Chapter 172 – Tickling Meat

Chapter 172: Tickling Meat

I was most afraid that the air would suddenly be quiet for a long time.

Seeing Kong Sha stay silent, Saul was a bit anxious, his eyes were still wrapped in gauze.

“It seems that my worries are redundant, so …… “Kong Sha suddenly didn’t dare to give Saul advice, she changed to a euphemism, “If you’re interested in a program to strengthen your spiritual power, I can take you to a place. You’ll definitely be able to find a suitable locator there.”

“Locator …… “Although Saul already had a diary, he currently had no head start on turning it into his own locator.

It would be nice to borrow from other locator programs, he could expand his mind.

“Elder Kong Sha, the locator isn’t that easy to find, right? Isn’t the place you mentioned particularly dangerous?”

“Yes! But it is only in dangerous places that powerful locators can appear. Saul, you are indeed …… very good right now, but if you want to continue on the path of a sorcerer, you can’t be satisfied with your current achievements. Sometimes, you just want to stop and rest your feet, and when you set off again, you will realize that you will never catch up.”

The eyeballs in Kongsa’s skull retracted one by one, as if they felt her gloomy mood.

“Could this be Kongsa’s true experience?” Sol mused, “I’m sorry, I still need to think about it.”

Despite his heartbeat, Saul did not immediately agree.

Kong Sha’s shoulders sunk slightly, “I can give you the locator program first. This program can be sold to others at a high price even if you can’t use it. For second level apprentices, the locator has always been the rarest.”

The work of the second storehouse was really blazing hot, and before Saul’s butt was even warmed up, he was already being watched by so many people.

Now Ferguson explicitly wanted the candles, and Konza wanted the Elven Whisper numbered 117.

The first thing that Saul had heard from Kukin was something seemingly useless but actually very valuable. If Saul took this item out, he would have a handle on them and thus be blackmailed by Kukin and the others with it.

The second thing was an elven item that Senior Byron had once warned Saul not to touch until level three.

In fact, Saul was wondering why elf-related items were a taboo when there was clearly an elven language in their sorcery texts.
However, at that time, Saul was still too weak to have the energy or qualifications to explore why.

This time, he did have the opportunity to find out. But until he was sure, he would never bring elf-related items on his body like Kongsa and Sid.

The elf dolls that could make sorcerer apprentices not dare to move their spiritual power just by holding them in their hands really made Saul curious.

Wasn’t this a killing weapon properly aimed at sorcerers?

“Tell you what, Elder Kongsha, within ten days, if I’m ready, I’ll go to the dormitory to find you at the previously agreed upon time.”

Saul wasn’t dismissing Kong Sha, if he didn’t want to cooperate, he wouldn’t set the time that long, but rather let the other party die as soon as possible and not hold on to hope.

At five minutes past three, Saul finally returned to the second storage room.

He first went to look at the summoning pen and realized that there were no missions again today.

Then he turned back through the corpses and went under the wall to confirm the number of candle lights that were lit.

91.

The number was a little dangerous, and Saul hastened to add it to a hundred or more.

He waited for a while with the lighter held up, and none of the candle lights suddenly went out.

Saul nodded with satisfaction, “No wonder Kukin said that the second storehouse is the safest place, this mission is well accomplished!”

The next second the hard-working lamplighter Saul put away the electric lamplighter in his hand, moved a large box and moved it to a candle lamp that hadn’t been lit yet.

With a beaker in his left hand and a small knife squeezed in his right, he climbed into the box.

Standing on the crate, Saul’s line of sight was as high as the candlelight.

He used the knife to cut a small piece of the candle directly into the beaker that followed underneath the candlestick.

Saul crouched down and placed the knife and beaker at his feet, resumed standing and pulled out his lighter to try and light the candle.

There were no surprises, the candle lit, it was just a hair shorter than any of the other candlesticks in the candlestick.

Saul looked back around the entire storehouse. The candles in all the candlesticks in the storehouse were all the same height.

Only the candle he had cut off was shorter.

“The candle lamps in the Wizard’s Tower are always bright, never extinguished, and the candles inside are not seen to be replaced. Why is the height but the same? It’s as if a machine had measured it precisely.”

Saul jumped down from the crate, grabbed the beaker and short knife and returned to the long table.

“I used to think that one of the servants or apprentices would specialize in changing the candles. But only the Tower Master and I have free access to the second storage room, no one else can get in, so this should still be an effect of sorcery.”

Thinking of this, Saul suddenly put down the beaker and ran back to the large chest with his short sword raised.

He pushed the large crate under a lampstand that had been damaged and had no candles on it. Climbing up again, he used his short knife to forcefully pry the candlestick off the wall. The base of the sconce was securely fastened to the wall by six long iron nails, and even with the strength of Thor’s arms, it took a great deal of effort to pull one out.

The iron nails that were detached from the wall fell out of the sconce base under inertia and clanked to the floor.

Thor transferred both the knife and the candlestick to his left hand, while pressing his right hand against the wall, and leaned over to peer into the hollow exposed under the candlestick.

In the wall beneath the base was a small hole about a centimeter in diameter, dark and devoid of detail.

Saul gently moved the fingertips of his right hand near the hole.

“Light spell.”

The warm-colored ball of sorcerous light slightly illuminated the interior of the small hole.

Instead of rough dirt walls or smooth metal pipes, the small hole was something wrinkled and fleshy looking – sort of like blood vessels or intestines.

At the bottom of the veins, there was a thin layer of dried white substance.

Saul immediately turned his head sideways and looked at his left hand.

At the bottom of the long-damaged candlestick he held in his hand, there was also a thin, dry, white substance.

“Could these two things be the same substance?” With curiosity, Saul attempted to use the short knife in his hand to dig some of the white substance out from inside the pipe.

However, the blade of the short knife was not narrow enough, and the layer of white substance was deeper in the pipeline, so unless the wall was destroyed, it could not be reached at all.

Saul originally wanted to run back and replace it with a steel needle or tweezers, but before he acted he suddenly asked to himself, “Will it be dangerous if I touch it?”

The diary didn’t respond.

So Saul answered himself again, “It shouldn’t be dangerous. After all, candles are scattered all over the Wizard Tower, and the rulebook only says that you can’t extinguish them, but it doesn’t mention that you can’t touch them. Like my job, I often need to come into contact with candles, and it’s possible that I’ll touch them as well. Since it’s not mentioned in the rules, the candles themselves should be harmless.”

Thinking of this, Saul directly put the fingertips of his right hand into the pipe – the diary didn’t move – and gently dug a bit of white substance out.

But as he hooked his index finger, he suddenly felt that the pipe seemed to move.

It was as if it had suddenly been scratched on an itchy flesh, and contracted gently.

The tremor was so slight that Saul wondered if he had misread it.

He put his hand in again and dug, and there was no movement.

Again he gently, as if scratching an itch, strand by strand, hung on to the inside of the pipe.

Suddenly the pipe really did move again.

This time the tremor was still slight, but the mentally prepared Saul could see it clearly this time.

That pipe was alive!

And fucking itchy flesh!
Saul with a complicated face pressed the cut candlestick back, of course, the candlestick in the white substance he also made some, but did not dare to touch the “veins”.

Afterwards, he returned to the long table with the two substances.

Now, the messy table was pushed out by Saul into a small empty space. A small candle, the white substance dug out of the pipe, and the white substance left in the candlestick were placed separately.

Saul took out a little bit from each of these substances again and did various basic property testing experiments.

After a few rounds of experiments, the three substances behaved exactly the same, and it was basically certain that it was the same substance, which was the candle itself.

“The candles in the candlestick are transported through the pipes. That’s why the candles here don’t need to be maintained by humans, and they never burn out.”

“The candles in the storehouse are the same as the ones outside, except they go out, and the candles themselves don’t get shorter. So there should be a living pipe under the candlesticks elsewhere.”

The thought gave Saul a bit of a creep.

He looked up and around, “Could it be that we are actually living in the body of some kind of creature?”

The cold storage room displayed all sorts of materials, not the least of which were the limbs of various creatures. Even though those ports were neat and smooth, they could not alleviate the pain they suffered when they died.

All the cruelty, gore, and obscurity were hidden under a neatly cut slab of stone ……

“Could it be that the Sorcerer’s Tower, is a synthetic creature? Are countless living beings sealed here?”

With countless living beings, there were countless grievances, so the Sorcerer’s Tower could never be plunged into darkness.

Because of the darkness, it would awaken latent fears!
I’ve been getting a lot of words per chapter lately, so I’m now a 5000 party, not a 4000 party.
