Chapter 95 – Leaving the Wizard’s Tower requires a temporary transformation into a human.

Chapter 95 Leaving the wizard’s tower involves temporarily turning back into a human being
“Being able to get out of the tower ……” Saul had the illusion that he was going to get out of jail.

He felt like he was flying up into the sky like a balloon and at the same time stepping on the ground empty.

He had thought that he would only get the chance to get out of the tower when he was promoted to level two.

If he wanted to raise his magic power to 50 joules, he would probably need another small half a year.

He didn’t expect that an invitation from Senior Byron would advance the time.

What task did Senior Byron need him to assist in?

He recalled having asked Senior Byron to help him find a more complete soul body. He wondered if this invitation was related to that.

“Are you leaving the tower?” Kori’s voice sounded next to him.

“Uh-huh.” A smile hung at the corner of Sol’s mouth.

“Ah, that’s great, just in time for me to head out.”

Korrie was already a level two apprentice, and it wasn’t surprising that she was able to get the quest to leave the tower.

But this was also Korie’s first time going out, and Saul asked with concern, “Is it some kind of dangerous mission?”

Korrie shook her head.

She lowered her eyes and said with little emotion, “Just going to pick up a little bit of material for cultivation outside the tower, and making a trip home.”

She didn’t seem to want to talk about it much and looked up again raising her voice slightly.

“Between it being your birth day and receiving the good news that you can go out, let’s hurry back and celebrate with cake.”

Kori clasped Sol’s shoulder again.

“Eat cake to celebrate the day of birth? Isn’t cake always available? Or is this cake not the kind I understand?” Nick interjected curiously from the sidelines.

Since Nick was going out with Saul, Kori thought about it and extended an invitation to Nick.

“Please come along and taste it, I just made it.” She nodded.

“A very special cake, of course!” Saul came to his senses this time, and without a push from Cori, he offered to lead Nick outside.

“Please be sure to make yourself at home, senpai, I’ll share more of mine with you ……”

The day of departure was delayed by a day due to some irresistible objective reasons.

Nick’s spirit was still a little wilted as he drove out of the Sorcerer’s Tower in a car with Saul.

Saul, who had stuffed most of his birthday cake to Nick’s senior, was in high spirits at the moment as he leaned against the car window and looked out.

The carriage they took out of the tower was a double-decker carriage. The carriage was small, and people could only lean against it inside, unable to lie down, so it wasn’t particularly comfortable. But the carriage was fast.

The person driving the carriage was an adult male slave in the tower. Generally, those who lived to this age, more or less had their own means of preserving their lives.

Along the way, the male servant only opened his mouth when necessary, and would usually try his best to keep his silence and low presence. Both Saul and Nick just called him the carter, not even by his name.

Saul could feel the awe coming from him.

Just as nervous as he had been when facing his mentor and the tower master.

This was due to the disparity in power levels, creating a sense of threat that could not be dispelled by courage alone.

Nick is still reclining on the car seat to rest, Saul has no one to share the joy of getting out of the “cage”, can only be the same as the first time to enter the city, the entire upper half of his body out of the window.

The weather was a little cooler in April, but the spring breeze was beginning to cover the land with greenery.

The connection between the Wizard’s Tower and the wilderness in the distance was also tinted from a single dark yellow to a new green.

As the wagon traveled fast, some grass seed flying insects hit the walls of the wheels and carts, leaving yellowish-green traces.

Saul watched the green mountains and dense forest get closer and closer to him, and a few wild mice and rabbits even popped up occasionally around him.

After a while of looking at the novelty of the outside world, Saul could not help but look back at the wizard tower.

Gray and black wizard tower stands alone on the plains, surrounded by empty and silent, as if after thousands of years will not change.

In addition to the wizards’ buildings, there was not even a single tall shrub around the tower.

As if even the plants were afraid of the wizard tower, and the mysterious world there to maintain an absolute distance. The carriage traveled on the empty and uninhabited wilderness for most of the day, and finally came to a populated village or town.

But the carriage didn’t stop, didn’t even come close to those villages, just quickly sped past them on the main road next to them.

Those village towns weren’t exactly prosperous, and the number of houses was still quite high.

Saul saw that some of the people who were out and about immediately fell to their knees and didn’t get up for a long time after seeing their carriages.

They were dressed in plain and outdated clothes, but they didn’t see anyone who was not clothed.

The people in the outside world seemed to be doing quite well.

The darkness of the Sorcerer’s Tower did not invade the ordinary people around them. And the latter could still enjoy the environmental dividends brought by the Sorcerer’s Tower.

Saul looked at it for half a day and finally shrunk his head back.

After looking at the scenery for half a day, he always had a sense of disconnection as an outsider, and it wasn’t as relaxing as he had imagined.

It was as if the chains from the Sorcerer’s Tower were still firmly attached to his neck.

When Saul sat back on the carriage in frustration, he realized that Senior Nick had somehow recovered his spirit and started reading a book.

Saul: “……”

Well, after thinking about it, he picked up his heavy backpack, rattled off the various props and potions he had prepared, and chose a less sensitive book, which he also took and read.

They rushed for the next five days, only stopping to rest in the middle of the night, and even sleeping was replaced with meditation.

It was rather like an ascetic feeling.

During the daytime of the sixth day, Saul lifted his head from the books that were shaking incessantly, closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Senior Nick, do you know exactly where we are going?”

“Go to Desert Border City on the border of Kemah Duchy, first meet up with Byron, and then …… most likely go to Drooping Hand Valley. But before that, I have to take a detour to do a small quest to earn some credits.”

Nick looked up from his book and blinked at Saul, “It’s a rare trip out, and there’s still time to spare, so we can’t make the trip for nothing.”

While the two were talking, the carriage came to a sudden stop, shaking the two for a moment.

“Has it arrived?” Saul hastily looked out, but only saw a farmland and a gentle hill.

There were no towns around.

At the foot of the hill not far away, a group of dozens of people, riding horses, were standing quietly.

Someone in the group was holding a flag with a blue background and silver edges, and in the center of the flag was a very abstract drawing of a rabbit with a snake in its mouth.

Nick suddenly put away the book in his hand and dashed out of the wagon.

Among the people on the opposite side, a tall middle-aged man tended his horse and ran over.

He wore the same navy blue and silver lightweight cloth armor, with metal armor sewn only in the vitals. He had a longsword hanging from his waist and jumped off his horse when he arrived about ten meters in front of Nick.

Saul saw the man walk up to Nick, drop to one knee, and perform a chest-flattening salute.

Nick raised his hand and motioned for the man to rise, moving with the grace of a prince.

The two men turned their backs to Saul and began to talk in low voices.

Because of the distance, Saul couldn’t hear what they talked about. He could only tell that the middle-aged man had been very respectful, while Nick still had little emotion.

After a while, Nick walked back, but did not get into the carriage.

“There is something on the family side that requires me to go. I’m afraid you’ll have to walk on your own on the next road to Desert Border City.”

Saul asked in surprise, “What about the mission at Elder Byron’s place?”

Nick blinked his eyes, the corners of his mouth tensed, “I’ll be able to finish my business soon, and I won’t be late if I dare to go to Desert Border City from there. But ……”

Saul instantly felt bad about this turn of events.

Sure enough, he heard Nick continue, “I’ll have to ask you to run that little mission I took on. I’ll transfer the quest credits to you.”

First shift!
