Chapter 37: Physical Examination
Chapter 37 Checking the Body
The next day, the Festival of Mercy arrived.
The people in the mountains of Makara didn’t believe in a specific god, so they would give thanks for everything on the Feast of Mercy.
Thank you to the earth for growing crops, and thank you to the forest for nurturing prey.
Thank you for the rain in the sky and the fish in the river.
In short, I’ll thank you for everything, and finally, I’ll thank myself for having worked so hard to survive another year, it’s so hard.
It’s a very simple holiday.
There’s no conflict of beliefs because there’s not much to believe in.
When Heine left in the carriage, the town was full of a happy scene.
As the carriage moved away from the town, he looked back.
The early morning fog blurred the view, as if a giant beast had taken the town in its arms.
To the north was a pale golden sky.
The ground was slightly cracked, and the trees on either side were tinted with withered yellow.
Autumn was like this spreading out holy light, gradually looming over Ebony Town.
…
“Haunted farms do have more yang.”
While standing in front of the gate and waiting, Mr. Sa came in coldly.
Mr. Xia: “It’s a pity that the hemolytic tree has withered, the hemolytic grass has dried up, and the hemolytic flowers have failed …… Alas, the next time we see them is estimated to be a long time from now, and I don’t know if there’s still a chance.”
Catching sheep: “Didn’t you get the out-of-print mask?”
Mr. Xia: “It’s not like the game, get it and put it in the warehouse without worry, I’m afraid of fighting one day who ripped my head cover.”
Mr. Sa suddenly said, “What’s that on the wall? Tail King’s red chili peppers in the sun? What, is he from the north too?”
Catching Goat: “That’s probably dried bloodsucking vines ……”
The three were speechless.
Just as Heine hesitated to let Mr. Xia violently unlock the door, Dylan Gittler actually came to open the door himself.
His hair was disheveled, and he was wearing a silk nightgown with one hand shielding him from the sun.
“Where is your servant?” Heine asked.
Dylan glanced at him.
“There are no servants here since you killed Matt Gitler.”
“Ah this …… Where are your serfs and blood servants?”
“The serfs ran out, and the blood servants have to drink a potion Matt concocted every two days or they die of thirst. I don’t know the antidote either.”
“Uh ……”
“But I have to thank you.”
Dylan suddenly turned around:
“I saw his secret letters with Hunter when I was sorting through the relics, and he’s long since fallen to Eternal Dawn as well.”
“……”
Heine didn’t know what to say for a moment.
He realized now that Matt Gitler had been in the mine that day to reinforce the pipe, or to hide its fluctuations.
No wonder the cave was ridiculously cold.
As soon as the crowd stepped into the house, the temperature dropped steeply and the atmosphere was instantly gloomy.
Heine surveyed the surroundings.
It was the same as those gloomy lonely castles he remembered with thunderstorms at the bottom, the floor was covered with scarlet blankets, and on the walls were magical portraits of hawk-nosed people with shadowy faces.
The room was lit by candles that reflected the armor along the walls.
A low symphony of cellos would have added to the internal flavor.
Chief Sa: “Holy shit, I almost triggered the armor warrior’s trap with a single arrow shot, muscle memory belongs yes.”
Mr. Xia: “Who isn’t, this tail king with his back to me, I think the heart of the backstabbing is already pressing ……”
Catching sheep: “Control, brothers, we are here to be a guest, not to brush the record.”
Mr. Xia: “Take your hands off the shield before you speak.”
Catching Sheep: “…… Dude this is called vigilance!”
…
Dylan takes Sheepcatcher’s actions in stride.
“Your undead are pretty vigilant.”
Heine smiled and patted Catching Sheep on the shoulder.
“Don’t be nervous, we’re here as guests, not to fight.”
All three took the opportunity to loosen their bodies in a friendly gesture.
Dylan couldn’t help but be a little surprised to see a mage who got along with his undead like this for the first time.
“Is this how you usually interact with them?”
“Yes.”
“Do they react?”
“For the most part it’s me talking to myself, but it’s not unresponsive, and I like the way it feels.”
Dylan’s eyes lit up:
“I understand.”
Heine was speechless, what do you understand, don’t you have a wife?
The group went straight up to the third floor, where Dylan’s lab was.
The surrounding shelves were filled with bottles and jars, the contents were quite hunted.
On the ground, there was a huge dark green spell formation, temporarily dimming in light. “Yo, this isn’t a parsing spell formation.” Mr. Sa snickered, “I remember that before entering the Tail King’s room you have to check your body here, to prevent anyone from withholding their attributes.”
Mr. Xia: “Do you remember the oddball you met the first time you came here, Brother Goat?”
Sheep Catchers laughed, “A 5-point Intelligence Law Master, right? Strength and sensitivity dual cultivation, only know illumination, melee combat a piece of shit and still not allowed to say, don’t ask, ask is freedom, see you in the forum, you intensity party ruined AGE.”
…
Between the three snickering, Dylan looked to Heine.
“Have you seen this spell?”
Hearing his provocative tone, Heine raised an eyebrow.
I haven’t really seen it, but I know the answer.
“Can’t really read it, but it seems to be something that scans the strength of human muscles and bones.”
The faint smile disappeared from Dylan’s face.
He frowned:
“You made a blind guess?”
Heine shrugged, “Whatever you think is is.”
Dylan grunts and walks over to the alchemy table, removing two 6 gold coin worth of energizing stones nestled into the black box next to the spell.
“Have your skeletons stand in, one by one.”
Heine thought for a moment, he was afraid to prevent breaking the spell formation, he let Sa General stand up first.
The spell formation was activated, the ghostly green light flourished, then slowly returned to normal.
The green magic pattern in the outermost circle was the first to dim, shrinking inward in a circle.
By the time the inner circle was complete, the light was not all extinguished, but two runes were left floating in midair.
Dylan took a ruler and accurately measured the height of each rune, recorded it, and handed the form over.
—
Bone strength: 1.6
Soulfire strength: 1.7
Energy affinity: 0 —
“The numbers represent approximate levels, and an energy affinity of 0 means it has no spellcasting ability. Switch to the next one.”
The unit here is the aboriginal level.
Since it was rounded up to the nearest one, it represented that the saurian was a level two skeleton.
Converted to player level, this means that it is Skeleton level 8 and Soulfire level 8.5.
Probably corresponds to physical and spiritual attributes respectively.
Teacher Xia quickly stood up.
The spell array lit up and went out, and after recording the data, Dylan suddenly eeped softly.
“What’s wrong?” Heine came over.
—
Bone strength: 2.4
Soulfire strength: 2.5
Energy Affinity: Shadow 0.7–
Mr. Xia had leveled up once, so it was no wonder he could fight so well.
This was equal to a player’s level 12, an npc’s level 3, and perception was a bit higher.
“Rarely seen Shadow affinity, very good skeleton.”
Dylan praised.
The two of them simultaneously turned their gazes to Catch the Goat.
“Can he?” Heine asked.
Dylan hesitated for a split second, but nodded.
He was also curious about how such a “holy skeleton” would behave.
“Let him up!”
“Don’t be nervous, Brother Goat, don’t step on the consecration!” General Sa called out.
“Brother Goat you’re not going to blow us all up into the sky, are you?”
“You two hurry up and shut up!”
Amidst the sound of armor scraping, Catching Goat stepped into the spell.
Fortunately, the spell lit up without activating the holy light or any explosions.
—
Bone Strength: 2.7
Soulfire Strength: 2.2
Energy affinity: holy light 4–
“Level 4 Holy Light affinity? The King of the Underworld is here ……”
Dylan muttered, “My guess was right, it really is special …… A level 4 Holy Light Affinity, even yesterday’s Othelwell was just like that, right?”
Heine looked at the catching sheep and then at Mr. Xia.
He did guess the reason.
The energy in the aborigines’ bodies was in dynamic balance at all times, i.e., there was always absorption and release going on.
The so-called energy affinity was the energy absorption efficiency.
This spell mostly judged absorption by detecting release, thus judging affinity.
But Goat had charged it too much, so much so that it was now over-emitting holy light.
In reality the three skeletons should be the same.
The uncharged Chief Sa, the somewhat charged Mr. Xia, and the fully charged Catching Goat.
0, 0.7 and 4.0 respectively.
It would probably be even more horrible if it was tested on the day it was freshly charged.
“Do you want to test yourself?”
Dylan suddenly asked.
“Me?”
Heine’s heart fluttered.
He was also curious as to what level he was now.
So he walked up.
After the light flickered, he noticed that his rune height was not as high as General Sa’s.
But there was a silver rune floating up in the innermost ring, about the height of a “2”.
“Level 2 meta-spirit affinity???”
Dylan suddenly shrieked out.
