Chapter 117: You’re not plugged in.

Chapter 117 – You’re Not Plugged In

“What the hell are those head monsters?” Saul had always felt that he hadn’t read much in the past two years, but there were always more unknowns than knowns.

And in the wizarding world, the unknown often represented a crisis.

Because of the complete lack of understanding of the monsters in front of him, Saul wanted to retreat back to the tent and wait for Byron and Nick to return.

But as soon as he looked up, he saw that several human-headed monsters had somehow climbed onto their lab bench.

There was even one with the back of its head right on top of the Soul Fluctuation Sensor.

That instrument was knocked askew and nearly fell to the ground.

However, that human-headed monster that had hit the perception instrument didn’t have the slightest realization that it had almost gotten into trouble, and popped in place again.

Saul couldn’t help himself now, and hurriedly tried to go forward to save the Perception Instrument.

But just as he stepped out his left foot, the diary beside him flew out and blocked in front of his face.

[Year 316 of the Solstice Calendar, April 14th.
Even if only the head remains.
the human-headed monsters will never stop seeking knowledge.
They will always be immersed in the pursuit of knowledge.
But if a minotaur realizes that you can see them.

They’ll be more than happy to drag you along with them.

What do you say? Think about it?
I’ve gotten a little shorter, but that’s because the nutrition goes to the brain.

That’s because the nutrients have gone to your brain.
[Sobbing]

Sol silently closes his mouth and prepares to lower his left foot.

But as soon as he lowered his left foot, he felt something not quite right underneath it.

He pretended to be unconscious and looked down, and suddenly realized that he was stepping on the hair of the woman’s head that he had just stepped on.

That woman’s head was running clumsily, and when she was suddenly stepped on by her hair, a force was applied, and she directly flipped backward and rolled to the side of Saul’s ankle.

“Oh!!! Some stupid big guy stepped on my hair!”

Saul’s heart went cold.

At that moment, a line of human-headed monsters walked past him.

Instead of helping the woman-headed monsters, they laughed on the sidelines.

“Told you that hair was too much trouble, just eat it.”

“Bald to the core!”

“Or you eat his feet?”

“I hope his feet don’t stink as much as your mouth!”

The woman’s head eyes fluttered.

Saul thought she was about to be convinced by the head monsters.

“Ah,” Sol grunted facetiously, “the balls of my feet are suddenly itchy.”

He lifted his left foot in alarm and reached up in style to scratch it twice through the sole of his shoe.

The woman’s head took the opportunity to take two steps back and free her hair.

“Oh, I’m going to wash my hair!” She ran off with a devastated look on her face.

But the truth was, there was more dirt in her hair than was stuck to the soles of Saul’s shoes.

Making sure there were no other heads underfoot, Saul slowly put his feet down.

Before he could breathe a sigh of relief, he heard a “click”, and when he looked up, he realized that the Soul Fluctuation Sensor was almost hit on the ground.

At this moment, a small part of its base had already leapt to the edge of the table.

Saul took a deep breath.

He puffed up his chest and walked over to it, all the while muttering to himself, “This Perceptron doesn’t look too complicated, I’ll just try to operate it.”

Saul went over with extreme care and picked up the already shaky, half-man-high Perception Gauge.

He originally wanted to carry the Perceptron back to the tent, but as soon as he turned around, he realized that he was somehow crowded with human-headed monsters.

Each of them tilted their heads laboriously and stared at Saul, as if they were expecting Saul to see them as well.

If Saul were to walk back to the tent at this moment, he would definitely step on the human-headed monsters unless he deliberately avoided them.

However, if he deliberately dodged, it would also be easy for the human-headed monster to realize that he could see them.

Saul shook the Perception Gauge in his arms and whispered, “It’s so heavy, forget about breaking it, let’s try it here.”

He made a gesture to slowly put the Perceptron on the ground.

Because he deliberately slowed down his movements, those human-headed monsters in front of his feet saw the Perceptron that was about to fall and moved aside in all directions.

Seeing that there were no more human-headed monsters on the ground, Saul finally placed the Sensory Instrument firmly on the ground.

This way, even if those human-headed monsters knocked down the Sensory Instrument again, it should not be broken.

In order to fulfill what he just said, Saul turned on the Sensory Apparatus according to the method Byron taught him.

This was the first time he had used this Perception Gauge, and even though Byron had demonstrated it once, Saul still stumbled with it. Not to mention the fact that there was a group of spectators around him who thought they were invisible at this time.

“He’s so stupid!”

“Such a person is also a wizard?”

“He’s a sorcerer’s apprentice!”

“If my apprentice was that stupid, I’d eat his brains.”

“As if you had an apprentice!”

Saul tried his best to block out the mocking sounds in his ears, but I don’t know if it was because he was nervous or he really didn’t remember the key points of the operation, Saul drummed for a long time, but surprisingly, he still couldn’t activate the Perception Instrument.

“Forget it!” Saul slumped backward in exhaustion, pressing one hand against a head and sliding it back down to the ground, “I must be stupid.”

Saul expected to reap another pile of taunts, but his ears were very quiet.

He glanced to the ground with his afterglow.

The head monsters were still there.

But very quiet.

It’s like they’re all gagged with stinky socks.

Saul blinked slowly, his eyes falling to the mirror in front of him.

Only in the mirror, there was a crooked Saul.

And behind the crooked Saul, stood a man!

It was a figure whose features could not be seen, but which did not have any deformation or distortion!

Saul’s circumference went cold, and even his breathing stopped.

A spirit body?

No, not just any spirit body.

It’s an evil spirit!
I can’t imagine that the target that Senior Byron was looking for came to my door by itself.

But now it was only Saul.

Saul wanted to mobilize his spiritual power and inspire sorcery, but he couldn’t move a muscle.

Even his spiritual body was as stagnant as lava, not as active as before.

“This evil spirit …… sealed my movement.”

Saul realized that his thinking was slowed down. Because of the rigidity of his consciousness, so much so that he didn’t feel deep fear except for the stiffness.

He gazed at the evil spirit in the mirror, unable to take his eyes off it.

Saul even wished that he would be in a life and death crisis at this point so that he could take over gazing at the diary once it ran out to cut off the Evil Spirit’s hold on him.

But the diary did not move.

Neither did Komoro move.

Apparently the Evil Spirit wasn’t on its recipe.

Saul wondered what the evil spirit in the mirror was trying to do.

He just seemed to want to lock eyes with Saul.

Gradually.
The blurred silhouette in the mirror gradually became clearer, just like the fog gradually melted away on the surface of the mirror.

Saul vaguely saw a pair of eyes ……

Suddenly a hand clapped on Saul’s shoulder.

“Huh?”

Saul jolted, finally able to move.

He subconsciously followed the voice and was surprised to see Byron crouching beside him, looking at himself with concern in his eyes.

“Hmm?”

“Senior Byron, I-I just saw the evil spirit!” Saul didn’t dare to say anything about the human-headed monster on the ground, but when he scanned the ground with his afterglow again, he realized that there wasn’t a single human-headed monster around.

At some point, the head monsters had all run away.

“You saw the evil spirits? Through the Perceptron?” Nick stepped out from behind Byron holding a few large rocks.

“No way.” He placed the rocks on the ground and walked to the side in a bit of a daze, checking this Soul Flux Perceptron, “You didn’t even turn on the Perceptron!”

“What?!” Saul was stunned as he pointed at the mirror with one hand, “Look at ……”

The words ended abruptly.

In the mirror, there was only the crooked Saul and Senior Byron, who was crouching beside Saul, crooked.
