Chapter 261 – The Church Ark
Chapter 261 – Church Ark
The three church leaders in the vast, dimly lit assembly hall fell into silence at the same time.
After an unknown amount of time, the Servant of the God of Death, Pope Banister, suddenly spoke softly, “The Law of Anomalies and Anomalies Out of Alignment – there will always be anomalies or anomalies that do not conform to the law.”
“Rule Zero does work well, but Rule Zero can’t be used casually,” the short, fat and amiable Loon but shook his head, “You can’t just apply Rule Zero whenever you come across something that is difficult to understand, it will make us paralyzed and miss out on the real crisis hidden dangers when they appear. ”
“You mean there’s something wrong with the information given by …… Vision 004?” Banister turned his head slightly sideways, “It’s not that Vision-Planet doesn’t have a number, but that the number is hidden?”
“It could also be a completely new naming mechanism,” Loon said in thought, “There’s nothing wrong with either Vision 004 or Vision-Prande, it’s just that we can’t understand this new way of naming the visions yet-Prande recently What’s happened is very special, it’s a city-state tainted by history and ‘saved’ by the forces of subspace, something like this has never happened before ……”
“I don’t like ‘new mechanisms’,” Banister shook his head, his voice low, “new mechanisms mean new uncontrollable factors, we’ve already sacrificed too much to figure out how the world works …… and the world is still always changing.”
“No one likes it, but the world has always been this unsympathetic,” Lune shrugged, and immediately afterward his gaze fell on Helena, “I hope you’ll be able to get something out of your time in Prenland, and see for yourself, with your own eyes, what’s really going on in that city-state.”
Helena didn’t say anything for a while, she just nodded lightly, she seemed to be in deep thought, after a long time, she suddenly broke the silence, “There is another thing, you should have noticed it as well, the problem of Vision 001.”
Lune’s expression became serious, this old man who served the God of Wisdom rarely had such a tense moment, “Yes, the Sunwatch Tower has already determined that the runic ring …… at the edge of the sun has indeed broken, although the missing part only accounts for a very small piece of the entire runic structure, that piece is indeed no anymore. I am still sending people to keep an eye on Vision 001 at all times, but for the time being, no further breakage of the Rune Ring has been detected – but there is no sign of it repairing itself either.”
“No movement has been detected from the Sun Religionists anywhere,” Banister followed suit, “I also suspected at first that it had something to do with them, but from the information I have so far, it seems that none of the Sun Heretics themselves have noticed the changes in Vision 001 yet. ”
“That doesn’t determine that this matter has nothing to do with the ‘Creeping Sun Wheel’,” Helena said in a deep voice, “The Creeping Sun Wheel is one of the oldest existences in this world, and that gang of Solar Heretics can only be considered to be under the influence of the Creeping Sun Wheel at best. moldy spots that have grown, and they are not as closely connected to their own gods as they think they are.”
“We’ll keep our eyes on that band of cultists and the ‘children of the sun’ behind them,” Banister said slowly, “as well as that band of end-of-life preachers . . no matter what, what happened in Prand cannot be repeated.”
Helena nodded slightly, then she saw light floating in the darkness as the figures of the two popes faded and dissipated into nothingness.
She turned back and glanced at the place where the tomb of the Nameless King sank, and then her figure gradually dissipated in the assembly grounds as well.
In the next second, Helena opened her eyes in the reality dimension.
She stepped out of the chamber, and two attendants followed – Helena waved her hand, signaling the attendants to leave on their own, while she walked alone through the long tunnel towards the upper deck of the church ship.
A looming cathedral sailed across the pale, dim waters, its triple spire and a towering steeple and bell tower pointing straight up to the sky, its top submerged in ethereal mist, while the lower half of the cathedral ship was thickly armored, with massive piping and rugged mechanical structures connecting the deck areas.
An ark, the lower half of which was a steel fortress, the upper half of which was a holy church – this was the true headquarters of the Church of the Deep, the “Storm Cathedral” that cruised on the infinite sea.
Helena stepped out of the corridor, which was covered with sacred bas-reliefs, onto the terrace of the upper deck, and quietly looked down on the towering engineering wonder at her feet.
The cathedral was quite new, in fact, its hull had been completed only thirty-five years ago, and its superstructure had only been completely built twenty years ago – the scholars of the Truth Academy had helped design the cathedral’s massive power systems and complex controls, and so far, at least, they were all functioning very well.
Before the completion of the cathedral, the Storm Cathedral was much smaller than it is today, and had a much shorter range on the endless seas.
The Storm Goddess didn’t mind that her followers had borrowed pagan help to build their temple, none of the four gods did.
In fact …… the four gods don’t mind at all what happens on earth.
Helena inhaled softly and looked at the thin mist surrounding the church ship – this layer of mist as well as the chaotic dark texture of the surrounding sea water indicated that the entire ark was currently sailing in the middle of the gap between reality and the spirit world, and in this position, the vast majority of ordinary ships sailing on the infinite sea would not be able to observe the Storm Cathedral.
After quietly blowing the cold wind for a while, Helena reached out her hand and took out from her side a piece of wood that had been meticulously carved by hand into the form of an ocean wave. She chanted the name of the storm goddess, Gemona, and threw the amulet of the waves, carved out of the wood of the Sea Breath, far out to sea.
“The faith of the saint you are concerned about has begun to waver,” Helena whispered as if to herself as she gazed in the direction of the talisman’s fall, “but the human part of her seems to be intact – she is still human. ”
The waves gently undulate, seemingly invisible whispers softly resonate in the sound of the waves, Helena listens with her side ear for a long time, and gently nods, “Is that good? …… Yes, I understand.”
The sea-breathing wooden talisman that had been rolling and undulating on the surface of the water for a long time rolled and silently sank into the infinite sea.
Prand, inside the antique store.
The morning sunlight was just right, the bright sunlight shone through the freshly wiped window, shining on those high and low staggered shelves, making the fake antiques on the shelves as if they were all gilded with a layer of faint golden light, Nina was humming a light and happy tune, happily wiping the “commodities” on the shelves, and occasionally poking her head out to look at a few figures beside the counter. Figures.
Alice and Shirley were sitting there, holding a stack of alphabet cards and frowning, while Dog was hiding in the shadows by the counter, trying to mime the word list with a pencil in his paw.
Nina thought this was amazing – she hadn’t figured out how Dog was able to grab the pencil with his paw until now.
After nearly falling asleep for the third time, Shirley made a big yawn, set the alphabet card in her hand down on the counter, and looked up at Alice, who was paying full attention next to her, “Aren’t you ever sleepy?”
“Not sleepy,” Alice answered honestly, looking up, “I don’t know what ‘sleepy’ feels like – I only sleep when I’m supposed to be sleep.”
“…… really curious what it’s like to be a doll with a soul,” Shirley cooed, followed by a careful survey of the surroundings, and a glance up in the direction of the second floor as if she were a thief, before she whispered “Hey, how come Mr. Duncan didn’t come down today ah …… And it also felt like he was preoccupied when I saw him this morning.”
Alice put aside the letter card she had just memorized, and picked up another one she had just forgotten cleanly to start memorizing again, while saying casually and absent-mindedly, “He was thinking about the secrets of the deep sea.”
“Pondering the secrets of the deep?” Sherry froze, “What do you mean?”
“I don’t know, he said so,” Alice gave a small shake of her head, “Why don’t you ask him? He should be happy to teach you something ……”
Sherry opened her mouth and was just about to say something when she suddenly heard Dog’s panicked and frightened voice from the shadows by the counter, “If you’re going to die, don’t take me with you!”
“I didn’t say I was going to ask,” Shirley glared in the direction the voice came from, “I’ve got the alphabet all still ……”
She had barely gotten halfway through her sentence when she suddenly heard a crisp brass bell ring from the direction of the doorway.
Dog instantly and completely faded away, while Alice gingerly set her alphabet card to the side and looked up in the direction of the front door, “Welcome, please …… hey? Mr. Morris?”
After entering the door, he first greeted Alice and Shirley at the counter, and then looked at Nina who was packing up the shelves next to him “Is Mr. Duncan here?”
“He’s upstairs,” Nina nodded, looking at the older gentleman curiously, “What do you want with him?”
“I seem to have found the provenance of that symbol,” Maurice raised the old book he had brought with him happily, “It’s amazing that it appears in a document about the ancient kingdom of Crete – and so inconspicuous!”
