed was no longer Saul’s familiar arm.
“My fear has changed?” Saul stroked his chin, “Is it because the second witch body transformation has solved the problem of my spirit and flesh not fitting together?”
Saul had inexplicably traveled into a newly dead body and was able to get a second life, but this body wasn’t a 100% fit.
Thus causing Saul, who majored in the dark attribute, to perform worse than others in terms of spiritual-flesh fit.
The second witch body transformation, on the other hand, directly pinched Saul’s body into the shape of a soul. Although the appearance did not change, the grayish-white skin was made based on Saul’s spiritual power, which was considered to be a complete change of a more suitable outer skin for him.
The bookshelf where the books on evil spirits were stored generated a new illusion, also confirming Saul’s point, but according to its principle, what appeared this time should be Saul’s new fear. Still, he couldn’t help but stare when he saw the arm exposed on the outside of the bookshelf.
Surprisingly, his fear had changed from his former life to that of a little girl!
“Why did my fear turn into a little girl? It’s better to go over and take a look, as the saying goes, know your enemy and know yourself.”
Holding this thought, Saul slowly moved over to the fourteenth row of bookshelves, then tilted his head until it was parallel to the ground, and then bent down a little bit to check out what kind of person was lying on the lowest level.
The reason why he did this instead of just crouching down was so that in case he encountered danger, he could store up his strength to escape.
Soon, the person lying in the bookshelf revealed her appearance.
Short, light green hair lay softly on the log-colored bookshelf, with pointed ears peeking out, the very tips curling slightly in a somewhat listless manner.
Surprisingly, it was the same elf that Saul had seen in the illusion he experienced during his transformation?
Saul took two steps back in a hurry.
Until the bookshelf completely blocked the elf’s figure.
“Why did the elf appear again?” He rubbed his forehead and helplessly returned to the thirteenth row, “It seems that the last time I heard the tower master speak about elves, it still affected my perception.”
But it was better to be afraid of elves than to be afraid of oneself.
At the very least the former he could find a way to stay away from.
Putting his newfound fear aside for now, Saul gathered his thoughts and began to wander over to the thirteenth row of bookshelves.
Although all the books placed here were related to the locator, most of them were notes and conjectures. Not a single book with a specific locator formula could be seen.
After all, this was a public library, and the books and knowledge stored here were available for the public to read and learn.
It was impossible to take out something like the locator formula and share it at a low price.
Anyway, Saul’s goal wasn’t a specific formula, so he wouldn’t be as disappointed as the others.
His eyes scratched through the volumes of books of varying thicknesses and finally saw a seemingly valuable book in the corner.
Saul carefully pulled the book out of the overflowing shelf.
The book and cover read, “How to Choose the Right Locator for You – Barbara
Saul carefully flipped through the first few pages.
Only five vocabulary words were written on the title page of the book, and in the undead whisper language that Saul was deep into.
Know Thyself
Direction
Method
Achievement
Reflecting on the Self
“Kind of like self-analysis.” Saul continued to read.
Only the second page flew by in a not very neat font:
I have summarized the five stages of the selected locator based on what I have seen and known. The locator is based on everyone’s insight and understanding, and the more detailed the explanation, the more likely it is to lead one into the abyss. If you feel that your own thinking can fit into these five terms, you can take it back and continue to think out of the box. If you feel you can’t recognize it, then tear it up immediately, or better yet, forget it.
–Barbara
“Sure enough, everyone’s perceived locator is different. Knowledge of the locator is more like materialistic philosophy than the more mathematically logical runes and witchcraft. Thus making it a bit difficult for me, who is used to math and science, to grasp it.”
Sol closed the book and was ready to borrow this one. Although he only briefly glanced at the cover, Mo felt that the other party’s ideas suited him.
After selecting the book, he was ready to leave, so as not to stay for too long and have the white fog around him thicken and accidentally get lost in the depths of the library.
However, when he had just reached the aisle of twelve rows of bookshelves, he suddenly saw the youth who had originally guarded the entrance to the library standing in front of him.
Looking at that stance, he was waiting for him.
