44.Chapter 44 – Cleaning up the battlefield and new ideas
Chapter 44: Cleaning up the battlefield and new ideas
A naked skeleton slowly appeared behind Todd with two daggers in his hands.
Mr. Sa: “Holy shit, why are you running around naked?”
Mr. Xia: “Hey, the bloodsucking vines are half-magical creatures that can’t get too far from the manor. That said, that’s not a bad tracking skill you have, what level?”
Mr. Sa proudly said, “Ninth level! Not to mention that a half-elf hunter like him has footprints that are a circle smaller than others, even if he treads on snow without a trace I can still find him by smell.”
“Cow ah, Mr. Sa, how did you practice the ninth level tracking technique? You haven’t been lying on the ground and feeling footprints all these years, have you?”
Mr. Sa heatedly smiled, “If you like me to the three major forests of the hunting license are full of brush, you also have this level of tracking art, you catch big horned winged beasts but also rely on traps, buddy a camouflage clothing a binding arrow will be enough.”
While the two were bragging Dylan and Selima quickly arrived.
Seeing the two skeletons frozen in place, Dylan’s heart felt slightly better.
That guy’s undead weren’t always smart, but now they looked pretty stupid.
“Take the prisoners and follow me.” He said.
“What’s he talking about?” Mr. Sa asked.
“What do you care, you can’t understand it anyway, just pretend you can’t hear it.”
Dylan was a little confused and said it again, but the two still didn’t respond.
It is reasonable that such a spiritual skeleton should not ah …… he saw Heine usually communicate like this ah?
Selima obviously has little patience, she went up and carried Todd like a chicken and turned around.
The two skeletons then followed behind.
“So the command is to follow the captive …… No wonder it doesn’t work.”
Dylan drifted off.
…
Going home through the front door, Dylan first looked at the scorch marks on the wall.
He then followed the route of Jason’s party from the burned-out first-floor lobby to the second-floor hallway.
He scrutinized each body.
Equipment props, bone strength, cause of death ……
The more he looked, the more alarmed he became.
He finally came to a conclusion he didn’t want to admit:
Without Heine and his skeletons, he wouldn’t have been able to stop this group of people.
Even if Matt Gitler, Hunter Gitler were all there and the blood golem was intact, it might not even be able to hold them.
Unless all of his two hundred blood servants and serfs were present, this battle would become uncontested because of the necromancer’s characteristics.
But if that happened, the enemy would definitely not foolishly rush over to die.
The most terrifying thing about Gitil Manor wasn’t a necromancer who was about to level four.
Rather, it was the fact that such an evil existence also possessed more than two hundred servants who did his bidding.
It could be said that the other party’s leader hadn’t done anything wrong.
He first broke the castle’s magical shell at no cost.
That way even if they attacked they wouldn’t be sealed in the castle and could evacuate at any time.
Then he hugged the group all the way, detecting and disarming traps and mechanisms.
The corridors were even more directly and violently broken, and the formation was always kept intact.
However, in the end, but got this result ……
Admittedly, he himself had almost emptied his home base, but in his place to use those props, would it be this kind of result?
Was this really the free play of those three undead?
Or did Heine do something in this but didn’t tell herself?
He looked up to the ceiling, where the bloodstains from the bloodsucking vines crawling through remained.
How was it that a skeleton that could sneak could climb above the opponent’s head in a dignified manner without being detected?
Why?
Dylan Gittler didn’t understand.
He just felt chills all over his body.
……
In the hallway, Heine was repairing the injury from catching the sheep.
Being an MT was really stressful.
Jason and a few of his minders launched a dying struggle at the end.
However, due to the power of consecration, they didn’t dare to come in and bathe against the burning like Jason did, and could only put cold arrows from a distance.
The result was that they all died, but punched through the armor and broke two of Goat’s ribs.
If they had gnawed on the hard core of Goat from the start, the battle might have been different.
But they weren’t soldiers, after all.
Dylan picked up Jason’s sword, an eerie green glow lighting up his hand, and was purified by the sword’s glow just as he approached.
“The power of judgment?” He couldn’t help but snicker.
Judgement of who?
That 4th level holy light affinity skeleton “warrior”?
He checked the equipment of a few more people around him, especially Jason’s armor, and tsked under his breath.
“Is it expensive?” Heine asked.
“I’m afraid this armor with at least two types of primary enchantments will cost around 50 gold coins, and as for the weapons, I’ve found a total of ten of Light Judgment Power, and each of them will cost 10 gold coins, I think.”
Heine couldn’t help but wonder, “What is the origin of this group of people, so well equipped?”
“Fine?”
Dylan looked like he had heard a big joke as he picked up the sword:
“The material cost of this sword is less than 1 silver coin, the armor is less than 5 silver coins, and that’s still forgetting the shipping cost in it.
“Let’s put it this way, the furniture that this group of mercenaries broke in the first floor hall probably added up to over 200 gold coins.
“Do you still think they’re well-equipped?”
Heine couldn’t help but frown, “But there are still enchantments ……”
“That’s the underlying reason why I said it ‘doesn’t qualify as fine’.”
Dylan’s tone was mocking:
“All minor enchantments are mass-produced garbage, and primary enchantments are only marginally better than garbage.
“It’s ridiculous that we can only buy this garbage and have to pay a lot of money for it.”
Heine heard a strong sense of resentment and brokenness in his tone.
“Why?” He couldn’t help but ask.
“I was the same way back in the day ……”
“? You’re stranded here waiting for me??”
Dylan froze, then smiled wryly.
“Sorry, didn’t mean it this time, really. But I did mention the same thing back then. My father didn’t know the details, he just told me that magical equipment was a lot cheaper to buy from elves, even if they hated us and would raise the price twice, but it was still cheap.”
Heine froze, then remembered two things in quick succession.
Jianglu’s “New Life” dagger had been put up for auction at 10 gold coins by the Lion King Trading House.
That was the weapon of a level 5 Wanderer. ……
The sword he got from the elf captives that was on fire was only sold for 1 gold and 50 silver.
Looking at it this way, there was a direct single-digit price difference between the elf’s equipment and the magical equipment in the Silver Bazaar …… He hastened to tell Dylan these two things, however-
“Are you asking me?”
Dylan looked at him with caring eyes.
As if to say, “Didn’t I already answer you.”
Okay, forget I asked.
Heine pointed at Jason on the ground:
“Is this guy also a paladin? Why is it so much weaker than Oswald?”
He was more concerned about the “loose paladin” mentioned by the three than his equipment.
“He hasn’t been baptized, and can only serve as a vessel of holy light himself, not an advocate.”
Heine froze, “The same goes for other Transcendents?”
“It’s the same, only by joining a similar pantheon can they be favored by the gods and thus receive a blessing to become the spokesperson of a certain power, the power is then almost unceasing, there is only a distinction in quality.
“It is said that holy light is the power from the sun, so there are paladins who are the embodiment of invincibility when they bathe in the sun.
“The necromancers were banished from the Shadow Temple for this same reason; we only want power, not subjugation.”
Heine bristled, “Although Your Excellency is in a difficult situation, it always sounds quite dashing.”
Dylan was apparently immune to this kind of banter.
“We brought back a live one.” He said.
Heine feigned surprise, even though she’d known it all along.
“Where?”
“In the cellar.”
As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Dylan suddenly looked at him oddly.
“You ‘plundered’ again?”
Heine nodded.
This time the experience added up to almost as much as what Othelwell had given.
And after communicating with the genjutsu, he seemed to be enlightened.
It was like a foreign language learner soaking in the corresponding language environment for a while and suddenly becoming enlightened.
He was able to allocate a portion of his excess experience to Sa General without the dictates of strong emotions.
He upgraded himself afterward and saved a lot of experience.
He vaguely felt the doorway.
He couldn’t upgrade until the summons were all upgraded, and every undead upgrade was accompanied by an increase in his own experience limit.
By the time there was only one undead left he could basically upgrade at the same time.
This made sense, after all, all of his experience came from undead, and one more would be one more channel to gain experience.
It would be too buggy without that restriction.
“It’s not as strong this time though, and I’ve strengthened my undead with this power …… Do you think it could have something to do with the strength of the object being plundered?” He continued to ask.
Even though he knew he wouldn’t get an answer, he just wanted to ask.
After all, someone was listening.
Dylan shook his head, “I don’t know, do your own research on your business, I’m going to clean up.”
With that he tapped his brow and then wiggled his staff.
The corridors were strewn with corpses slowly rising from the ground, stripping clothes from clothes and weapons from weapons.
Was this the way necromancers cleaned up a battlefield?
Heine was a little envious.
But Dylan was frowning.
It was too stupid.
There was no comparison between these skeletons and Heine’s undead.
The more I look at it, the angrier I get!
……
Cellar.
Todd came to his senses when a bucket of cool water was poured over him.
What came into his eyes were the rotting, stiff faces of Jason and several of his predecessors in the group.
In the cold, dim light, they looked extraordinarily oozy.
Todd was instantly scared out of his pants and shivered and explained everything without much coercion.
His name was Todd, a half-elf from the lumberyard in the eastern suburbs.
He was from the Roaring Mercenaries, and the leader’s name was Jason.
They received a commission from the Lion King Trading House.
The intermediary was Heine’s old acquaintance, Simon.
The commission is to “clean up” the Gitler estate and kill Heine Heinrich.
The payment was 200 gold coins, half of which was paid in advance in the form of enchanted weapons.
The weapons were all produced by the Lion King Trading House, and their quality was guaranteed.
That was all the information, there was no connection with Arthur or George.
They don’t even know that the laird was taken to the haunted manor by Arthur.
Everything was business as usual in Ebony, as if nothing had happened, according to him.
But it was rumored that the laird had drunk too much wine on the day of the Feast of Mercy and had fallen off his horse in the night and hurt his head.
That’s all.
After hearing this, Heine frowned at him:
“When will you reply to each other?”
“I …… don’t know, but, but it’s usually the next day.”
Heine looked to Dylan, who waved his hand.
The two rotting corpses then took Todd down, and he would be kept in the box where Matt kept his material.
Dylan had apparently been able to control his thoughts tightly enough to give orders in his head.
“The crows didn’t notice the presence of any watchers around them, perhaps the other side was stealthy enough.” He said.
He then asked, “What exactly was George backstabbed for?”
Heine sighed and then recounted the conversation the two had that night in the study.
“He apparently failed to restrain himself, and probably said something he shouldn’t have on the day of Mercy, and was quickly dealt with.
“Instead of killing him, the men chose to do it that way.”
Hearing this Dylan couldn’t help but sneer, “He really hasn’t inherited half the wisdom of old George.”
It was only then that Heine remembered that this one was the same age as the Seventh Master.
“So what are you going to do?” Dylan asked again.
Heine looked at the spells in the cellar and remembered the silver spots on George’s body.
He suddenly asked:
“You said …… that the carrier of memories is the physical body, right?”
Thank you all for your votes and rewards, and then again in the shelf speech, thanks a lot!
