Chapter 43: Without money, it’s hard to get around.
Chapter 43: It’s hard to move an inch without money
For the fourth sorcery, Saul, after consulting Mark, decided to go with the 0th rank sorcery with the same dark attribute, Strike Necromancy.
Mainly because of his work environment, it was too easy for ghosts and spirits to appear, and Strike Necromancy worked wonders for that.
After about two hours of study, the new spell resolution model already had a preliminary idea.
Saul was once again awakened by his work and rose to greet his first guest of the day.
A white bone ……
“That’s too clean, isn’t it?”
There wasn’t a single piece of flesh left on the body, as if it had been dug out of the earth after decades.
Such a clean corpse, on the contrary, made Saul feel abnormal.
He put down the tools in his hands and invited his guest into the big box, then turned around and went to visit the seniors next door.
“I don’t know.” Hayden still stood behind the palm-width doorway receiving Saul, “The body was already a white bone by the time it reached me.”
Hayden then simply passed it on to Saul.
Saul said goodbye to Hayden and looked to the room where the new second level apprentice was.
The new second level apprentice wasn’t like Senior Byron who was nice to talk to.
I’m afraid asking would be fruitless.
The first procedure in the corpse room, there was no such thing as collecting materials, the main thing was to eliminate any dangers that might exist on the corpse.
That’s why I’m afraid that body was already devoid of flesh and blood when it was sent to the body room.
This little episode didn’t take up too much of Saul’s energy, instead, because there were no other clients today, Saul was able to continue his research.
It was just that the progress of the sorcerous body transformation was far less than his sorcery studies.
If only sorcerous body transformation could be as simple as runes and spells.
If others knew what Saul was thinking, they would probably be infuriated.
Once again, he poured out the failed refining materials that were about to explode.
Saul suddenly stopped as he closed the lid of the large box.
“Huh?”
Today’s white bones were slowly getting smaller and corroded under the chaotic solution poured by Saul’s creation.
Did he himself just create sulfuric acid?
Saul snapped the lid shut and waited a moment before opening it again to look at it.
The white bone had decayed cleanly, but the entire large box was unchanged and still sturdy.
“I’m afraid the most valuable thing in the whole corpse room are these boxes.”
Saul patted the large sturdy crates, tempted to gouge a piece off of them.
“Hmm?” Saul suddenly noticed the bottom of the crate, and a small grayish-white stone.
He got a clamp and a test tube and chucked out the small stone.
Saul had thought that the stone that had been dissolved and solidified again would be hard, but he didn’t expect it to be somewhat flexible, like a cow’s hoof tendon.
He marked the test tube and corresponded the whole process of this refining with the small stone, maybe he would use it later.
For now, it was really quick to use for destruction.
Like the body-destroying powder Saul had read about in his last life.
Saul did a few more tests on the small stone and found that this thing wasn’t afraid of fire, water immersion, acid etching, and even ordinary sharp blades couldn’t leave the slightest scratch.
If used properly, could it be made into some kind of defense?
Sol poked the stone gently with a small steel needle while thinking out loud.
The next day, in public class.
As soon as Korie slammed her book down next to Sol, she sat down and broke the big news.
“That new apprentice you asked me about yesterday …… is dead!”
“Dead? Didn’t he just get here?” Saul buckled his toes against the soles of his shoes, trying to make his expression look natural.
“Yeah, probably offended someone and died before he even met his mentor. Before I came here my father had been urging me to forget who I was, what I was proud of, and to be honestly inferior until I became a second class apprentice.”
Kori sighed, not sure if she was sad for the new apprentice or for herself.
Thor withdrew his gaze and looked down at the Noah text in front of him.
Sorcery script was not a normal language, there was no everyday language involved, no name verbs. All of its meanings were in the service of sorcery, elements, and spiritual power, so it actually had very few words.
Over the past month or so, Saul had memorized all the words in Noah’s text. This was unimaginable before, but now he didn’t feel overwhelmed. Even his main focus wasn’t on this.
So for now, Saul’s main focus in learning Noah’s words was to consolidate the basics and use them in conjunction with the wizard books.
But today, he was a bit distracted by reading it.
When he killed Brown the day before yesterday, he didn’t feel much, and thought that his nerves had been toughened beyond measure by this dangerous world.
But today, when he heard about the death of that new apprentice, he realized that it would still be hard for him.
Saul grimaced and inwardly launched himself into a self-mockery.
“I’m also actively getting someone killed for my own benefit.”
“I also …… can’t count myself as a good person anymore.”
He closed his eyes, mindful of the inner torment he felt at this time.
But does not regret it.
After a few days, Saul was continuing his experiments in the necropolis when he suddenly realized.
The white-boned guest he had seen earlier was most likely the new apprentice who had just entered the Sorcerer’s Tower.
All corpses in the Sorcerer’s Tower that died of anomalies would be sent to the Corpse Room to be disposed of first, so as not to gather too many ghosts or monsters and bring in more instability.
On the other hand, it was also to recover some of the materials on those corpses that had become experimentally valuable due to the anomalies.
Because from the corpse bones of that newcomer, the method of refining plastic bones was discovered – the name of plastic bones was given by Saul – he was using the bones of his guests for refining these days.
But today he had to stop.
It was because the materials needed for refining were basically all used up.
He also ran out of money and credits.
“This is definitely not going to work!”
Saul stood in front of the lab bench and rubbed his chin.
“Taking dead wages to work on a project is definitely a dead end. I have to think of some way to open source before I can do that.”
The thing that Saul was going to do was the sorcerous body transformation that all the current first level apprentices hadn’t been exposed to, and some of them had never even heard of it.
Therefore with the income of an ordinary first level apprentice, it would not be able to support him to carry out experiments for a long time.
Moreover, for the sake of the experiment, the materials that Saul had recently submitted had been greatly reduced, and fortunately, Mentor Katz had never reprimanded him for this matter.
And as a result, Saul’s movements were getting bolder and bolder.
But even so, the materials he had on hand were almost exhausted.
“I don’t have anything of value on me right now, the Phantom Sound Pupil is a great weapon to aid in battle, it absolutely cannot be sold. The Plastic Bone will become my secret weapon if I get it right can’t be divulged either.”
Saul finally thought of his own insights about rune learning, especially compound rune mastery, the coordinate method.
If it was sold to those rich first level apprentices, it might be able to make a profit. After all, this was knowledge that even second level apprentices, Senior Byron, were interested in.
Coordinates were novel to say the least, but the actual principle wasn’t complicated, after all, it didn’t involve anything more esoteric.
Only the candidates for this deal should be carefully considered, to choose not to have a conflict of interest with their own, but also to choose the bottom line of the character of a passable.
Keri is a good choice, but Keri has already been cut once by herself, I don’t know if there are still credits and magic crystals in her hand.
As for other first level apprentices, Saul really didn’t have much contact with them.
The ones he had contacted, he didn’t want to deal with.
“Wait!” Saul’s eyes lit up, “Why am I being silly, clearly second level apprentice Senior Byron is the most suitable candidate!”
Rich, powerful, no conflict of interest in the Fast Leaving Tower, and a nice person.
Across the passageway connected by the conveyor belt, greeting the next door Hayden senior, Saul happily skipped work to find Byron.
“1016 is this floor now.” Saul stood on the ramp on the tenth floor of the West Tower and looked in.
He had been here a few times and was under the impression that Senior Byron’s room had never given him any trouble.
The corridors of the second level apprentices were always quiet, not to mention that it was the time when the various labs were open.
Saul had rushed over and was almost at the door before he remembered that he might not be able to block Byron at this hour.
Just as Saul was about to approach Senior Byron’s dormitory, a door to the room beside him suddenly opened, and Mark walked out from inside.
“Saul? You came to see me?” Mark greeted Saul in front of him with some surprise.
