(For the “small empty empty have water to drink” brother to add more [1/5])
At this time has entered the night, a pair of wider than Murphy’s memory more dashing blood wings beat, the body is still small Missy is flying towards their own clan, brought up the wind blowing, and then a dashing, Blood Wyvern Clan unique “death airborne” style landing.

Her black hair seemed to be the same as when she left a few days ago, but Murphy noticed that she seemed to have grown a little taller.

From her own chest to her own shoulders, but still a pathetic little dwarf.

“You’ve grown taller?”

Mrs. Tris also asked in confusion, which proved that Murphy’s eyesight was very good and had not been blinded by the switch to “real-time strategy player”.

“Well, Lord Paying helped me trace back the power of my bloodline, and when I broke through the Silver rank, I let the blood of the sinful descendants purify again, in fact, it could have been a little bit higher, but I’ve already gotten used to this appearance, so I’ve kept it under control.”

Missy replied with the same calm look she had before.

But compared to the coldness that once rejected people, nowadays she had brought a lot of gentleness between her brows and eyes, more like the jumpiness that should be expected at her age, even though Onii-chan’s actual age was already 30 as well.

She glanced at Adele again and winked at her best friend before taking a deep breath and bending down to Tris and saying:

“Silver Order Psychic Master Phimis Cecilia Le Sombra, saluting and reporting for duty, Your Excellency the Archduke, please allow me to rejoin the family sequence.”

“Of course, Countess Andromeda, Transylvania will always be your homeland, and we are in need of your strength right now in the midst of all the chaos.”

Tris said in a very classy and dignified manner as she played with the luxurious Serenade cane in her hand.

After Salokdar’s death, her resentment towards the past had dissipated, and she was finally able to calmly talk to the girl in front of her who had a complicated life with true feelings.

“Hail to you, Countess.”

Murphy also bent down to salute and said:

“Reconstruction has already begun in Count Cadman’s territory, considering the threat of the Black Plague, so the reconstruction of your territory may have to be delayed for a while.”

“I don’t really care, Murphy.”

Femis shook his head:

“The Andromeda Hills have never been a prosperous place, in fact all of Transylvania has been, people from other places call us poor here, and the saddest part is that we can’t even find a defense for our homeland
It really is a terrible place to live.

And now, the ravages of ten years of war have made it no different than a barren land, besides I’m not very good at managing or leading, a title would suffice, so let’s just continue with you, the Governor of Transylvania, acting for my domain.”

As soon as Phimis’ words fell, Murphy’s lord system dinged and refreshed with the message:

[New proxy territory ‘Count Andromeda’s Territory’ has been added, please inspect the territory as soon as possible in order to include specific information on the territory’s people. Transylvania region dominion management rights updated to: 2/3, the northern part of the region, Count Sike’s territory has not yet been explored].

“Ugh.”

Murphy sighed in his heart.

It was a good thing to get the new territory that was being held in trust, but he was lacking in manpower on hand right now, not only was there not enough small players, there were not even enough administrators that could be entrusted with the duties as well.

Miriam had already written letters to her contemporaries, intending to send them to Chardonnay Harbor through the channels of the Carpe family to recruit as many professionals as possible to come and serve, and Professor Malcolm had promised to invite some of his students and friends over as well.

But with the “good name” of Transylvania.
To be honest, even with the generous offer of knighthood and power as a reward, Murphy did not hold much hope.

Although it is said that poker is a kind of wisdom, there is also an old saying that it is better to be the head of a chicken than the back of a cow, but considering that the otherworldly people do not understand the Chinese language, it is hard to say that there are no big-picture warriors among the students of the administrative department of the University of Artisans of Chardonnay who are willing to risk being wiped out by the black plague to come to Transylvania to join Murphy in the “great achievement”.

“Don’t look so glum, Murphy, I’ve brought the assistance of His Holiness Pa’ying and the Blood League Clan.”

Missy seemed to have guessed Murphy’s worries, she smiled and pointed to the caravan behind her, the whole ten cars were loaded with all kinds of supplies from the Blood League Knights, as well as a part of fine armor and weapons, as well as dwarven firearms and all kinds of alchemy materials.

The most exaggerated thing was that the last two vehicles housed some small machine tools.

Those were things that were used to make some precision tools, and there was also a small bullet processing machine among them, which was specially allocated by Venerable Lord Paying from the Blood League Knights’ logistical supplies.

It wouldn’t necessarily be of any great use, but it was really a blessing in disguise for the current Transylvania! This alone was enough to make Murphy grateful to that Venerable Lord Paying, whom he had yet to meet.

And in addition to the supplies, there were also the 30 Blood Alliance Knights who arrived with the caravan as well as 60 armed Blood Servants, to be precise, the reserve Blood Knights who were undergoing the Knight’s Examination along with their escorts.

Within the Blood League Knights, there was no such thing as a “blood servant”, although in the eyes of the other blood races, there was basically no big difference between an armed blood servant and a blood escort.

These knights were sent to support the construction and restoration of order in Transylvania, a water of black iron rank elite monsters, led by a silver rank scout knight, those knights and their escorts are also black iron rank human warriors, Murphy can’t see the characteristic flattery and weakness of other blood servants in their eyes.

This was enough to prove that Venerable Lord Paying was indeed very skillful in leading troops, and he must have armed the hearts of these humans who obeyed the vampires with some kind of noble ideals and hopes.

“Hail to you, Archduke Blood Vulture.”

The scout knight on the scarlet warhorse dismounted and stepped forward to give a knightly salute to Tris, then removed his helmet to reveal his long chestnut-colored hair.

Yo, it’s still a tall and slender vampire girl, the cesium berylliums in the play house must like it, but this overly slender torso and those trademark pointed ears, as well as the delicate face that is not the same as a human’s all represent that
This is an elf vampire?
Gee, or a Salayn? What a rare breed!

Murphy blinked.

The Lady Adele beside him even directly gripped the hilt of the sword at her waist, and it was clear that as a half-elf, she was hostile to all elves.

This small action didn’t hide from this scout knight carrying a blood-colored war bow, but she didn’t care and just reported to Lady Tris with a solemn expression:

“Scouting Vanguard Captain Lainnia Garanod Cappadocia, under the command of Yvette Lilliard Cappadocia, Third Lord of the Knights of the Blood League ‘Arrow of Punishment’, reports to you! By order of His Holiness Lord Paying and Lady Yvette, I, along with thirty reserve knights and their squires under my command, will be on duty in Transylvania!

Helping the Blood Vulture Clan restore order to their rule and territory, as well as helping you train new recruits and organize your defenses until the end of the Black Plague.

During this time, we will be under your control and that of the Lords of Transylvania.”

“Very well, Captain, I thank you for coming and offer my sincerest thanks to Venerable Lord Paying and Little Miss Yvette.”

Tris responded appropriately, but then she stared at the tall and remarkably handsome bow rider with chestnut waist-length hair in front of her and said in a curious tone:
“Your last name was once ‘Garland Nord’? So, you come from the Moon Elf royal family?”

“The past no longer means anything to me, Archduke Tris, from the moment I joined the Knights of the Blood League one hundred and ten years ago, I have only been a descendant of Cappadocia.”

The elven vampire bow rider in front of her stopped Tris’s inquiries with a standard arrogant Descendant-esque reply, though she did glance at Lady Adele beside Murphy with those amber eyes dotted with scarlet as she resumed donning the Blood League Knights’ standard Nightbat battle helmet.

An elvish grunt was uttered before she mounted her horse and returned to the caravan in a military stance.

But several of the vampires here were “learned men”! Even the most uneducated Murphy had a language interpreter from the test administrator, and they all understood the meaning of the elvish phrase from Leonia.

“Bastard from the shadows…”

The words broke Adele’s great defense.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Murphy, an honorable elder, was right beside her, she was afraid that she would have drawn her sword and gone up to fight for her life on the spot.

“You guys go first, we’ll follow later.”

Murphy spoke to Tris and Phineas.

Missy was a bit worried, but returned to the caravan at Tris’s eye indication.

Adele was a descendant of Murphy, and this was a conversation between their honored elders and their heirs, and even though Missy had come to view Lady Adele as a sister she had grown up with at this point, she was in no position to get involved until Murphy was done talking.

The ancient rules of the vampire clan were just so many, just like the old lady’s shroud, annoying inside! It was no wonder that the Wolfsbane Clan no longer recognized these broken rules.

Seeing the caravan moving towards the Scarlet Castle, at the edge of the Baroness of Darkness’ territory, Murphy waved his hand in the darkness, letting the Blood Eating Spirit Vulture that had been flying high in the sky to continue scouting around.

Afterwards, he twisted his head to look back at Lady Adele who lowered her head and did not say a word.

He said:

“I’ve always heard that the relationship between the Shadow Elves and the other three clans of elves is very poor, today’s sight is really extraordinary, how is it that the hatred between you four clans of elves is even more complicated than that between the vampire clans that are the best at infighting?”

“I am not an elf! Master, I never wanted to be an elf.”

It was probably because the emotions in her heart were more agitated, making Mrs. Adele’s tone at this point in time not as submissive as in previous days.

She exasperatedly stared at the territory in front of her that nominally already belonged to her, because the violent emotional fluctuations made that amazingly sized chest rise and fall up and down, and after several seconds of silence, she let out a long sigh, pointed in the direction of the dark mountain range in front of her, and said to Murphy:

“Fifty years ago, my mom set off from here into the Dark Mountain Range. She came from the city of Xicao, and was said to be the daughter of a baron, but she grew up with a taste for adventure, and joined the halflings’ explorer’s society with excellent grades when she was an adult.

It wasn’t the first time she had traveled to the Dark Mountains, but her original mission wasn’t to the Eternal Rift, where the Shadow Elves were located, either.

Her mission that time was simply to help the Tower of the Ring collect some samples of psionic energy from the outskirts of the Dark Mountains, but accidents happened quickly, and while observing a rare tribe of goatmen, she encountered a slave-trapping party from the shadow elf family of Merjewa.

She could have escaped. But her incorrigible explorer personality landed her in a completely desperate situation.

She was brought back to the Eternal Rift, where she thought she could have used her eloquence to finish a conversation with the Shadow Elves’ main mother, but the barbaric Shadow Elves didn’t even give her that chance, and threw her straight into the Colosseum.

It was only then that she realized what a foolish mistake she had made.

If my father hadn’t been helping her, she wouldn’t have even survived her first year before dying from all kinds of torture!”

Lady Adele had never told anyone else about her exact origins, not even Miss Phineas, but this night, having her defenses broken by a “fellow elf”, coupled with the fact that her trusted elder was right next to her, allowed Lady Adele to finally reveal those past traumas inside her heart that she had always been reluctant to talk about.

Murphy did not ask or interrupt, he just listened patiently.

He knew that what Adele needed now was also just to listen.

“My father was a slave as well, and his appearance in that cursed land was not unlike my foolish mother’s experience, but he was a half-elf, in the truest sense of the word. His mother, my grandmother, was a Winterwolf Legion Huntress who had the misfortune of falling into the hands of the Shadow Elves during the Fourth Black Plague, and had my father after a certain barren abuse.

My father was born in a colosseum, and three months after his birth, my grandmother died in a fight with the beasts of the Dark Regions.

My father was fortunate to have inherited human intelligence and elven dexterity and was adopted by a warrior captain of the House of Megawa, where he lived as a slave until he became a powerful fighter.

By the time my mother was thrown into the Colosseum, he was already the King of the Fighters of House Megawa.

His fame even spread throughout the Thirteen Clans of the Shadow Elves of the Rift of Eternity, and the hated elves called him ‘Hydra’ to describe his mastery of martial arts.

I don’t know why my father sheltered my mother, perhaps it was lust or love? But the price was that the Shadow Elves cruelly demanded that he must shoulder the burden of two gladiators.

My father agreed, which was no hardship for his skill and martial prowess.

And so it was that my mother survived ten whole years in the city of Medjevar under my father’s patronage; she went there as a foolish twenty-three year old explorer, but ten years later she had become a still naïve great fool.

I hated her stupidity!
Not just because she put herself in danger, but because my father ended up losing his life because of her as well.

Unlike my father, who had become accustomed to the Eternity Rift and considered it home, my mother had been trying to escape, using my father’s prestige among the slave gladiators to form secretive groups.

My father did not approve of her adventures, but my mother continued to do as she pleased.

The cunning woman took advantage of her father’s love for her, and she compelled him to accomplish her goals, and when the matriarch of House Eichne came to visit one day, it was the Shadow Elf’s rule to convene a gladiator tournament between the two clans to dedicate it to the honored guest.

My mother thought she had seized the opportunity.

She asked my father to create chaos in the gladiatorial arena and use the opening of the family citadel on that day to lead the slaves to escape from the Eternal Rift.

But my father knew her plan would never work!
She underestimated the prophecies of the Fate Weaver Maiden of the House of Mejva about the future, and perhaps it was all in the hands of the cruel Elfmistress, and perhaps it was all just a cruel play about freedom and escape that the Mejva Mistress had offered to the Aeschine Mistress as well.

That is the favorite thing of the Shadow Elves, to cruelly implant in their slaves the illusion of ‘freedom’ and then mercilessly extinguish it later, as a way of watching the pain of their slaves as their minds break down and taking pleasure in it.”

Lady Adele’s tone lowered, and was husky and sad.

Knowing that this story was about to take a turn for the worse, Murphy reached out and placed a hand on his heir’s shoulder and whispered:
“But your mother succeeded, I’m guessing because your father made an unexpected sacrifice?”

“I don’t know.”

Adele said softly:

“No one told me about my father’s final end, but the truth is, as you say, the escape went exceptionally well that day, and my mother, who had just given birth to me less than two months earlier, led the unwillingly compliant slave gladiators out of the city of Medjevar.

But that was no gift of fate.

When my father said goodbye to her, he told her to wait for him at the entrance to the Eternal Rift for three days, and that if he did not appear it would mean that he had returned to the obscure halls of Avalon.

My mother waited seven days.
She waited neither for my father nor for the pursuers of the House of Megawa, and it was then that she realized the price she had paid for her freedom, that the man who loved her the most in the world had given everything he could for her foolish thoughts.

There was no way out for her.

All she could do was take the slave gladiators and try to return to the place of her birth.

What happened in the midst of this I do not know, but instead of crossing the Tainted Swamp, the mother eventually found the hidden valley I told you about in the Barren Mountains, and led the gladiators who looked to her as a leader to survive there.

They were all half-elves, poor souls denounced as ‘bastards’ unaccepted by both races, and we had to hug it out there.

But when I was ten years old, a pack of starving jackals and ogres attacked our valley, and my mother was killed in battle trying to fend off the invasion, by which time she had gone from being a professional explorer to a sincere believer in Avalon.

I escaped in the midst of that chaos and was escorted through the Tainted Swamp by Uncle Bella and Aunt Bernice, my mother’s close friends.

Their intention was to return me to the city of Sycor to my grandfather and grandmother as per my mother’s wishes, but there were terrible things in the Filthy Swamp my uncle and aunt buried their bones there as well to protect me, and I had to stumble back to Transylvania alone.

The people of the border villages did not accept me, they saw me as ominous.

I was tired and hungry and beaten half to death for stealing and if I hadn’t met Missy I would have died there .”

“But you did not return to Xike City.”

Murphy said:
“You don’t seem willing to obey your mother?”

“Why would I obey?”

The ever-meek Adele asked rhetorically in this rare moment:
“Is there any merit in my mother’s life that would warrant my obeying her? All her tragedies stemmed from her naivety and folly! The only redeeming quality was her pursuit of freedom, but look at what she gave up for that which she threw away and tried to recover with her own hands!
I have more respect for the father I never met than for her.

I’m sure it wasn’t just his love for my mother that led him to his death that day, but I’m more inclined to believe that my father, who never intended to leave the Rift of Eternity, died for me.

That man didn’t want me, didn’t want his daughter to live the same life he did!

As for a family that could have taught a fool like my mother, what appeal is there for me?
I’d rather follow Onii-chan and become her servant.

Of course I visited the city of Sikor once when it was destroyed by the plague, but as I expected, that family had long since faded into history, their family crest disappearing before the outbreak of the Ten Years’ War.

By now my last connection to my mother had dissipated as well, and that made me feel doubly relieved.

I am Adele, Master.

My name is Bella Bernice Adele!

My name comes from my father’s ultimate parting gift and blessing, and from two elders who gave their lives to protect me, both of whom are elders worthy of my respect.

But there is nothing in it that should be associated with my mother.

I loathed her.

I don’t want to be like her who only drags others down, that’s all.”

Silence fell in the darkness.

After a few seconds, Murphy took out a handkerchief and handed it to Adele, whispering:

“If it wasn’t for the fact that vampires don’t shed tears, I’m afraid you’d have cried out by now, the world obviously doesn’t treat us all gently enough, so pretend to wipe the tears that are coming out of your soul due to the grief of pain. Would you like Missy and I to help you beat up that arrogant bow rider? We’d be happy to do so.”

“No, I’m not having such a hard time because she called me a bastard.”

Lady Adele bristled.

She gripped her handkerchief and whispered:

“I just suddenly remembered the past, I am a quarter-blooded half-elf, neither human, nor Darkborn, nor belonging to the forest, and now I don’t even belong to the world under the sun anymore.

My identity is too complicated.

I don’t even know how to plan me into the system of this world.

Lord Murphy, do you feel this way?

It’s like being abandoned by the world.”

“Yes.”

Murphy said with his hands behind his back, looking at the night sky in the distance:

“That feeling’s called vampirism . An eternally sinful descendant who will never be accepted, ah, but I took on the malice from the world without even knowing what sin we committed. Who else in this world could be worse than us?”
