Chapter 47 – A Third-Class Thigh
Chapter 47 – A Level 3 Thigh
Saul tilted his head and looked at Byron, the other man’s expression was as serious as ever.
“Is that the map of the coordinates of that composite rune?”
The corners of Byron’s eyes curved up, “Yes. Although it’s just a diagram of the construction of a compound rune, it also gave me a lot of inspiration, which is why I was able to find my own locator at the last minute as my thirtieth year approached.”
“Locator?”
“This you will naturally know when you wait until you reach the second level. Knowing it now will only aggravate you and disturb your thoughts.”
Sol nodded.
The knowledge of the wizard world also required a certain strength to explore.
Understanding high-level knowledge too early would only lead to madness.
“But although this knowledge you can’t understand right now, when you enter the second level, you can come to me and enter my squad. I’ll hand you some of the insights I gained during my apprenticeship at the second level.”
“Squad?” This was another term that Sol had never heard before.
“Third level apprentices go out looking for opportunities so they can fuse their locators, so you’ll hardly ever see them inside the Wizard’s Tower.”
“At the same time, because the places they go to are dangerous, many times they will travel in groups. Many second level apprentices will also go out with their teams in order to find a locator that suits them, only some will die outside.”
Byron sighed and made a whistling sound throughout his body.
“It can’t be helped, the resources in the wizard’s tower are limited.”
Thinking about his empty lab bench and cabinet, and squeezing a large bag of magic crystals in his arms, Saul also sighed, “Yeah, it’s too limited.”
Byron walks over to Peggy’s long table and flips through the books on it. Checking another round of the three sarcophagi in the room, he finally returned to Peggy’s decaying corpse.
“These three corpses harbor evil spirits, and Peggy was supposed to give them to Mentor Katz for disposal. But …… her greed got the better of her and she wanted to monopolize the corpse of this second level apprentice.”
Saul nodded, the hardcover book had also told him that when Saul died, what Peggy would write in the register would be the three corpses of the first level apprentice.
The destination of that second level apprentice’s corpse was already self-evident.
The wound in place of the lip continued to open and close.
“But she underestimated the evil spirits, and overestimated herself, and fell so deep into it that she had to find you as a scapegoat.”
Saul continued to nod as Senior Byron put it all into perspective.
“You’re good.” Byron concluded, the corners of his eyes curving slightly as he looked at Saul with relief.
“I made a mistake, too.” Saul was able to kill Peggy back, solely because the hardcover book was able to help him eliminate all the wrong options, plus a few props given by Konza on his body.
Otherwise, with his strength, two strikes against the Necromancer would be the limit.
So the big white leg should still be hugged, just be careful not to be brought into the ditch.
“Peggy’s relics, I’ll take care of it, do you have a problem with that?”
Saul immediately shook his head, “No opinion, senior handles it, it’s the safest.”
Byron also did not talk nonsense, walked over and easily lifted two of the coffins.
One of them contained a second level apprentice, and the other contained a first level apprentice.
“Let’s go.”
Saul froze, not knowing what Byron was going to do, but he immediately followed.
Byron passed Hayden’s room and stopped to kick the other man’s door with his foot.
The door opened a crack first, and Hayden immediately opened it all the way when he saw that it was Byron outside the door.
“Senior Byron.”
“Uh-huh!”
The wounds on Byron’s body had already healed, and he threw in one of the sarcophagi of a first level apprentice.
“Bam!”
The sarcophagus fell to the ground, picking up a puff of dust.
“Huh?”
Hayden, who had also worked with Byron for a few years, instantly understood what Byron meant.
“I understand, I skipped work tonight and don’t know what’s going on here.”
“Uh-huh.” Byron nodded.
Hayden immediately closed the door behind him, pretending that no one was here.
Saul, on the other hand, had his jaw completely dropped at the shock of Byron’s maneuver.
Byron held up the remaining sarcophagus and led Saul to the third corpse room.
He does it again and pulls a slit for his throat.
“There’s something wrong with Peggy’s body, I’ll keep it and report it to my mentor. This one is basically clean, still has value, and Peggy has hidden its existence anyway, so I’ll leave it for you.”
It seems that Senior Byron is “dividing the spoils”, so Peggy’s corpse belongs to Senior Byron. Saul didn’t have any complaints.
But Byron didn’t just take Peggy’s body and give Saul a better option.
“You killed Peggy, I’ll keep it, but I won’t rob you for nothing. If you have anything you want to exchange, you can come to me anytime within a month.”
Saul stood up in surprise, he could even open his mouth right now and say a bunch of stuff.
But he looked back at the sarcophagus on the ground and suddenly calmed down again.
Byron was about to become a third level apprentice, and he wouldn’t leave the wizard tower.
And as one of the few people in the entire Sorcerer’s Tower who had no ill will towards him, and even said that he could be a help to him.
It was too rare.
He hadn’t settled on a final plan for his current sorcerous body transformation experiment, so he might as well save the opportunity for when he really needed it.
“I’ll be taking over the corpse room until I’m officially a third level apprentice, so come see me anytime.”
“Senior, do you know Cid?” Seeing Byron about to turn and leave, Saul called out to him again.
“Hmm?” The wound healed.
“I have some conflicts with Sid, do you think Peggy would want to use the opportunity to kill me because of Sid?”
Byron, however, shook his head.
For some reason, Saul read Byron’s meaning.
He was saying “I don’t know” instead of “no”.
Byron looked around at Saul, and doubt flashed in his eyes.
He was probably wondering why a first level apprentice, a newcomer who had just arrived for a month, could make so many enemies.
Byron exited the room, leaving space for Saul. He still had to go back to deal with Peggy’s corpse and the trouble Peggy had left behind.
Saul was also satisfied with Byron’s reaction.
At the very least, Senior Byron and Sid shouldn’t be familiar with each other either.
In this way, Senior Byron could completely become his other thigh against West Germany.
A tertiary thigh!
With a cozy smile on his face, Saul walked over to the sarcophagus.
This sarcophagus looked special, not an ordinary material.
It was also true, how could a normal coffin hold an evil spirit?
Saul rubbed his hands together in excitement, “People don’t get rich without cross-currency, robbers honestly don’t deceive me.”
Saul locked the door from the inside.
This would be the first time he dealt with a body that hadn’t been screened by Hayden.
It was also complete and the first material that belonged to him.
……
The Peggy thing really doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Syd.
Syd hadn’t been seen for a long time after Kongsa killed the newcomer Syd had brought back who was originally going to replace Saul.
Life returned to peace and quiet, and studying and experimenting seemed to take over the main theme again.
But Saul knew that Cid would not give up.
Floating on his shoulder was the hardback book that Sid was bound to win, and several times of coming back from the dead had made Saul realize more and more the power of the hardback book.
Now if anyone wants to come and snatch the Hardcover Book, Saul will absolutely fight to the death.
He was not sure how much Syd knew about the Hardcover Book.
But he surmised that it was definitely limited.
The Hardcover Book was able to predict death, and the few times Cid had tried his hand at Saul, he had indeed been able to threaten Saul’s life.
But each time the kill didn’t come dry enough!
It also gave Saul time to find a way to save himself.
Saul asked himself that if he had been the one to grab the hardback, he would have chosen a killing method that was unresponsive and had nowhere to go.
Instead of wasting his time like Cid did, and having Saul in turn realize his intentions.
Therefore, although Sid was on the trail of a book, he wasn’t quite sure what the hardcover book was for.
So, how did he know about the existence of the hardcover book?
“Gimme!”
The sound of flames interrupted Saul’s thoughts as he stood up, first glancing at the crucible on the table and the other containers in the reaction.
It should be a long time until the reaction was over.
He rose to greet his first guest of the day.
Once again, thank you, Master Readers!
