Chapter 32 A good and serious colleague
Chapter 32 – A Good Colleague Who Takes Responsibility Seriously
Once the half hour was up, Saul took his own leave.
Looking at the direction Saul left, Mark was a bit baffled.
“Why do you think so highly of that brat?”
His palm cracked open again, and his tongue was hidden, but it made the sound of a human speaking.
“Mentor-sama has given him a chance hasn’t he? And I also want to see how far he can go. I haven’t seen any first level apprentice complete a sorcerous body transformation yet.”
The palm made a gagging sound.
……
Thor didn’t know that someone (shenanigans) was already craving his body, only that the knowledge he’d gotten from Mark hadn’t been a waste of his two credits.
What hesitation? The trepidation?
Heh.
Doesn’t exist.
Saul couldn’t wait to go to the necropolis to validate his crazy surge of inspiration.
He walked briskly toward the stairs when suddenly a woman with a hood brushed past him.
The beautiful jaw, and the sexy red lips were so familiar.
Even if he hadn’t seen them for more than twenty days, Saul still wasn’t half rusty.
He slowly stopped his steps and looked back.
Kong Sha, however, did not stop and her figure disappeared around the corner of the ramp.
Her fingers gestured a one as the two brushed past.
Saul stayed for a long time, and was in a different mood when he hit the road again.
He wasn’t surprised that Konza had implied he was going to her.
Ever since he had refused Konza’s request, he had thought that the other man would surely come again.
After all, after going to such lengths to get Saul under Kaz’s name, surely Konza wouldn’t give up so easily.
After almost a month’s interval, Saul hadn’t been able to resist going to her first.
Today, it was Kongsha who couldn’t resist first.
Saul paced slowly down the stairs, not stopping to say hello as he brushed past people he recognized.
Walking into the third corpse room on the second floor of the East Tower, he gently closed the door.
“Whew…”
Finally relaxing a bit.
“I acted too tough last time, I need to soften my attitude a bit this time.” Sol pondered his response when he met Kong Sha tonight, “Kong Sha-senpai probably thinks that I’m a greedy and arrogant person, and will either threaten my life or add additional chips to lure me in tonight, hopefully it’s the latter.”
But no matter how Kongsha planned to blackmail Saul, Saul would oblige her tonight.
The outgoing Sid should be back soon if he’s not dead, and Saul needs a deterrent thigh.
The outright rejection of Kongsha last time was more of a retreat to advance.
He didn’t want Kong Sha to treat him as cannon fodder that could be discarded at any time again.
Saul put away the book on the long table.
He had originally wanted to start the pre-preparation for the sorcerous body transformation today, but Kong Sha suddenly appeared and disturbed his mind.
Although he had the intention to utilize Kong Sha, Saul s heart …… was still afraid of her.
Doing an experiment in this state, nine times out of ten will fail.
It’s better to read the book ……
“Gimme!”
The candlelight on the conveyor table turned bright.
The guests were coming.
Saul walks over and skillfully pulls off the wrench.
The conveyor belt spun and a guest appeared before Saul through the black fringe.
“This one …… is so clean.”
Clean, was the first impression the body gave Saul.
He looked peaceful, his eyes slightly closed, and his two hands rested naturally on the side of his body. The black leather of the top cover was like a quilt that rested right at his chest.
Saul pulled away the black leather that was resting on his body, only to find that there was not a single wound on the man’s body either.
“Huh, how did he die?”
He gently rolled over to his back and didn’t see any wounds either, which was even stranger, the apprentice in charge of the first two stages should have already checked.
How could there be no trace of inspection left behind? Did they decide that this corpse didn’t have the slightest value? Saul rolled the person back over again and entered a semi-submerged meditative state, observing this guest’s circumference to see if he could find anything.
But even as he entered meditation, he found no familiar flashes of light, and the entire body looked blurry, as if there was a layer of holy light shrouding it.
“There really isn’t anything to be found yet. Why would a body like this be sent to the necropolis?”
Saul straightened up and turned his head in confusion.
“Drink!”
He jumped back a step in shock.
The corpse had surprisingly opened its eyes and gazed sideways at Saul in a peaceful manner.
It was actually not uncommon for corpses to open their eyes in the middle of their journey, in his case.
Just now, it was only because he was thinking about something and was not concentrating that he was startled.
Slowed down, Saul skillfully stepped forward and attempted to smooth his guest’s eyes with his hands.
“Close your eyes, in this wizard’s tower not to mention that the dead have no human rights, not even the living.”
But this guest’s eyes had just been closed and stubbornly opened again.
“Well, I can’t help it if you like it.” Saul, not being stubborn with the dead, picked up a piece of cloth and prepared to put it over his head.
“Don’t block my eyes, will you? I wish to watch how I die.” Just then, the corpse suddenly spoke.
Well, Saul had seen talking corpses before, but he hadn’t seen this one speak with such clarity.
“You’re not dead?”
No heartbeat, no breathing, should be dead.
Did witches also have the so-called turtle breath method of faking death?
The guest lying on the conveyor belt had a gentle expression and smiled at Sol, like a kind elder watching his naughty junior.
“It is dangerous here, child. What you think is good is not always good, and what you think is bad is not always bad, and what you think is alive may be dead, and what you think is dead may be alive. Me? I’m dead and I’m not dead. So please don’t destroy my body okay?”
Saul felt something was wrong, something was definitely wrong with this body!
He reached into his coat pocket and pressed his hand against a small paper bag.
“This guy is kind of creepy, maybe I should just throw him in the big box that holds the bodies.”
With that thought Saul stepped forward and prepared to move the body.
However at that moment the hardback book, which had been silent for a long time, clattered and flew in front of him.
[Year 314 of the Solstice Calendar, June 24th.
Today you met a confidant while disposing of a corpse.
You talked freely about life, and for that reason you couldn’t even spare him the slightest harm.
You peacefully placed his body into the box containing the corpse.
I didn’t realize that the box was quite comfortable to lie in.
You closed your eyes happily.]
Thor heftily looked up, the body on the conveyor belt still looking at him and smiling.
Saul sinks his face, his hand fumbling with the tool bench behind him, and eventually he picks a tool he’s never used before.
A bone chopping knife.
He walked slowly towards today’s guest with the knife in hand.
“Well, what are you doing?” The guest’s smile was a little twisted, his eyes were fixed firmly on the blade of the knife, and his neck, arms and legs began to shake like cramps, as if he was about to get up at any moment.
Saul pulled out a paper packet from his pocket as soon as he could, crumpled it up, and sprinkled it at the body.
The white crystals quickly shattered upon contact with the corpse, breaking down into smaller powders.
At the same time the corpse seemed to be suppressed by some force and stopped shaking.
The guest’s tone immediately softened.
“Can you not hurt me? I just look scary, the situation is not what you think it is! I’m actually not dead! I can actually come back to life! Don’t you ……”
“Duang!”
The hardback …… honestly flew back over his left shoulder.
Thor sulked and raised his blade again.
Processing finished, Saul straightened up and gasped.
It was fortunate that the strength of both his arms had been enhanced, or else a twelve year old boy wouldn’t have been able to do such a heavy job.
“Although I don’t know where all the corpses that pass through the corpse room end up. However, I’ve never been one to cause trouble for my coworkers. They should be satisfied with you becoming like this, right?”
