Chapter 20 20.Destroying evil is the way of justice, and it doesn’t really matter who you work with

Murphy had to admit that he did underestimate his cute little players.

After listening to Lumina’s description of her thoughts, he, an orthodox vampire, had stood frozen in the forest for more than ten seconds before coming back to his senses, and at that moment, his eyes towards the innocent-faced Lumina had turned quite subtle.

He was aware that players always liked to live with the whole thing in a very abstract way, but this fizzle seemed a bit over the line even by the moral standards of a great evil.

But by the vampire’s negative moral standards as a Midnight Favored One instead it was just right, this sunny looking international student girl was afraid that she wasn’t a natural believer? Maybe even a little bit sickly?
Is she that ruthless?
Murphy hesitated for just a few seconds, and then made up his mind.

“Your suggestion is a bit risky, I need to consider it carefully.”

Murphy spoke to Lumina with the steadiness that an NPC should have, and then took out the weapons and armor contained in the psychic energy pack at his waist, handing them over to the small players to try on and familiarize them with the performance of these weapons.

Among them were also some alchemical explosive shells captured from the witch hunters and the powerful but heavy to move automatic hunting crossbow.

“Why are they all cold weapons!”

More than twenty minutes later, Brother Woo Meow’s group walked back with the professionals clustered around them.

The notebook provided by Murphy in the hands of Boardload Happy Stick had already scribbled and drawn a lot of parameters, and he had already found a terrain in the forest that was very suitable for an ambush, but when he came back and saw his side’s weapons and armor he was instantly a bit tense.

“I’m not familiar with this part of cold weapon combat.”

Happy Stick grabbed a vampire style swift sword and waved it in his hand, a little pawed at Brother Woo Meow:

“But I know a few fellows who play soldier-strike group combat, their skills are quite good, that big windmill sword swing is called a ground.”

“Let’s talk about these afterward, just say these things are okay?”

Brother Woo Meow waited to hear the results while Happy Stick reviewed the current equipment situation, and finally his eyes lit up when he saw that automatic hunting crossbow.

He quickly stepped forward and fiddled with it for a few moments, and after thinking for a moment after hearing about the thing’s rapid-fire performance from Niu Niu, he slapped his thigh and said:

“Put this thing on a carriage! Get a simple armored wagon out as a firepower platform, sister over there! I heard from Woo Meow that you’re a good shot, right? Then you’ll be the sniper.

I can also make a guest appearance as a professional long-range, and we’ll use these black bursts to get some land mines or something.”

Happy Stick headed there and sat down in a big horse, raised his hand, and said:
“If we start the operation tomorrow, then we’ll have to start digging fortifications from now on, the other side has gun-toting soldiers, and even WWI level firepower needs a few foxholes.

A denial trench would also have to be dug if possible! The other side is sending military supplies surely they won’t be carrying them on their shoulders and pulling them by hand, and since they have carriers then a denial trench would be useful.

The road through the woods over there was deserted, and they had only one way to go.

It’s a pity that there isn’t quite enough gunpowder, or else they could have gotten a couple of heartless cannons or something”

“You’re getting more criminal the more you talk.”

Brother Woo Meow rolled his eyes, but then had the bright idea to immediately report to Murphy’s side, who froze for a moment when he heard that the players were planning to stay up all night working on the fortifications here.

He didn’t mind if the players stayed here as free labor, anyway, the fact that he had a Blood Servant had already been reported to Miss Femis.

He was just surprised that the little players were actually more energized about this than he was?

But on second thought people wouldn’t really die, right as a military game, which was much cooler than his own situation.

“Yes!”

Murphy said with a nod:
“I’ll get some tools for you guys, do what you need to do.”

With that said, he exited the grove leaving the rest to his little players, he himself took Maxim back to the wagon he was in and called Miriam up to the wagon again.

“I have a task for you.”

Murphy took a deep breath and whispered to Miriam:

“I’m going to distract the servants of Miss Firmis in a moment, you take the opportunity to go into the carriage that holds the witch hunter prisoners, they’ve been tortured and tortured by the vampires for the past two nights, but they should still be awake this time.”

“What are you going to do?”

Miriam looked horrified.

She had already realized that things were not good, however, Murphy did not give her a chance to refuse, and the words that followed did not move her mouth but were delivered to Miriam’s ears with onomatopoeic techniques.

The more the girl listened, the wider her eyes became, and when she heard the end, she was too scared to directly cover her ears and screamed to:
“You’re crazy! If they find out about this, we’ll”

“So just don’t let them know! Don’t worry, that’s how we vampires do things, even if it gets out the other vampires will just praise me for being mean enough and I’ll take it as an appreciation and gladly accept it.

The problem is that you have to act now.”

Murphy reached over and covered Miriam’s mouth and told her:

“Don’t be afraid, even a vampire like Missy Femis must be dormant in her coffin when the sun is at its hottest at midday. As long as you aren’t stupid enough to lift the panels of their coffins, no one will jump out and hurt you.

All you have to do is deliver the message!

Think about it.

Even if the witch-hunting captives don’t agree to cooperate, they won’t betray you! And even if they did, the vampires would just see it as a sinister diversion.

It will be acted upon tomorrow!

If they didn’t seize this last chance, when they returned to Cadman City they would be greeted with a fate worse than death.

In front of the methods of the Spirit Torturer, their will was useless, and those secrets would eventually be unearthed to bring death and destruction to their companions.

Believe me, Miriam, this is an opportunity for all of us!
I promise you that after tomorrow, no matter the outcome of the operation, you will be free! Upon your return to Cadman City, I will personally put you on the merchant caravan to Chardonnay Harbor.

Swear it in the name of my venerable Lady Tris!”

Miriam stared at Murphy dead in the face, and after nearly a minute of silence, she gritted her teeth and asked:
“Why are you doing this? They are your compatriots! You’re pushing them into the fire.”

“They’re not.”

Murphy said with his eyes slightly closed and waving his hands:

“I send them smiles and they sneer back at me; haven’t you heard what they’ve been calling me these past two nights? A rat in a mud pit, the trash of Cadman City!

I am milder, but not yet so forgiving as to pretend not to have heard it all, and I do not intend to put my fate in the hands of that great lady’s mercy which she may or may not have.

There is only one of my compatriots in the darkness!
She was still waiting for me to return to her manor in Cadman City.

Trixie would be so lonely and sad if I were to die, and are those vampires treating you well? Miriam, why think of their future?” “Why not let Maxim go?”

Miriam said, holding her arms a little fearfully:
“He’s more loyal, you should trust him more.”

“Maxim is loyal but he has a stupid mouth and you, you have the brains in your head to convince those prisoners of your wisdom.”

In the dimly lit carriage, Murphy reached out and placed a hand on Miriam’s trembling shoulder as he whispered:

“I’ve never asked, and you’ve tacitly never mentioned it, but you and I both know that you have something in your hands that could help those witch hunters escape.”

“You’ll be responsible for getting me safely to Shardo Harbor when this is all over! And to pay me for a lifetime of trouble-free transportation!”

Miriam bit her lip to the bone, but she finally made up her mind and raised her head to grab Murphy’s collar and chortle:

“I’ll never come back to this hellhole of Transylvania in my life, and that’s what you owe me, Murphy! You listen to me very carefully. You owe me a huge favor!”

“Yes, and I promise to pay it back, and do everything I can to make sure you benefit from it for the rest of your life.”

Murphy grinned, fished out his worn pocket watch to check the time, and said:

“There’s still an hour to go before the sun is at its strongest and the vampires’ senses will be dulled to the core, make it quick and I’ll have Maxim meet you.”

“Lady Adele, my blood servants are already assembled in the woods and have begun digging fortifications for Miss Phineas’ operation on the morrow.”

Thirty minutes later, Murphy, who was fully wrapped in a cloak that covered himself tightly but was still wilted by the sun, arrived beside Miss Phymis’s blood servants and said to the mature lady in front of him, who had a cold but at least E face in her housekeeper’s uniform:

“But they’ll need tools and hands, so I’m going to draw all the human servants in your caravan along to help.”

“That’s out of order, Lord Murphy.”

Lady Adele, who was sitting beside the carriage and resting, glanced at Murphy, and her black and white eyes were full of scrutiny and vigilance.

She had been observing Murphy for the past two days.

But the more she observed the more she realized that this guy was different from every vampire she had ever seen, and if she hadn’t confirmed that Murphy was really a Blood, Lady Adele would have thought that this was a genuine and cunning human.

Seeing that Mrs. Adele refused, Murphy did not talk nonsense with her.

Turning around, he lifted the door of the large black carriage where Miss Miffith was, and reached out to knock on the small walnut coffin of the eldest lady who was resting.

The act startled Mrs. Adele, and
Unable to maintain her aloof ladylike demeanor, she jumped up and grabbed Murphy’s wrist with precision and glared at him angrily.

“Look, either you be a good boy and send help! Or I’ll shout for Missy to get up and talk to me about this at this unseemly hour.”

Murphy shrugged off the deep-pocketed housekeeper’s hand.

Just that precise movement just now let him judge that this housekeeper was definitely above himself, even more powerful than some of the vampires in the team.

This may be a black iron body level human assassin or wanderer, but Murphy is not afraid of her, because the two people’s “status” is not in the same position.

He straightened his collar, pointed at Mrs. Adele’s delicate nose and said:
“I am a member of the Blood Vulture Clan, and even if Missy wants to punish me, she will have to wait until she returns to Cadman City, but for a housekeeper who has made her master lose face, perhaps the mud of the Filthy Swamp matches better with this servant’s dress you are wearing.”

“With all due respect, you are doing something dangerous, Lord Murphy.”

Mrs. Adele’s tone grew colder.

She could sense that Murphy was deliberately provoking her, she just didn’t know why this weak vampire was doing this, was it really just for some tools?
“But I’m about to lose interest in continuing this conversation with you, chesty human!”

Murphy’s blood-sucking canine teeth were bared at the side of his mouth as he addressed the butler in front of him in a hazy tone:
“Trouble recognizing who you are! You tail-wagging bitch!”

These words completely made Mrs. Adele’s face swish and harden.

Her hand was already next to the hand cannon fixed to the side of her leg under her long skirt, but after a few seconds, the loyal housekeeper took a deep breath to calm herself down.

She realized that she was being led by the nose by Murphy, and this was clearly not a good time for infighting.

So she took a step back and took out a silver handbell, glanced at Murphy with a chilling look on her face, and then shook the bell to summon the human servants of the caravan.

This small chaos perfectly obscured the movement in the wagon at the back of the caravan.

Maxim stood guard beside the wagon with a mask on, he couldn’t see his expression but he knew it was quite tense just by listening to his breathing, he didn’t know what Lord Murphy was going to do, but he knew that this was the moment to test his loyalty!

In the car, Miriam was carefully maneuvering around the two coffins that were placed in the large carriage.

She approached Natalie, the Huntress, who was bound in the compartment by horrific and insidious torture devices, on her knees, the latter’s face covered in blood was obviously suffering from inhuman torture, but she opened her left eye with difficulty when Miriam reached out and touched her cheek.

Its right eye had been beaten and bloodied.

“Shhh!”

Miriam made a silent gesture to Natalie in the dimness, and she glanced carefully at the coffin beside her again, fearing that the vampire torturer inside would suddenly jump out at this moment.

She then took out a piece of paper in her arms and unfolded it in front of Natalie’s eyes, and activated the very ordinary looking metal bracelet on her wrist, causing it to light up with a spot of light illuminating those words on the paper.

The huntress’ bloodstained face was initially bewildered, but her eyes rounded as she read the writing on the paper.

Miriam didn’t linger long either.

She would come over here just to say hello, and after seeing Natalie nod at her, she wrote another sentence on the paper and placed it in front of the Huntress’ eyes.

“The raid is tomorrow night, target the Goldfinch transport! Survive the night and I will be back tomorrow to free you.”

After she left, Natalie glanced around the dimly lit compartment at her three companions, all of whom had been tortured beyond recognition.

Blood servants were not to be trusted!

She was certain of this; it had to be the vampire named Murphy in the shadows.

However, vampire infighting had nothing to do with them, the witch hunters, and assuming that this battle could be a big loss for these gathered midnight hunters, then the witch hunters were willing to be used as a gun.

Her team members were already dead, so the vampires would have to be dead as well!

That would be fair enough.

“Bang.”

The huntress kicked over the bucket holding the blood stains at her feet with all her strength.

Letting that blood splatter cover what was left of Miriam’s scent, she then closed her eyes and allowed herself to go into a meditative rest to build up some strength.

Tomorrow night.
Just tomorrow night, one last push!
Ps: Catch-ups seem to be in jeopardy, guys, ask for a catch-up, it’s really important for a new book!
