Chapter 24: Personal grudges
Chapter 24 – Personal Grudges
“What’s going on here?”
Heine stepped forward and nervously surveyed Catch the Goat.
The three skeletons were each confused as well.
This input looked like it had no signs of stopping, and when Catch the Goat didn’t show any discomfort, Heine commanded him to stand farther away.
But no matter how far he went, he couldn’t stop tugging on the line.
After the initial uneasiness, the one man and three skeletons all regained their composure.
General Sa said, “Brother Goat can’t suck all the holy light out of this well, can he?”
Teacher Xia: “It may not be impossible, there are a total of four such pipeline nodes, it’s hard to say what would happen if all of them were connected, maybe Goat would be directly refined into a Golden Skeleton King.”
Catch the Sheep: “…… I think you two just want to straighten out your buddies.”
Heine, however, secretly made a note of it.
There are three more pipes like this one ……
……
The guard who had led the way at the beginning had run away like mad after reaching the cave where Matt was, and was now nowhere to be seen.
Walking stiffly through the mine tunnel, Mr. Sa coldly asked:
“Say, are any of you familiar with this mine?”
Heine had actually wanted to ask for a long time.
Mr. Xia: “It’s unlikely that the brothers are. Life Profession players will be a bit more familiar, this place isn’t a combat zone after the opening of the desert, and I’ve only been here once or twice.”
“What about Brother Goat?”
“Harm, he can be familiar with what, he entered the pit when this place is already scorching hot mountains, mines and farms are crowded with life profession players, he every day on the two copies and the wilderness area three points and one line ……”
Catch the Goat: “Dude might actually know how to get around.”
“Huh?”
Both of them were shocked!
Heine noticed the anomaly at this point as well.
With the constant intake of holy light, Catch the Goat’s soul fire was gradually tinted with a hint of light gold color.
Moreover, the white bone body that originally had little warmth suddenly had a faint warmth, which became more and more obvious in this low-temperature mine.
“The Order Shield you guys know, there’s a glowing special effect that detects evil, the closer you get the brighter it gets. I’m feeling similar to the indicator lights on the shield right now. It’s definitely not perception, but I do know which way is closer to the surging holy light.”
Mr. Xia: “Then wait until the next fork in the road to see you perform!”
“…… OK.”
Soon, it came to the fork in the road again.
Catch the sheep suddenly stopped and froze facing a certain direction.
Heine had been keeping an eye on the threads on his body and was the first to notice the abnormality.
“What’s wrong?”
He walked over to Catch the Goat.
Obviously getting no response.
“Is this going to work?” Sa asked, “Is that how you guys usually tip him off?”
“What else, you can’t just drag him inside, can you?”
Sa was tempted to say that was too stupid.
But the next moment he saw Heine muttering thoughtfully to herself:
“Are you trying to say there’s a similar structure in this direction?”
“Crap really?” Mr. Sa was shocked.
Mr. Xia: “Learn from it, it’s tacit understanding.”
“Go this way and try it.”
Heine finally decided to say, and the three of them hurriedly followed.
A few minutes later, they returned to this intersection.
At this time there was another golden thread on the Catching Goat, extending out from the depths of the mine.
But the first one had faded so much that it was impossible to see.
Although it couldn’t be tugged on, the lines would get fainter and fainter as they pulled away from each other.
This was a sign that the holy light was unable to converge, the farther away it was meant that more of it escaped into the air.
But at the moment, Heine was energized.
“Come on, let’s keep looking!”
……
Outside the mine.
Bang Bang Bang!
Another series of solid impacts.
Arthur, in the shape of a wounded mad wolf, chased after the golem, slamming his fists, elbows, and shoulders hard into his opponent.
The blood golem’s armor was hit with spiderweb-like cracks.
Dylan Gittler’s heart dripped blood as he watched, and he couldn’t help but curse:
“Arthur! What kind of madness are you having! Isn’t Old George’s son with a heart of gold really not afraid of the Gitilers being scattered throughout the entire McCalla Mountains?”
Arthur stared straight at him with reddened eyes.
“Try it if you dare!”
“Thanatos on top, this goddamned madman!”
Dylan cursed.
The Gitil family was now completely riding the tiger. He should never have trusted that old fox Donald!
Yesterday, the other man had written that there was a chance to kill two birds with one stone by killing little George and framing the crime on Hunter Gittler’s murderer.
It turned out that the cost of three lives and three bloodworms actually failed to solve the problem, but instead caused a series of troubles!
This morning, he received another letter from Cuillotine.
The letter said that Donald was a liar, and that his real purpose was to get Arthur to step in and dismantle the holy light isolation device here.
In this way, Eternal Dawn’s people could destroy the Gittler Manor just like they did the Burial Ground.
Dylan was skeptical, but he had to believe part of it when the raven witnessed Arthur setting off from the barracks with his men in a rage.
When he arrived at the mines, Donald’s men and those from Cuillotine Leaf Court were actually there.
He wanted to ask for clarification, but Arthur didn’t give him that chance and barged into the mine with his men!
Then the battle continued.
Dylan was a little confused, why did Little George have to be the dog of Eternal Dawn?
Wouldn’t it be good to be the lord of a neutral war zone!
The thought of the huge losses caused by this inexplicable battle made his teeth itch with hatred.
“Mr. Dylan, your losses this time around will be the sole responsibility of Cui Ye Court.”
As if reading his mind, Jiang Lu’s voice came from the side.
Dylan felt slightly better in his heart.
“Hmph…… will also reduce the maintenance cost of the Holy Light Isolation Device for the next five years!”
Jiang Lu laughed in her heart, this guy was really being sold and counting money for others.
“Three years, no more.”
However, she didn’t wait for a reply, Dylan suddenly froze and stared in the direction of the mine, the whole person was like petrified.
“Holy light? Why is there such a powerful holy light?”
He was not the only one, his wife Selima had the same expression and soon screamed out.
Necromancers tended to be a bit more sensitive to holy light.
So it was only after a dozen seconds or so that Jianglu’s face stared in disbelief.
She also felt the holy light that was slowly being released ……
No good, it’s a ruptured pipe!
She wasn’t worried that someone could destroy the energy storage well.
With the Convention of the Four Kingdoms in place, level five spellcasters strong enough to destroy the well were not allowed to enter the place, and special people like her were already considered the limit of access.
If it was just a ruptured pipe, that was okay to fix.
It was just a pain in the ass to explain.
“Mr. Dylan, this might be ……”
Phew!
Her explanation was interrupted by an ever-enlarging arm.
She had to dodge hastily, which avoided the severed arm of the blood golem that was thrown at her by Arthur.
“Hey, bee, it’s time to come down and sting me.”
Arthur shouted at her.
The man was cloaked and covered in blood, but the blood glow around him was so thick it looked like he had just popped a blood mollusk monster.
Upon hearing this address, Jiang Lu’s face instantly grimaced.
Some long dusty memories were stirred.
She disappeared into the air with a cold face.
The hair band flashed slightly and a bright green pill bottle appeared in her hand.
She poured out a drop of the potion and applied it to the dagger.
Potion of Eternal Sleep, Level 5 non-lethal poison, 45 gold coins/gram.
It was also on the list of banned items in the Four Nations Convention.
If found, she would personally be kicked out of the Makara Mountains.
Also the Court of the Emerald Leaf would probably cut her out in order to retain her eligibility.
But when the unexpected meets a personal vendetta, there’s not much to care about.
She stared at the back of Arthur’s neck, her body light as a gust of wind.
Running, jumping, falling!
The dagger was like a dragonfly dipping on the back of Arthur’s neck!
Arthur, who was pressing the puppet’s body and hammering it into the ground, only felt that he was stung by something, and then his whole body seemed to be drained of its strength, and his mind became extremely sluggish.
The rich blood light that surrounded him suddenly faded, and he staggered back two steps, gasping for breath.
“Impossible …… What kind of poison is this?”
No one answered.
Arthur’s consciousness faded as he saw the half-dead Blood Golem rise from the ground, shards of armor and rotting flesh rustling down his body.
But it was inching closer to himself.
He tried to resist, but he couldn’t make any strength at all.
Not ……
At the last moment of falling into a deep sleep, he seemed to hear something.
It was the sound of a whooshing break, followed by someone sighing.
“Luckily we made it in time.”
That voice seemed somewhat familiar ……
