“Let’s beat up that Bow Knight, shall we? How dare she bully Adele! That’s the only friend I’ve had since I was a kid.”

After Murphy and Adele returned to the Scarlet Fortress and encountered Femis in the Blood Wyvern Cloisters, Missy became quite upset at the sight of the moody Adele, and even took the initiative to make a rather unladylike suggestion.

As a result, she was glanced at by Murphy.

“Huh, I’d say you’re a bit quick with this personality change, Missy, you wouldn’t have said such a thing before.”

The vampire lord said in a subtle tone:
“I know I enlightened you before, but I don’t confirm whether this change in you is related to those words I ghosted, nor do I know whether this change is good or bad.”

“It has nothing to do with you!”

Femis grunted and said:
“It’s just that Venerable Lord Paying talked to me, and he told me that he knew everything there was to know about what I was trying to hide, and he didn’t care. Or that after Salokdar’s death, all those sinful descendants had perished with an eternal silence until no one cared.

His Holiness said that I represented a wonderful alternative to what might be in the future.

He told me to start my life anew and let my future blossom as fate would have it.

You know, once the biggest fear in your heart dissipates, then the mood always lightens up, and of course I recognize that your persuasion was quite effective.

If you look at life as a game played for the sake of fun, then trying a new way of life is a necessary choice.

So, Murph.”

Missy gripped the bladed whip at her waist and whispered:
“Let’s go beat her up and take it out on my friend.”

“Not that it wouldn’t work.”

Murphy was a bit impressed.

Of course aside from appeasing his heir and taking the heat off of her, Murphy was also eager to see for himself the combat prowess of the full-fledged members of the Blood League Knights, who had been rumored to be a godsend in the outside world.

But before the two earls could set out on their personal vendetta, or even find a sack that could ensnare the Silver Bow Knights they were powerfully silenced by the sudden appearance of the Blood Vulture Archduke.

“It’s useless, don’t go causing trouble.”

Tris’ voice rang out from the shadows.

The Blood Vulture Archduke held a glass of blood red wine with ice, ruffled his hair like a mature and seductive siren, and took a sip of the wine first like a lone woman before explaining in a lazy tone:

“All of the Cappadocia’s descendants are that look of owed, there is not an exception, even the Palying venerable lord also but that is not their voluntary! You guys have to understand that a normal person wouldn’t just blurt out hurtful words like that.

Leonia isn’t a fool either, she knows what happens when she offends us on our turf.

But she just couldn’t help it.

She’s a ‘Descendant of Pride’, savor that designation.

Elves were notoriously arrogant, and now with the ancient blood of arrogance from Lord Paying, it was hard for them to hide their disrespectful behavior towards others, and the Blood Knights would have won the crown if it weren’t for the unruly and insane wolfsbane thugs in front of them.

They can’t keep their mouths shut, and that’s been the least obnoxious flaw in their long, midnight lives.

I mean, if you’re going to work with the Blood Knights in the future, you’re going to have to learn to put up with their arrogance.”

“Is there such a thing?”

Murphy said with a frown:
“That’s not right, Lord Paranor wouldn’t be so overbearing.”

“Oh?”

Tris asked rhetorically, blinking and stretching her voice:
“That psychopath Paranor has been on our turf for two days and two nights, and let me ask you, have you ever seen him initiate a conversation with anyone other than you, me, and old Finok? That psychopath’s arrogance is through the roof, Murph.

You don’t notice it just because you’re just a beautiful thing in his eyes too, try growing ugly and see, anything that guy does will make you want to smack him.

Alas, you two are still too young and too shallow in your understanding of our race.

Cappadocia is always arrogant and rude, just like Le Sombra is always indulging in never-ending desires, just like Toreze is always trying to destroy the precious things in other people’s hands, just like Giovanni can’t help but loot all the beautiful things in the world.

And Goneril’s violent aggression is as much a part of Nosferatu’s never-ending rage as the poison of the world is.

Compared to our superficial Original Sin, the most mysterious and mystical of the Mycavians hide in the darkness and try to manipulate everything, trying to control everything in a pathological desire to control is even more unacceptable.

But you must understand!

This is the Bloods!
This is the norm for vampires in their obscure lives under midnight!
If you’re not going to be friends with a flawed vampire, then you’re going to be alone under midnight in no time.”

“Gee, but I feel like I’m fine.”

Murphy said, rubbing his chin:

“I lead such a self-disciplined life that I don’t have a distinctive quest for a particular desire . Except, of course, for a certain beauty who has taken up residence in my heart.”

This boastful statement made Tris roll her eyes as she said:

“You can’t say that until after you get your desire for domination and manipulation of your warriors out of your head, anyway, my point is, don’t be hostile to Laneia, she’s here hoping to be part of the answer, so don’t try to make her into a problem for you guys either.

And her venerable lord, Third Lord Yvette is quite a pain in the ass, that psycho Paranor is kind of good with people compared to her nutty hobbies.

In our current situation, it’s better not to mess with them.

And now that Phimis has returned, then perhaps the initial exploration of Count Siko’s territory, as you mentioned before, can be put on the agenda.

Phemis, you’ve met the old Count Sike before, right?”

“Well, father and I . Have seen him, more than once.”

Phimis replied:

“Count Sicor was a courageous and powerful leader of the Mountain Folk and Lord of the Winged Cavalry, and one of the commanders in chief of the military realm of the Confederacy of Portia. Sadly, he had died two years ago in the Pathfinder Legion’s invasion of the city of Sicor, and I had commanded the Midnight Hunters to aid them, but I was unable to save him and his family before the city broke.

Xike City is in ruins.

It is still shrouded in the psychic plague used by the Pathfinder Legion, and no one knows what lurks in those ruins, and a conservative estimate of the plague ghouls and worse plague skeleton armies that litter the ruins are just the tiniest of the troubles we have to face.”

“You’re the one of us most familiar with that side of the world, so with Murphy hoping to take control of all of Transylvania, it’s time for you to fulfill a bit of duty for your Governor and your family.”

Tris commanded as she took a sip of her wine:

“It’s up to you to take the new members of the current Blood Vulture Clan on a trip to Count Cecco’s domain and move any of the lords still to be found there into Count Cadman’s domain. By the way look for the last of the Winged Riders, Murphy wants to make contact with them.

With the threat of the Black Plague, it was also a necessary thing to get those powerful shock cavalrymen to return to the establishment.

Also, I can sense that there is still a portion of the Blood Wyvern renegades hiding just north of Transylvania.”

“Regarding those traitors, I have new information here that you will definitely be interested in.”

Murphy handed Missy the scroll of information that Mary’s unlucky group of people had revealed about the suspected “Lady Cecilia” presiding over the Blood Vulture Rebellion, and the latter took a glance at it in her hand, and her expression turned cold.

She said without hesitation:
“Leave it to me then, I won’t let the Grand Duke down, but I request Adele to assist me.”

“No problem, Mary’s group of newly descended people will also be given to you to command, put them through their paces and let them know what kind of traits they need to become a member of the New-Blood Wyverns, but my warriors will not be able to accompany you this time.”

Murphy said:
“They are immediately going to be put into the clearing of all the jackal banditry throughout the territory of Count Cadman, this is just the beginning, their goal is to decimate all the jackals in this great land before winter comes.”

“Well, that’s quite a heavy job.”

Femis sighed:

“Now that Cadman City has been destroyed, I’m afraid that there are more Jackals roaming this great land than even humans, not to mention the fact that they have a huge number of dog-headed followers.”

“Yeah, it’s a lot of pressure and a lot of work, good thing they have enough potential to get this done. Enough about that, come on, there’s someone I want to introduce to you.”

Murphy patted Femis’s shoulder and bid farewell to Tris again, then led Femis to the back of the Blood Wyvern Cloister, just in time to meet Count Andre who was sitting in the corner cooking tea and the servant Vesta who was standing by his side.

“Clan Thorn?”

Phimis said in surprise:
“Why do we have Yankees here?”

“Well, that’s a long story.” Murphy said, shaking his head:
“You can ask him yourself, the reality is that Earl Whitehill and his faction are staying with us until the Black Plague is over, and I’ve decided that I need to find something for him to do, so it’s up to him to act as your adjutant on this trip.

The government of the Andromeda Hills can also be left to him, the former royalty is gifted in that area, do you have any questions about that?”

“No, this guy looks quite melancholic, and his silence goes well with my style.”

Phimis responded:

“And the Thorn Clan’s silent sneaking and precise assassinations in the darkness of the night will also be helpful in this operation, but do you really trust him?”

“If I don’t do a good job for a while, the Earl of White Mountain will replace me as the Governor of Transylvania.”

Murphy blinked with a subtle smile and said:

“Of course, I trust him, beyond measure, just as I trust all my fellow Midnights, no more and no less.”

Femis easily savored the other layer of meaning in Murphy’s words as she nodded and said:

“Leave it to me then, he will unfortunately ‘suffer an accident’ if necessary.”

“Geez, you’ve really grown so much on this long trip.”

Murphy couldn’t help but exclaim:

“In the past, I always had to explain the meaning of my words to the simple you, but now, you are already a great lady who can reassure and bring a sense of security to your companions, it’s so nice! The day of the Blood Vulture Clan’s resurgence doesn’t seem too far away.

But before you travel farther north, I have a small favor to ask: Could you instruct me in the use of the blade whip?
There is something magical about this thing.
When I hold it, I feel an uncontrollable aggression.

Is that normal?”

“It means it likes you, just as the thing of fear in the hands of a slaver will always like to taste blood.”

Femis laughed very heartily as she said as a true vampire would, half-contained but meaning it:
“A good man can’t use a good whip, after all, the weapon has never symbolized anything good since its inception, and you, Lord Murphy, are a natural born midnight bad seed.”

“And yet you are an expert with a whip, so we are all in the same boat.”

Missy’s changed a lot.

The fact that she was starting over with a life that was truly her own made it seem as though she was beginning to transform and break away from the stereotypical family dogma-centered life, no longer a puppet on a string always granting true freedom to the soul, and Murphy was happy to see that change.

Essentially, he wasn’t a big fan of making friends with dull guys either.

After taking a moment to cut his teeth on bladed whip techniques and obtaining a copy of the Alien Weapons Compendium from Missy, written by Salokdar himself, Murphy strode out of the Blood Vulture Cloisters rubbing his healing neck and cheek that had been sliced open by the serpent-like bladed whip.

The vampire couldn’t help but feel in his heart under midnight that it was almost as if the whip had been given a soul in the hands of Phineas.

It was fierce and vicious, like a snake that craved blood.

Well, a blood maiden with a whip, cool!
The little players would probably have to go even crazier for the transformation of the three-less Fumis in the future.

Murphy unfolded his blood wings and lifted up lightly into the air, beginning this night’s tour of the territory, not in the old city or the forward campsite that would soon begin to be rebuilt, instead he left the confines of the Blood Wyvern’s cloisters and flew northward into the night sky.

He intended to visit the Barony of Lim.

Wanting to see for himself the several areas that would soon be chosen for collective farms under his order, which would be the new homes of the lords that had been displaced from the surrounding area.

To Murphy’s surprise, however, he sensed the familiar feeling floating in his mind halfway there, and gathered his wings to drop down towards the hills below, landing next to a chaotic jackal nest amidst the raven-like hissing of the blood-eating spirit vulture, Revernor.

He looked forward.

The “monster” under his command was leading his three silent heirs like a tiger into a flock of sheep, killing the large jackal bandit’s lair in front of him.

In the past, in Transylvania, vampires would only kill for food or revenge.

But the vampires of the Blood Vulture Clan stank a lot, priding themselves on their tradition of never taking a blood meal outside of humans, and of course, the fat rats kept in Tris’s manor didn’t count because Tris wasn’t exactly a typical Lexenbrae vampire.

It can therefore be judged that Maxim’s midnight hunt with his heir can only be for more practical reasons.

Murphy didn’t interrupt Maxim’s fight, but simply closed his eyes and switched his viewpoint to that of Revernor, who had flown quickly through the Barony of Lim in the middle of the night.

Through the Blood Eating Spirit Vulture’s rapid flight and reconnaissance, Murphy was surprised to find that there were no longer any traces of large jackaloid colonies within the range of the five villages that the entire Barony of Lim held, but a few days ago, this place was still full of jackaloid bandit camps, large and small, just like the rest of Transylvania.

This could only mean that without Murphy’s knowledge, Maxim had already begun to fulfill his duties as a baron, but unfortunately this was not what Murphy wanted to see.

A few minutes later, Maxim with a murderous aura came to Murphy’s side and he said:

“My lord, are you here to inspect the sites chosen for those farms? I’ve already instructed the mayor of Lim village, Berkeley, to bring the villagers under his command to clear out the neighborhood of the farms. A lot of trees have also been cut down, so as soon as the lords arrive they can start building.”

“I don’t doubt your ability to execute, but you do realize that as a baron you should be keeping the whole picture in check rather than running to hang these inconsequential jackals yourself, right?”

Murphy sighed:
“If you kill them all, then where are my warriors supposed to find their mission targets? You know, Miriam issues quests every day for warriors to bring back 10 pairs of jackal claws.”

“They can go farther.”

Maxim said rather indifferently as he slid the Jed’s Blade back into its scabbard:
“Transylvania is full of jackals, there’s no way to kill enough of these things, I just always feel the energy and desire to fight at night with nowhere to go, and with the Fight Club opening soon, there’s always a need for some elite monsters there to fill up the scene, and as you said, the warriors want to be challenged enough to get the job done.”

Behind him in the darkness of the night, three vampire scions of the Black Iron rank were leaving the corpse-strewn lair with four or five half-beaten-to-death elite jackals and dog-headed geomancers in their chained grasp.

Right.

This reason was indeed something Murphy hadn’t thought of.

Maxim, besides being Baron Lim and Commander of the Kadman People’s Army, he was also the operator of the Fight Club then.

Dangerous elite monsters would not be automatically refreshed in the arena, so Maxim, the “big boss”, could only personally bring his heir to capture them.

It’s true that behind every successful gameplay are NPCs who are carrying the load.

Gee, it’s really quite tragic.

“Isn’t it time for Fight Club to form a slave catching team?”

Murphy asked, while Maxim replied:

“Actually, I have a better idea, master, say, if I give your warriors the task of capturing elite monsters alive, and then throw the monsters they captured back into the gladiator arena as their enemies, and then make them pay for entrance tickets to challenge the monsters they captured with their own hands
Uh, that sounds a little weird.

But I think it’s doable, and as long as I can pay the warriors enough, they’re willing to do it. And judging from the last time Fight Club placed a bet, all I need to do is pay a little bit of gold or weapons and protective gear and I’ll get a high return.”

“Well, that’s good, a change in thinking like that proves that you are indeed growing, and that’s exactly what I’d like to see.”

Murphy nodded in satisfaction, but then he said:
“But after the collective farm is established, you probably won’t be so leisurely, I mean, you always have to fulfill your management functions as a lord.”

“But I am planning to appoint my knights.”

Maxim took off after Murphy with his wings spread out as he rightfully said:

“I’m about to appoint five knights who I feel can fulfill the duties of management in my place, and in the end I’m probably better suited to remain a warrior than a ruler. Like the alpha wolf under the Wolf King, always alert, always fierce, always hungry.

You need my strength far more than my lords need my wisdom.

After all, I am not known for my wisdom.”

“Whatever.”

Murphy didn’t bother to correct Maxim’s stolen concept, it seemed that this Monster Excellency was really not interested in management and making a fool of himself, so he changed the topic and said:

“The people from the Blood Alliance Knights have already arrived at the Scarlet Fortress, but their leader spoke out against your companion Adele, alas, you know, there are some things that are in the way, there’s no way for Firmis and I to do .”

“Understood, my lord.”

A leaping smile appeared beneath Maxim’s battle helmet as he whispered:
“Your war dog would like to share your worries.”

“But that is a mighty Silver Order Bow Knight, and you may need to fail many times before you can taste the wine of victory.”

“Well, isn’t that better? What is easily obtained has no value as a collection, you see, and I am infected by your warrior’s pickiness about rewards. But as you say, it is not a bad thing.”
