Chapter 223: Gotta Add Money
The program to enhance the spiritual body through devouring was still just a guess.
Saul wouldn’t just have the idea and risk implementing it, even if he had the diary to back him up.
There were many more preparations to be made before an experiment could begin.
Now that he had chosen his topic, he still had to justify it, implement it, check it, and so on.
And all of these, still had to wait until he had completed further transformation of his sorcerer’s body and no longer had a sudden out-of-body experience.
Otherwise, the possibility of encountering unknown dangers was too great if he left his body once without moving.
Saul held back his inner excitement and finally remembered Haywood who was still waiting outside.
“Well, it’s not a good idea to leave someone out in the open for so long.”
He began to ponder how to get his soul out of his body on his own.
Because the Golzatha main level had warned him not to just soul out of his body, Saul had always been passively out of his body, and hadn’t yet researched how to leave his body on his own.
But he had a guess and thought it had a high degree of feasibility.
That was his meditation chart, the Erosion Chart.
The erosion chart is a closed loop.
At the top of the diagram is a man, walking halfway around the circle, evolving into an octopus-headed monster.
And the monster walks half a circle again and transforms back into a man.
If Thor’s soul is a monster to his body, and he can go from monster (spirit state) to man (body), can’t he also actively go from man to monster?
Saul consults the diary and gets no answer.
So he happily began the experiment.
Running meditation thoughts.
Follow the actions on the erosion chart, assuming you are a monster, to undo the disguise ……
“The assuming oneself to be a monster step is a bit difficult.” Saul rubbed his forehead, “I actually didn’t think about whether I was a monster or not when I returned to my body after my soul went out of my body, I simply wanted to go back in. Maybe I just need to try simply trying to get out now ……”
Saul started trying again.
Sure enough, it was much easier to maneuver after not having to change his perception.
After a few attempts, he slowly stood up from his spot and walked through a semicircle in six steps.
Saul opened his eyes and looked down at himself.
There were no longer white bony arms in his eyes, and turning back, he saw that his body had collapsed over the back of the chair.
“It worked!” Saul grinned, “This will at the very least get Haywood’s payment. We can also do some experiments against it later.”
Although the tower master warned him that out-of-body souls were dangerous, Saul couldn’t resist when faced with a method that had the potential to drastically increase his spiritual power.
What kind of sorcerer stays in a safe zone every day?
Besides, Saul still had his diary under his belt.
He calmed down his agitation, made himself look calmer, and by the way, changed his face back to the appearance of this life, before going out to meet Heywood at the door of the storehouse.
Just one more obstacle before going out was the corpses at the door, who were very welcoming and always trying to invite Saul in for a while.
Finally struggling to get to the door, Saul went straight through the depot door.
The gate didn’t have the same rules as the bronze gate that would be fatal, and Saul was more comfortable weaving through it.
Outside the door, Haywood was still standing in his original position, slightly drooping his eyes, a pair of blue and purple alien pupils somewhat dull.
After Saul appeared this time, he didn’t purposely reveal his figure like he did in front of George, but Heywood still found him in an instant.
When Haywood raised his head, his purple eyes were glowing slightly.
Although it wasn’t the first time he had seen Saul’s spirit body, he still felt new and surprised, and Heywood held back or couldn’t resist probing.
“The time it takes to get out of the body is several times longer than the time it takes to get into it. If you’ve done nothing else, then this is the first time you’ve actively tried to get your soul out of your body?” Saul acquiesced.
Haywood was surprisingly still sighing, “Succeeding in your first attempt at out-of-body and at such a fast speed means that you have fully grasped the principle of this soul leaving the body. It’s really enviable.”
“You don’t care about first aid for your sister anymore?”
Only then did Heywood curb his desire to probe and once again took out that black bottle.
He pressed his hand down on the seal and flicked it, the black sealing cloth dropping down to reveal half of the bottle.
A smell of damp and moldy basement immediately spread out.
“You can put your arm close enough to get the smell from the bottle, and it will last about ten minutes.”
Saul brought his right hand closer, and soon he saw a wispy mist wrapping around his arm.
This odor could actually wrap around a spirit body?
Saul almost couldn’t hold back his desire to explore as well, but the important thing right now was to get Heidi out of the sandwich first.
If he couldn’t fish it out or went late, then he might have to brush up against the knowledge of the Nightmare Butterfly, and even if he were to make the exchange with Haywood again, he would surely have to pay a greater price.
He shook his hand off, making sure the smoke was still firmly wrapped between his arms, before looking up to Haywood and saying, “Then I’ll go back and try it inside the vault.”
Heywood paused for a moment to ask, “Can’t you try it here? If anything happens, I can help you.”
Saul simply stated his excuse, ah no, reason.
“If Heidi really did disappear after pulling me into the mezzanine below the vault, then I think it would be easier to find it by entering the same way.”
This time Haywood thought for less than a second before nodding in agreement.
“If you don’t find her, you can also come out here and try again. The mezzanine isn’t a solid space after all, and it’s not unusual for spirits to create a flow. If you come out, I can also continue to figure out where Heidi is based on the scene you found.”
Saul smiled, “Multiple trips in and out of the mezzanine are an added cost.”
Haywood didn’t hesitate, “No problem.”
Saul walks inside through the warehouse door.
He didn’t lie to Heywood and returned to his single bed before slowly sinking.
It wasn’t quite clear what was going on in the mezzanine, and it was a bit of a carve up to do so, but it was better than running around with no purpose or direction.
Of course Saul kept an eye on the diary and stopped trying as soon as he came out to stop it.
This time, Saul, who had greater control over his spiritual body, smoothly sank underground into the mezzanine and once again came to that dark space full of eyes.
Like last time, he felt burning eyes just as he entered this space.
All the eyes of different sizes in the darkness looked at Saul in unison.
Enduring the burning pain on his body, Saul looked around. There were eyes everywhere, so dense that he was sweating, and after quickly scanning through the circle, he did not find Heidi’s ugly face.
So not daring to stay in his diary much longer, he ran out of reminders before surfacing out of the mezzanine.
“This mezzanine feels dangerous, and much more mysterious than the pipe containing the wax solution. Since Heidi got lost in it and didn’t run out, I’m afraid she’s also in trouble. If it’s really plunged too deep, there’s no way I can go deep enough to save her.”
For the sake of the Nightmare Butterfly’s secret, Saul was still willing to take another risk.
But before entering for the second time, he waited a little while, after all, Haywood relied on the odor to attract his sister, and it took time for the odor to spread.
After waiting for about two minutes, Saul entered again and found nothing, he rushed out of the mezzanine before the burning pain got stronger.
“One last try, if there’s still no luck then go out and get a raise from Heywood.”
Making his decision, Saul took a deep breath and once again entered the mezzanine the same way.
This time, as soon as he entered, he immediately saw an extremely terrifying human face rushing towards him.
“Bang!” Subconsciously Saul swung out his right fist.
He then remembered that it seemed to be Heidi’s face.
