61. Chapter 61 – Combat Experience
Chapter 61 Combat Experience
The person who came was Meno Gitil, followed by the female caster she had seen during the day.
Meno and Dylan’s grandfather were from the same generation, but still looked middle-aged now.
Heine guessed that it was mostly related to Ms. Dead Whisperer.
The latter sounded similar to Hades, and might have changed the lifespan of her followers.
Perhaps this was the Shadow Sanctuary’s employee benefits.
Meno walked quickly between the two.
His hair was disheveled and the buttons on his shirt were tied the wrong way.
He had mostly been woken up, like Heine, by the near servant behind him, named Shadow, slamming the door.
“It’s a misunderstanding, Mr. Heine, I was asking him to deliver a message to His Excellency, I didn’t expect to fight with these undead.”
“It’s your words that are the misunderstanding.” Heine smiled, “I didn’t mean to threaten this gentleman, I wanted to invite him into the house for a cup of tea.”
An embarrassed smile floated on Meno’s face.
“That’s really a misunderstanding …… Since I’m here, drinking tea is not necessary, I’ll simply talk directly with Your Excellency.”
He really looked like he had something to talk about.
He started a conversation like he was going to talk about the Floating City, and Heine didn’t sound like he was making it up off the top of his head, so he simply interrupted.
“Since there’s really something to talk about, we might as well go inside, after all, this is the Gittler Manor, it’s against Mr. Dylan’s hospitality.”
Meno’s face twitched a few times.
He felt uncomfortable just thinking about Dylan’s ghostly smiling face.
But there was a request …… to endure!
“Okay, let’s go in and talk.”
“As for the two of them ……”
Heine pointed at Tooth and Shadow.
“Especially this gentleman. You may not believe me when I say it, but I feel as if he has angered my partner.”
Meno frowned, “Enrage?”
“Yes, enraged.”
Heine sighed, “As you saw during the day, this one partner of mine – he showed great skill in controlling fire.
“We exchanged words after we returned, his name is V. He was a powerful Shadow Warlock in life.
“The others were once strong, but as you can see, they are not strong today, like a wolf king in his later years.
“I did not see how the conflict arose, but I have reason to believe that it was the young and vigorous lad from your side who struck and stole, and that is why they are angry.”
Meno knew in his heart that the other party was right.
The order he gave to Tooth was to bring back a bone of that black skeleton, or a pinch of ashes would be fine, so that it would be convenient for them to verify some of their guesses.
But Heine’s words made him realize a shocking fact:
The other party did have a terrifying talent in communicating with the dead.
Apart from not having the negative emotions of an undead soul, his undead spirit resembled those powerful undead souls with obsessive thoughts in every aspect ……
“What Your Excellency means is ……”
“Fight, use a dignified battle to dissipate their anger.”
Heine pointed to the courtyard.
“Your people will take turns against my undead, without a deadly fight, and fight until we are done talking.”
Meno was relieved to hear this.
“That’s a reasonable claim. Shadow, Tooth, you two stay outside and play with Mr. Heine’s undead.”
He looked to the two, but Tooth, the boy, didn’t look quite right.
Meno pulled Tooth aside and lowered his voice, “What’s wrong with you? It’s not like you can’t even handle a few skeletons, right?”
Tooth lowered his head and didn’t say anything.
Meno hated it and said, “You young people, you lack the experience of battle, how can you be afraid at a time like this? Think about when we were young ……”
At this time a voice came from behind.
“…… Remember these instructions, engage in order, don’t hurt anyone, and also pay attention to self preservation.
“Also this is the vestment sponsored by Mr. Dylan, and these are the two rings he sponsored, and I don’t know if the skeleton can use them, anyway, you wear them first ……
“And this staff, V. Do a good job and don’t embarrass your partner.”
Meno saw Heine unclasp the robe she was wearing and put it over the pitch black skeleton.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward.
Meno couldn’t say anything and took off a ring and shoved it to the other party.
“Take this, it will make your perception sharper and your spirit more focused. Cheer up.”
… As he watched the two men enter the house, Mr. Sa became anxious.
“I can’t take it anymore, this is damn unfair, isn’t it? What did you talk to him about at night, Brother Wei? How come he even took off his own equipment and gave it to you?”
Wei Temple Iris: “I don’t know wow, he rested there to check my account, I’m ah yes no no no …… also sister said something else ah?”
Catch sheep: “He is estimated to have no experience assigned to you, so make up for it in the equipment.”
Xia teacher: “What also don’t (four sound) said, old iron, on, we two northern custody, this wave invincible!”
Said he already couldn’t wait to charge up.
Mr. Sa: “Brother Goat, is Mr. Xia really a northerner? Why don’t I believe it?”
Catching Goat: “His house has heaters in winter, does your house have any? If you don’t, then honestly go over there and press on.”
Mr. Sa walked away silently.
…
Inside the house.
Dylan shows up as the host and goes to bed.
Meno also pretended not to see the smile on the other man’s face and quickly cut to the chase.
It turned out that that power instability during the day was really caused by Guardian Kite.
His Shadow Blaze was far higher in level than the flame level provided by the furnace.
So when he learned the skill, the monitoring device in the center of the furnace mistakenly thought that there was a “foreign object intrusion” and triggered a mechanism similar to “power failure protection”.
“Then why did the power supply quickly resume?” Heine wondered.
“Because the flame in the center of the furnace was upgraded. Although your undead are good at controlling fire, the amount was too small, and the trace of extremely pure Shadow Flame was diluted throughout the furnace core, and the supply then returned to normal, or else the backup energy of the Floating City would have been activated.”
“So what Your Excellency is saying is ……”
Meno’s tone slowed and he began to talk about something else:
“We’re here to address the local flood of holy light, the flow of holy light in this area has been measured, and we’ll be gradually absorbing the excess starting tomorrow.
“After that, we’ll also have to take samples to calculate the flow of holy light in other areas of the local area, as well as traces of past flows.
“If we could have a furnace with a higher flame level, the work efficiency would also be higher.”
With a face of sincerity, he said, “I admit that my previous attitude and wording was too arrogant, but under the teachings of Lord Servant, we have seen our own problems, so I implore Your Excellency to assist us in our work.”
Heine: “How exactly do you want to assist?”
“We need to verify the conjecture, and if appropriate, by that skeleton ……”
“His name is V.”
“…… Okay, with ‘V’ acting as the heart of the furnace, slowly raise the flame level of the heart.”
After a pause, he busily added, “We won’t let it work for nothing, as long as you’re willing to make an offer, everything is negotiable.”
Make a price?
Heine sneered in his heart.
This sounded generous, but in reality, money was of little use here.
You can’t buy good things in terms of equipment.
You have to look to the Lion King for supplies.
That previous battle with the Roaring Mercenaries said it all.
The biggest kill that group had inflicted on the manor was the wave of attacks that started to destroy the castle’s magical shell.
Kryptonite offense.
That’s why all the low-level battles in the mountains of Makara can essentially be solved by piling up supplies.
Just as the early field group battles in the Yamaguchi Mountains spelled out point cards rather than skill.
But the supplies were in the hands of the Lion King Trading House, and it was up to them to decide who and how much to sell them to.
So surely you can’t ask for money.
Heine was pondering whether directly asking for the Floating City manufacturing drawings would be treated as a psychopath when –
A slight clanking sound rang out.
Accompanying the sound was a string of experiences that sent chills down his chest.
Wait, why chills?
Shouldn’t it be burning?
Immediately after that came Mr. Xia’s happy voice in his head.
“Win win win, it’s really hard for me not to let the death hand come down.”
Catch the Goat: “So the no-prize competition has begun, is there any combat experience or not?”
Heine immediately gets up and walks outside the house.
