Chapter 53: No One Lives an Easy Life

Chapter 53 No One Lives an Easy Life

Duke’s words made the room quiet for a moment, and Dozer and Rocky looked at Duke uncertainly.

“What’s Jenna doing looking at Sol’s quarters?” Dozer asked curiously.

Rocky had been watching Jenna’s strange behavior, but he didn’t dare to ask since Jenna wouldn’t tell him why.

Afraid that Jenna would be upset.

But Rocky was nervous, was Jenna really spying on Saul?

“I, no, I was looking at Kori.” Jenna subconsciously defended.

“Oooh~” Duke revealed a smirking expression, “Not looking at Saul ah, although Saul and I don’t have a good relationship, but at least we’re the same mentor, I thought you had something to look for from him that could help you.”

“Forget it then.” Duke shrugged his shoulders and seemed to want to turn around and leave.

Jenna, however, couldn’t help but call out to him.

“Duke! Do you know …… where Saul usually stays?”

As soon as these words came out, Dozer and Rocky’s gazes quickly shifted to Jenna.

While Dozer was curious, Rocky was nervous.

Duke moved and waited a moment before turning back to Jenna, looking at her apprehensive appearance and smiling reassuringly.

“Really looking for Saul ah-” Duke deliberately stretched his voice, “OK, I see he’s still quite patient with girls. Usually, he’s also close to Kori, and at my mentor’s place, he’s on good terms with Angela.”

Hearing Duke’s words, the first one to react was Rocky, who pursed his lips tightly.

The second one who had a reaction was Jenna, who heard Duke’s words, but her heart was happy.

If Saul really liked girls, that would be fine.

Her family at least dabbled in the side of a nobleman, other things can not, but those rotten habits in the circle of nobles is learned thoroughly.

She was not afraid of Saul’s request, but afraid of Saul’s lack of request.

……

The next day, Saul did not go to class again.

Kori was a little worried.

She wasn’t even sure if she was worried about Sol’s schoolwork or if she was worried that she was going to be left far behind by Sol.

In between classes, Kori followed Saul’s words and found the soulful Jenna.

The two found a separate classroom.

“Saul said that if you want to ask him for an errand, go to the second floor of the East Tower and wait for him at three o’clock this afternoon.”

Jenna was overjoyed to hear that.

Although she had already inquired about where Saul was from Duke, having Saul open his mouth to invite him naturally made it more certain that the problem would be solved.

“Yes!” Jenna agreed in one breath, and without seeing Kerri’s reaction, she jumped back to dress up.

Because of nervousness plus urgency, Jenna didn’t eat at noon, picked the best looking dress she brought with her when she came, a light red tutu, and hurriedly rushed to the second floor of the East Tower.

And by this time, it was just one in the afternoon.

The second floor of the East Tower, the third corpse room.

Saul was conducting a validation experiment against his new left hand.

He looked up and heard footsteps different from the previous ones coming from outside the door.

One thought and he knew it was Jenna.

He lowered his head, ignoring whoever was outside, and continued his experiment.

Even though he hadn’t been to class for a few days, Saul books hadn’t been missed.

Especially the Cognizance of All Things, he net picked the knowledge related to his current research to read, and gained a better understanding of dark attribute materials.

At the same time, after experiencing a successful sorcery body transformation experiment, Saul’s heart was stirring and he wanted to carry out a second one.

The experiment was a big investment, but once it was successful, the rewards were even greater.

It might allow him to directly step into the second level apprentice tier.

He didn’t lack money now.

Byron still owed him nearly a hundred credits.

No shortage of materials.

There were quite a few materials left behind privately by Daily Work Saul, and there were other materials that could be exchanged in the registration room, so he could just have Senior Byron check out.

The time came to three o’clock in the afternoon a little bit.

During the long wait, Jenna’s excited heart gradually sank again. It was her first time on the second floor of the East Tower.

The East Tower was different from the West Tower in that there were traps like terrors everywhere.

Except for the classrooms, the library, and the registration room, Jenny had never wandered alone.

And here on the second floor of the East Tower, there is really something …… different.

Although the corridors here seemed fairly quiet and tidy, the air was filled with an unspeakable odor.

It seemed to be the smell of rot, blood, and dirt mixed together.

There was also a tall, strong, strange man sitting at the entrance to the corridor, and Jenna was really afraid that she would be stopped by the strange man when she came over.

Why was Saul working here?
Such a bad place, had Saul been banished by his mentor?

In that case, did Saul really have a way to help her with the parasites?

After all, this place really doesn’t look like a place where a powerful person, would stay ……

However, Jenna had just pondered this when she saw a man walk past her.

And when he passed Jenna’s shoulder, Jenna was startled when she realized his presence.

The man bowed his head, walked to the second door and went inside, ignoring Jenna from start to finish, as if Jenna was a cloud of air.

“He looked pretty old, but didn’t have the same swagger as a second level apprentice.” Jenna recalled the other man’s back, “Maybe just a first level apprentice with a lot of seniority. Would he be the one to help Kagome get rid of the parasite?”

Jenna hesitantly wanted to go after him and ask, but was afraid of being reprimanded for being too abrupt.

As she wandered, she suddenly realized that another person’s back had appeared in front of her at some point.

This time Jenna froze outright.

If she hadn’t inadvertently looked up, I’m afraid that she wouldn’t have realized that she had brushed up against another person until that person disappeared at the end of the corridor.

“That person …… that person feels so powerful.” Jenna gulped.

She actually didn’t even dare to recall the other person’s back, as if to do so seriously would instead bring something horrible to mind.

“That person, could that be the one who helped Kagome?”

Jenna wanted to go after him, but her two feet were trembling in place.

She didn’t dare.

It wasn’t until three o’clock sharp that Saul opened the door and stepped out of the body room.

At this time, the delicate makeup on Jenna’s face had long been spent, and a beautiful dress was wrinkled and stuck to the floor.

She was leaning against the wall like the big man at the entrance to the corridor, curled up.

It was just that the big man’s presence was still strong even when he was curled up.

Whereas Jenna, curled up in a ball, was literally on the verge of being swallowed by the shadows.

Saul opened the door, the bright lights of the room behind him poking out, and in the glow was Saul’s dark shadow.

Jenna’s eyes were shaken by the light for a moment, and were covered by Saul’s shadow again.

She looked up with bleary eyes and a smile finally returned to her face when she saw that it was Saul she had been waiting for hours to see in the doorway.

“Saul!”

Jenna leapt to her feet and tried to get up, but her feet gave out and she fell back into a sitting position.

“You just sit there.” Saul said in a low voice.

Jenna was startled.

The Saul here also looked oozy, was he being affected by the environment?
At this point Jenna began to wonder again, “Perhaps it was Saul himself who helped Korie get rid of the parasites ……”

Jenna raised her hand to gather her somewhat messy hair and spread the hem of her red dress again, looking up at Saul with a timid expression.

Unfortunately, she didn’t realize that her makeup was all blown off from the cold sweat that had beaded on her, and she didn’t look at all like a cute and pitiful little girl.

On the contrary, under the dim light in the corridor, she was as stiff and horrible as a corpse.

Saul watched expressionlessly as Jenna tidied up, he had expected Jenna to do something, to think about what it would cost to beg for herself.

But he didn’t expect Jenna, at her young age, to start using beauty tricks.

Did Jenna forget that she was only twelve years old?

The girl’s looks were okay, but Saul wasn’t a pervert and wouldn’t even think in that direction.

He asked directly, “Okay, put away those little gestures of yours. Let me ask you, who told you to come to me?”
