Chapter 44 First-time cooperation
Chapter 44 First Cooperation
Saul took a step and stopped directly in front of Mark.
He didn’t really want Mark to know that he knew Byron.
“Senior, I would like to inquire with you if there is any alternative way to earn credits.”
“Don’t you have enough credits?” Mark thought it was strange, where would a newbie apprentice need so many credits?
However, he quickly remembered that Saul wanted to research Sorcerous Body Transformation on his own, and the investment in this research was a bottomless pit.
“Come in and talk.”
Mark stepped aside to open the door.
Senior Mark’s dormitory had the same structure as Kongsa’s dormitory, but it was messy inside, with unknown things all over the floor.
There was only an empty space at the long table, but there was also only one chair.
Mark sat on the chair in a big way, lifting over a box with his foot and signaling for Sol to sit on it.
“It’s actually pretty easy to earn more credits with what you’re doing now.”
Saul looked up at Mark honestly.
“The Mutual Aid Society, have you heard of it?”
Saul’s mind reeled and feigned memory, “I heard about it from someone who was in the same batch as me, but I was too busy at the time to go there.”
Then he carefully asked, “Senior …… you are also a member of the Mutual Aid Society?”
Mark waved his hand, “I’m not, that mutual aid association is actually a small group made by a third level apprentice in conjunction with a few second level apprentices. However, the ones who usually step forward to manage it are all second level apprentices.”
The corner of Mark’s mouth hung up a familiar mocking smile again, “Saying it’s mutual aid, newcomers who go there can all be exploited.”
“However, the Mutual Aid Association also got some interesting things, such as the swap meet. It’s cheaper than the goods that are graded in the academy’s registration room. Like you, if you have goods in your hands, you can go there to sell them and earn some money.”
“Goods in hand?” Sol asked tentatively, “Are you saying that I take the Corpse Room’s stuff to sell? But isn’t the mentor not allowed to?”
“You’re a newcomer, so naturally you lack the means to do so, but you can put a price on it and let those who are interested figure out how to take it themselves.”
Sol was a bit hesitant about this proposal.
He did want to visit that exchange when he had the chance, but the parasites that Korrie had encountered last time were a big problem.
It might be safe for a senior like Mark Byron to go to the exchange. But those people could very well poison him for being a newcomer.
It would be nice if this exchange allowed anonymous attendance.
But on second thought, there were a number of apprentices in the wizard’s tower, and even if everyone was masked, it would be easy for people to guess where he came from.
In case someone stirs this up to Mr. Katz …… Well, there are some things that are fine to do in secret, but it’s not good to put them in the open.
“Thank you senior, I’ll think about this.”
Mark could see Saul’s worry and comforted him, “You don’t need to worry about this, the last person who was in charge of this job of yours has been selling things at the exchange. And the people who bought his stuff, in order to continue working together in the future, will also intentionally help him keep his secrets.”
Saul asked slightly expectantly, “Is there anything you need, Senpai?”
Mark couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“Do you think you can have what I need?”
Saul thought he might actually have it, but there was no point in rushing to expose it in front of Mark.
After leaving Mark’s dormitory, Saul went straight back to the second floor of the East Tower.
It was better to postpone the matter of paying a visit to Senior Byron.
Saul planned to find an unoccupied time and slip a note telling Byron to meet him on the second floor of the East Tower.
Hopefully, Elder Byron would be interested in the other composite rune constructed models he had in hand.
Compared to the exchange meeting with its hidden crisis, it was still more reliable for Senior Byron.
After two days, Saul hadn’t been able to wait for Senior Byron, obviously he had already slipped the note into Byron’s dormitory.
“He wouldn’t have left already, right?”
Saul’s refining materials had been completely depleted, and there were a few more pieces of plastic bone in his hands, but there was still no substantial progress in the sorcerous body transformation.
During his free time, he had already managed to cast “Strike Necromancy”, a 0th level sorcery.
If Senior Byron had already left the tower, Saul would rather steal the materials from the necropolis than exchange his own experience to other strangers.
At that moment, the door of the corpse room was suddenly knocked.
Saul was a bit surprised, Instructor Katz had only come yesterday, normally it would take four or five days before he might come. Who would come to him now?
Saul opened the door, surprisingly, it was that icy schoolmate who had taken over Byron’s job.
The other party was still looking at the person with her chin up.
“Come over here and do me a favor.”
With that, she turned and walked back, seemingly certain that Saul would follow.
Sol hesitated for half a second, closing the door to follow.
It was the first time he had entered the first corpse room.
He was shocked by the scene inside as soon as he took a step in the front foot.
This place was completely different from his corpse room, or perhaps it wasn’t called a corpse room at all.
It was more like a god jumping scene.
The walls above and around his head were painted with black lines, and between the lines were runes of various sizes.
Candles of different heights were all over the floor, some lit, some extinguished. Between the candles were also drawn spell formations whose purpose could not be seen.
In the center of the room stood three sarcophagi, each wide open, inside stood three corpses.
It was normal to see corpses in a corpse room.
However, these three corpses here gave Saul a very bad feeling.
They were able to stand there without relying on any restraints, and if Saul hadn’t been able to see the obvious fatal wounds on their bodies, it would have been easy to assume that they were three living people standing there with their eyes closed.
“These are the three new ones brought in today.” The schoolteacher crossed her arms and stopped at the doorway, “But there’s a bit of a problem, the one in the center is a second level apprentice ……”
The senior sister raised her hand and pointed to the corpse in the center that had been cleaved from shoulder to chest by a sharp instrument.
“He brought in an evil spirit with him. If we don’t get rid of the evil spirit, we won’t be able to utilize any of the materials on this corpse.”
“But that evil spirit is very cunning, whenever I want to kill him, he will immediately transfer to the other two corpses. And once my sorcery switches objects, I have to start all over again.”
Against an evil spirit?
Saul thought to himself, “I wonder if the Strike Against Necromancy I just learned is any good?”
But on the surface, he said, “Senior sister, I don’t have any means to deal with evil spirits yet ……”
“Of course I do.” School Sister sneered, “I’m just asking you to come and help me determine the location of the Evil Spirit and tell me at the last minute of casting the spell so that he doesn’t run away again and be a pain in the ass.”
That schoolteacher raised her hand as she said that and threw something to Saul.
Saul took it and looked down, it was a floppy piece of leather.
I don’t know what material is that leather, white and delicate, warm to the touch, smell up there are a few points of flowers and grass fragrance.
Leather in the center of two small holes, hole and hole, separated by about half a palm width.
This leather is not drawn on what magic formation runes.
“If you put this mask on your face and sit in the spell formation in the corner, you will be able to see the location of the evil spirits. Go on, don’t delay.” Sister Ice Cold Snow impatiently urged.
“Senior sister, I ……”
The other party interrupted Sol again, “Got it, want a reward right? Wait to solve the evil spirits. The corpses of the other two first level apprentices, you choose one at random and take it away. I’ll write down in the mission register that I’ve only taken in the corpses of a first level apprentice and a second level apprentice today.”
Surprisingly, you could just take away a corpse?
Sol had always felt that he had gone quite overboard by appropriating some materials from time to time.
He didn’t expect this second level apprentice senior sister to give away a complete corpse without batting an eye.
The corpses that were sent to the necropolis room all had some abnormalities on their bodies and could not be buried directly. But when handled properly, these abnormal parts were the best dark attribute materials.
It could be said to be very valuable.
Saul only had to help his senior sister observe the location of the evil spirits, and he was able to take so much pay?
Could it be that the task itself was actually dangerous, like the evil spirit might strike out at Saul.
“Can I ask, senior sister, why didn’t you look for senior Hayden instead of me?”
I got sick two days ago and my savings are running out.
It’s Tuesday yet, ask for a catch up read, lords!!!! Please turn to the last page!!!
