Chapter 69.
Chapter 69 Invitation
Hearing Anze’s question, Angela bent down and respectfully answered.
“Yes, my uncle used to be a second level apprentice here, and returned home when he was 30 years old, and it was also my uncle who told me about some of the unwritten rules in the tower.”
Hearing that Angel Tower’s back was only a second level apprentice, Anze immediately lost interest in pursuing the question.
“It’s a bit of a trick, but qualified is qualified.” Tutor Anze raised his finger and pointed to the name tag on Angela’s chest.
The nameplate shone for a moment and reverted back to ordinary, appearing to have no special changes on the outside.
Angela still maintained her humble expression and once again respectfully bent down to thank Tutor Anze.
But as she turned around and walked to the front door, Saul saw the corners of her mouth suppress a tremor.
“Next ……”
Anze’s eyes turned to Sol and Kori’s side.
Angela was sitting on the far left side of the classroom, and Saul was sitting on Korrie’s left, so if they were in the normal order, Saul would have been called next.
But Anze skipped over Saul and let Korie go first.
“Girl come here.”
Kori’s fists, hidden under the table, clenched and unclenched violently.
With steady steps, she walked over to Mentor Anze and without much introduction, cast three sorcerous spells straight away.
All three were metallic 0th rank sorceries.
And one was attack-type, one defense-type, and one enchantment-type.
“You’re the Korie who followed Guido?” Anze surprisingly knew Korie’s name.
“Yes, Mentor Anzawa.”
“He did take in a good apprentice, it’s just a pity that metallic is something I’ve never touched.”
Those words had already given Korie high praise.
He acknowledged Korie and nodded at her name tag as well, then let Korie leave first.
Now, only Sol and Anze were left in the classroom.
“Do I still need to call you?”
Just call Dad.
Saul skinned it in his head, actually, to ease the nervous depression inside.
It couldn’t be helped that, unlike Kori’s status as a victim who had been parasitized by the Mutual, he had just killed three of the Mutual’s newcomers.
If Anze was really the boss behind the Mutual Aid Society, would he take the opportunity to clean him up?
Even if Anze didn’t lay his hands on him due to the rules of the Sorcerer’s Tower, it would be too easy for a teacher to make things difficult for an apprentice.
Saul quickly stepped in front of Anze, and was about to follow Korie’s example of a quick battle.
But was Anze raised his hand to stop.
“Hold out your left hand, let me see it.”
It wasn’t surprising that a mentor could notice the abnormality in Sol’s left hand.
Saul raised his left hand, which originally showed only a little fingertip, to his chest.
Anze glanced at it for a few moments and nodded.
“Enough brains, guts, and luck, no wonder he was able to kill Cid.”
Was it for Cid?
Saul had joined forces with Konza and Byron to make a setup for Cid, directly making him a new guest in the corpse room.
Knowing that he can’t hide this, he simply admits to it, defending himself in the process.
“Teacher, I belonged to self-defense and was forced to kill back.”
Anze heard Sol’s words, and his lazy face directly smiled open.
“Justified …… defense?” His hand seemed to be unconsciously drawing circles on the desktop, “There is no need to be nervous, I won’t care if you are justified or not, if you are not in defense, Sid is not my apprentice, if you want to be afraid, you should also be afraid of Rum, he is Sid’s mentor. When he sobers up, he might let you see him.”
“Mentor Rum?”
Rum was also one of the five mentors, majoring in what seemed to be the water attribute.
“Can Tutor Anze help me explain? I was really forced to do so.”
Sol said this as a mere courtesy, he could already tell that Tutor Anze was a person who hated trouble very much, at least on the surface.
Who would have expected …… “That’s fine.” Anze laughed lightly and hooked his finger at Sol, “If you turn into my apprentice, I can help you solve this trouble.”
Was it even possible to change mentors in the Sorcerer’s Tower?
However, no matter what kind of reason Saul used to change mentors, it would be difficult not to offend the original mentor.
Besides, instead of changing mentors, he could have just gone and begged Mentor Katz to help him solve his troubles.
“Thank you, Mr. Anze, it’s just that my mentor is also very good to me on weekdays, and I can’t leave him.” Sol replied cautiously, also being careful not to offend Anze with his words.
“Treat you well? Treat you well enough to not tell you that you’re haunted by a grudge?”
Spirits?
Saul’s eyes snapped up in surprise.
“Don’t look at me, you should go to Mentor Rum, he’s the best at dealing with Grievers …… if he’s still in the mood to help you.”
Anze leaned back, his eyes closing slightly as he crossed his arms over the small of his back and tapped rapidly.
“Forget it if you don’t want to turn around. Ugh …… the test is finally done, it’s a pain in the ass.”
“Uh ……” Sol reminded Anze, “Mentor I haven’t cast my sorcery yet.”
“Cast what? You can kill level two, what else do you need to show?”
“But, Mentor Anze, you haven’t done it on my name tag …… “Sol didn’t know how to describe that action.
Make a mark?
Anze, however, didn’t move, just closed his eyes and said, “Sol, do you know why the tower conducts frequent tests?”
Of course Saul didn’t know.
“The form in which the Sorcerer’s Tower is constituted is destined that it will try its best to drain everyone of their abilities. If one day you find that you are reused, don’t be too happy, you’ve just been placed in a position that is more suitable for your current abilities.”
Anze stopped talking, as if he had fallen asleep.
Saul knew this meant for him to leave the classroom.
But Anze still hadn’t marked all the name tags… was this to make things difficult for him? Or was he annoyed that Sol wouldn’t turn into his apprentice?
Sol saluted Anze, who had his eyes closed, and turned to leave.
When he worriedly pushed open the classroom door and raised his eyes, he was startled.
There were more than twenty people standing densely in the corridor outside the classroom.
Even Luo Kai was standing in the front row of the crowd.
Luo Kai wasn’t surprised to see Saul come out, and even laughed playfully in an uproarious manner, “Come on, let’s all congratulate the first place winner of this test.”
After saying that, he led the applause.
Keri immediately followed suit.
But other than Kagome, no one else in the hallway applauded together.
The apprentices looked at Saul, some were incredulous, some were indifferent, and others had a look of fear on their faces.
Rokai and Korie’s applause continued, creating an awkward ensemble in the hall.
Gradually, Angela began to applaud, then Dozer, who was filled with unease, then a fifth, a sixth ……
Eventually everyone in the hallway began to applaud, and the atmosphere gradually became warm and strange.
“That’s right, that’s right~” Rokai was still applauding while nodding his head in relief, “We’re all partners who entered the tower together, that’s how we should help each other, hee hee hee hee.”
The applause sounded for about three minutes.
Only then did Luo Kai raise his hand to signal everyone to be quiet, “Also, as a reward for first place, you can go to the garden and pick a companion flower to cultivate.”
“So there’s a reward for first place.” Saul was heartily pleased, this was much more comforting than the applause he had just received.
A garden? Companion flowers?
When I used to be a servant, I was always threatened by the butler that I would be dragged away to be used as flower fertilizer if I didn’t do a good job.
Now he was about to see the flowers nourished by that fertilizer?
It always felt like it wouldn’t be anything beautiful.
At that moment, Rokai suddenly approached, he bent down and lowered his head, gazing at Saul with a face of excitement.
“I still don’t know your name. Are you not a member of the Mutual Aid Society, would you like to join now?”
“Although you’re the first in this group of apprentices, there can be many seniors and apprentices in the Mutual Aid Association who are more powerful than you~”
Very sorry!!! I didn’t get up in the morning, I’m catching bugs for the second chapter, it’ll be coming soon!
